The green (trailing) locomotive @19:54 (SSRX 715) is a GP38-2 belonging to S&S Shortline Leasing, a "fledgling" outfit out of Farmington, UT. The unit is so "new", it's still not listed on their online roster of yet...a unique catch (on your part!). "Couple" that (no pun intended) with a vintage Chessie System hi-cube boxcar @21:20, and you shot a very cool train, JT. 👍👍
AWESOME video, Jaw Tooth, and thanks for sharing! LOVED the eclipse and the train! WOW!!! Loved the green engine, also, and the other train scenes in that scenic location. I hope you are feeling better as each day passes and your speech is fine! Cute grandkids and I always get a kick out of the cat and the dog and their funny antics. GREAT way to end the video with you and Shoestring. I still cannot believe that he has left this life. Still seems so unreal and I keep expecting to go on RU-vid and see his new videos along with yours. Take care and God bless from New Mexico! 🤠😎 (We had 70% eclipse coverage here in Albuquerque but it did not get as dark as I had hoped, even with the high clouds.)
It’s pretty cool seeing two great things at the same time: a main line train, of course, and the natural phenomenon known as a solar eclipse! Absolutely stunning!
Here in NYC, it was only a partial eclipse. The sky was noticeably darker but not like a total eclipse. Through the glasses the sun looked like a crescent moon.
Awesome! That was perfect timing, getting that train during the darkest part of totality! Great catch JT, and yeah, your voice is just fine, but do look after it, don't strain it. Got a lot of videos to narrate in the future!
That was a great video! I, too, experienced the eclipse on my childhood homestead in Erie, PA, and it was truly a once in a lifetime happening. You didn't have to worry about your video not showing up in the darkness, for your camera more than made up for that darkness. The before-and-after around the train was breathtaking. God can paint a picture with His creation that man can't even begin to match!
Hey JT! Truly enjoy your work. I find watching your trains go by to be so relaxing, but your presence and comments and enthusiasm completes the job. Thank you so much. Your work is appreciated by thousands of fans of your extraordinary channel. Cheers from Chicago! 👍👍👍
What a great catch getting that autorack train during the totality of the eclipse. It passed through my area of Western New York State just after you saw it. Excellent video as always!
Great video Brian. Your talking is just fine. Eclipse was awesome and glad you guys caught a train during totality. I tried but wasn’t lucky enough to get a train during. Stay dry
JT, thanks for getting the great shot of the train passing during the Eclipse. It sure look like the rest of the crew, behind you, were busy filming the eclipse! 😀😀 The camera's aperture took away most of the darkness. At the very end, you really could see how dark it was!
Great to see you and your family experiencing the eclipse together as well as watching the CSX trains on the diamonds, the train pets with Norfie, Chessie, Loki and Brandi watching the eclipse with you was also great and of course the train slide show in Ohio have a great rest of the week Thank You Jaw Tooth.🇺🇲🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲🇺🇲
Great Video Jaw, Thanks. My wife and I went to Marion, Ohio that day and spent some time at the diamonds at the Marion Station watching multiple trains pass through. There was a good crowd there watching the trains. After that we went over to a Baptist church outside of downtown Marion that had a NS crossing next to the church and watched a few trains and then that awesome 3 minute eclipse. Praise the Lord what a day.
Dang, start the video son!! Awesome catch and timing. You need to go play the lotto.. Great Great catch.. love the flash back, kids doing the old school Box trick. Great video..
I knew it would be a long shot getting one during the totality but I was just hoping to get one near the eclipse. This is my luckiest moment ever! Thanks for watching
Excellent work (as usual) JT! In the right place at the right time. I miss Shoestring too. I started following him after I saw one of your videos where you were talking to him.
I live near Hopkinsville, KY i remember the 2017 Eclipse very well. Unique experience to say the least. I was in Evansville, IN for this one for my birthday. Wish I had been able to watch the trains during "totality",lol. Really excellent videos, my friend! ❤
Great catch of the CSX mixed freight train during the Total Eclipse on 8 April 2024, Jaw Tooth! The other trains that you caught at the Greenwich, Ohio CSX railroad junction. Thank you for adding the way-back machine video from the August 2017 Eclipse that you captured in Kentucky. I enjoyed taking the walk along the tracks for the close-up look at the former New York Central signals that are still in use at this location.
That was a cool eclipse, to go from complete daylight to complete totality , and while a train was passing through, and then quickly back to daylight, wild, tru a one in a lifetime experience. Watching it from a popular rail fan location was pretty neat too. Nice job JT.👍🏼🌕🌑🌘🚂
Spent the night at at the Landings Hotel in Pittsburg. Watched your RU-vid dedication to Hobo Shoestring last night. Well done my friend. Also woke up this morning, pulled the curtains back and caught an intermodle train across the river from the hotel. Great time!
I at least Experienced the one in 2017 but being in Canada it was Less than Exciting The Sky went Dark for a Few Seconds but was Nothing Compared to this Eclipse!
There was a stellar CSX mixed freight! It had a green locomotive in the second position, plus 2 green covered hoppers, a two compartment tank car and a DPU on a long (154 +/-cars) train! It was just fabulous, JT!! Great catch my friend. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
I thank you JT for including 2 of my favorite pets in this spectacular video today!! Awesome trains and situations in this video today. Please tell your family and animals I said hello. Words to express my enjoyment fail to come at this time JT. I hope you have some idea how I feel. I'll see you tomorrow. 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great job! Traveled to Wapokeneta to watch the eclipse from the Neil Armstrong Museum Loved your tribute to Hobo Shoestring and the flashback video to 2017.
That was awesome! It gets cold real quickly when the sun gets covered over, even in a partial eclipse. I guess that first train would be riding in the dark for a while! The Green Loco on the third train was neat! That last one was at least 175 cars long, if not more. Yeah, the pics from 2017 were great too, with the horseshoe shadows. Yeah, I'm missing our Hobo friend too. Yus, something else! I wonder what the Ancient peoples would've made of that? Great stuff. Thanks again JT. All the best. Cheers!
That was really awesome (to use one of your favorite phrases). You sacrificed looking at the eclipse to stay on that train. Thanks Good Man! Great 👍 timing.
Wow the CSX train you caught that had the green EMD 715 I caught in Muncie at 1:03 pm he must have had the green signal the whole way that’s 193 miles. Great video
That’s so cool caught that Brian! Here in Texas we were smack dab in the path of totality. The birds here got super quiet and everything became really still. Nice catch sir!!!
