With the Chinese dress mostly everything comes from China...people have at least 1 thing that came from China but a dress that is authentic and comes from her heritage comes from China...no no we need a local dress! Really?

There's another whole issue even with donating clothes. Fast fashion & over consumption has caused a massive problems. Clothes get donated, & some resale. What doesnt sale are bundled & sold as bulk to foreign markets. Unfortunately, a lot of the fast fashion is made from fabrics that aren't natural fibers. What they don't sell, litters the poorer countries, oceans, etc... We need to get back to good quality staple wardrobe pieces. Donating the clothing, esp the cheap material items isn't working.

Yep! He should have made her pick the flowers from the lady who grew the flowers in pple's yards. He needed to save a lot of money and just run from her, run fast. She then could save the environment for all her needs.

Different people have different priorities. To some the experience of the wedding for themselves/guests, the memory is more valuable than the rings.

You don't have to spend a lot on rings for them to be just as fancy

An eco wedding was probably a brand new and positive sounding concept when she heard it. This was the time when climate change really came to the forefront of the public domain. She probably thought if she followed the bride's lead then she could be pioneering a whole new trend in weddings and it would be good for her business, and t. Who would pay a dollar more for a corkage fee for organic wine when the other one is already in the country so it isn't making a difference one way or the other?

This episode aired in 2008...Instagram was created in 2010. Not everyone did everything for internet clout back in the day because people weren't online the way they are now. I think she genuinely wanted to try her best, which is more than most people do. And it's especially hard when your fiance is not even a tiny bit supportive.

A lot of people don't have a endless supply of money. I refuse to pay more than I can afford. Not everyone hates budgets like you do

Actually it's about some people getting really really rich off this save the planet crap. Al Gore made up this whole concept of carbon credits and he made hundreds of millions of dollars off of it. So he gets to live in a giant mansion and use more energy in a year than I'll probably use in a lifetime, but he can say it's okay because of carbon credits?! All the rich people screaming about saving the planet are the ones who use a private jet to get around like Leo DiCaprio and Bill Gates. It's all a scam. That's why I refuse to pay a cent towards anything that says save the planet. I recycle, and that's as far as I'll go. Anyone who doesn't understand that you're getting more miles per gallon in your car because they're making your car less safe doesn't deserve to drive.

People consume way too much of everything. We need to be satisfied with what we have. Whether it's organic, eco, or not. We still consumed way too much. That in itself will lower our foot print.

She is always on the side of the one who wants to spend more. I don't like her.

I remembered that piece of info about there are actually more trees now than 100 years ago, and how using paper creates jobs from one of my professors. I too always shop at small and/or local businesses too. Especially during these times.

I think she was swept away by the whole environmentalism thing. especially as this was filmed in the mid noughties when eco became an industry. She thought it was such a noble concept and great for her business that she didn't realise how unregulated the industry was at the time. Like that plot of land they bought, probably was part of a conservation area anyway.

I think digital invites will result in a lot of no shows, as the e-mail will get lost in the inbox after a few months. These things often get sent out six months in advance. A hardcopy invite can be stuck on the fridge as a reminder and you can print the on recycled paper, with only one layer even.

Yes electronic. That's how my uncle sent his wedding invitation after spending a load of money on invitations only for COVID to cancel everything. Better money spent elsewhere.

I agree. Wedding invitations often get sent out months in advance. So it's good to have something you can stick on your fridge to make sure you keep the day free. Emailed invitations can get lost in your inbox and before you know it, you've booked a holiday or another event. I agree you can cut costs and paper though. Just a single printed A5 or A6 card is enough. Can even print it on a commputer to save costs.

Antique is better made especially if from here In England

I would have loved an antique wedding band, especially my grand-parents rings reused. But no goldsmith here would touch them, because it wasn't 750 gold, so we bought new

Anything that's old is actually more eco friendly. Mining for metals and minerals is every toxic for the environment.

You can get them from the Arbor Day Foundation. They currently sell them for $69 for 50 seedlings.
