I love watching Japanese craftsmen! So restful. Your storytelling is getting better with each video, and I look forward to seeing what you can accomplish in the future. I did find the music a little repetitive, and thus sometimes boring, but that is simply personal preference. I loved the way you included the sounds of the basket being made. 😁
Bravo monsieur vraiment bravo
Is it a family type business? The book about the last professional basketmaker from Hinokage implies the tradition is going instinct, but looking at this and other videos it seems it's alive and well. Is this a small scale production shop? I think it would've been nice if you could do short interviews with the craftsmen, you know, asking them what they think about the future of their crafts, whether they get new apprentices, etc.
I'd love to watch this video through, but I'm not watching anything with anyone wearing a mask: Covid trauma. Don't know if this was filmed during the pandemic or more recently, but it doesn't matter, reminds me too much of governement control, intimidation and manipulation. Sorry, looks like a lovely video.
