I’ve been testing the River 3 over the last few weeks, and there are a few features that have been significantly improved over the River 2. I was a little skeptical that you could make it any better, but here we are! GaN is a major upgrade and the AC inverter has much more efficient operating cost.
@@shoombooltala24 Yep...they probably don't want people canceling their standard River 3 orders...like I'm about to. Looks like I'll be waiting like 2 months; which isn't what they originally said.
@@EcoFlowTech I have 4 delta pros, a delta pro ultra, all three river 2’s (2, 2max, and 2pro), delta 2, and a delta 3+. One thing that I would really like to see implemented on the rest of them would be the battery health. Will that be coming to the older units as well? Also what is the inverter efficiency on the river 3’s? Additionally the new delta pro 3 has that low power standby by inverter. Which newer models have that as well?
@@hypernate1481 Thank you for your continued support of EcoFlow! 1. The SOH feature is currently available only for the RIVER 3 Series. We’ll optimize this new function based on user feedback before expanding it to more products. 2. The inverter efficiency of the RIVER 3 is 93%. 3. Could you clarify which "low power standby inverter" feature you’re referring to? If you mean Saving Mode, it’s already implemented in the DELTA Pro Ultra, DELTA Pro 3, and DELTA 3 Plus, helping users plan their home energy usage more efficiently.
@@EcoFlowTech awesome thank you for the response. I had a chance to beta test the d3+ and the DPU. One thing I have seen mentioned about the D3 pro (and possibly the d3+ but I haven’t confirmed yet) is that cycling electronics (like a refrigerator) are treated differently by the inverter some how because when the fridge for example is not running the compressor, but still needs power to remain on and monitoring temp, the inverter will some how go into a lower consumption mode until the compressor kicks on again.
Can you add feature "Do not charge till i give permission" (i'm using my batteries as low electricity price = charge / High price = do not charge + straight from wall without charging when middle price) [Now it starts charging immediately when i plug it in to the wall (wifi wall socket)] (im also using lab features -> Ac charging but it resets every time when unplug and plug maybe fix this instead?)
In the video you show the River 3 connected to a computer acting as a UPS with monitoring software on the PC. You also show it connected to a Synolgoy NAS. Are you going to be providing updated documentation on the UPS functionality and computer interface? This functionality is a huge selling point and a potential game changer for the UPS industry. I will replace all of my APC and Cyberpower UPS with these the second they are able to properly communicate to computers and servers their remaining battery for safe shutdown during an outage.
I would like to use the River 3 Plus for powering my home networking, including a modem, a router, security cameras and a NAS, but using solar as main energy source. But for winter time, solar may not be enough. So is it possible to use a River 3 Plus for powering the devices from solar, but if the charge drops below a certain limit it will switch to grid power and when solar is available again to power the system switch back to it?
Please tell me the price of the river 3 plus before I buy a BLUETTI AC50B I can’t keep waiting 😩 I want to get as close to 400 wh for $300 as possible. With the river 3 plus with the extra battery be close to that price?
Stay tuned for early December! It’s a great fit for your needs in terms of capacity and price, even without an extra battery-definitely worth the wait! 🥺
@@EcoFlowTech noooo that’s too long of a wait lol. I’m sorry I just picked up a AC60 from the bluetti site. But when that releases if you guys are willing to send me one. I’ll throw my bluetti off a bridge into a river and post the video on all my social media and let you use the video. 🤣🙏🏽 or just send it in to y’all.
As far as I know the R3 does not charge through USB-C I think the R3+ does. I wish the R3 did though especially since the charging inputs have been moved to the side, big design error IMHO!
@@VancouverTrailShredders Actually the bundle with the 45 Watt solar panel it says that the panel is USB-C. So, it is probably a safe bet that the R3 can charge via USB-C. I will let you know when I get mine next week.
@@AaronBregg the USB-C is in addition to the standard, MC4 cables so you can charge mobile devices directly. I know people who have tested the R3 and they have confirmed it doesn't charge through USB-C.
@@VancouverTrailShredders Ah OK. So, if I am understanding right, the 45 watt panel I have coming will still be MC4 but have a USB-C port on it (like the old Goal Zero foldup has)?
The video showcases a model machine, but the actual screen of the RIVER 3 Plus you'll receive is the same as that of the DELTA 3 Plus!😉 You can check out the DELTA 3 Plus unboxing video to see what the screen really looks like: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tGFk0otSCWs.htmlsi=6jSjzLWh3tw_-UT1
@@1klakak yes most new devices use an USB-C port for charging but since a lot of people still have older devices that uses micro usb it's good that USB-A is still available. You can still charge your new device with an USB-A to USB-C cable but you can't charge your older device with USB-C to Micro USB.
@VancouverTrailShredders sure. I didn't say there shouldn't be any USB-A ports. I'm saying it should be 2 USB-C and 1 USB-A. People can use adapters for their USB-A devices. Having 2 USB-C ports would give 2 high-speed ports instead of 1.
Guys, I love your products but we’re in 2024 and there’s still only 1 usb-c… I just hope you’ll release in the future a river 3 pro that is more outdoor oriented like the previous generation and only in one package instead of relying on an external battery, river 3 + seems bigger than the river 2 pro when combined with the big battery. I would’ve bought it if it wasn’t an external battery system, the more portable the better!
River 3 plus/max is completely fine being expandable? It's just a "more powerful/feature-rich" river 3 with expandable battery capabilities. Same with the pro if they can keep a similar or smaller form factor. But I do agree on needing more USB C. End of 2024 and one output only c port is a shame.
@@CowsGoM3owNew features is always nice to get but it could have been so much smaller and portable without that extra plastic. If you go to their website, you’ll see that the river 3 max has a smaller external battery than this one shown in the video. It’s about the same size of the river 2 pro with that smaller battery. Height of river 2 pro is 8.9inches. If you add both unit and battery dimensions assuming the’re the same size from what I can see in this video, river 3 max + comes at 11.6inches for a similar sized battery. That’s what’s bottering me, portability.
Hopefully you're trying to be funny. I'm sure it has Bluetooth Wi-Fi and comes with a warranty and has a charge controller and pure sine wave inverter and DC outputs and USB outputs and AC input and a screen that tells you everything with app connectivity. Totally the same thing. Lol
Ecoflow River 3 plus's design is great but need some improvements and i think river 3 pro will come with these improvements.. * USB perpheral should be increased..Like 1. USB A 2 ports : One port is 100 watt compatible, one is for standard 18 watt 2. USB TYPE C 3 ports : One port is 140 watt or above , another one is 100 watt and the last one is 30 watt capable (support samsung, iphone , xiaomi etc charging protocol). 140 watt or above port should be input and output capable.. * If upper light position causes problem to see the screen then make it in two side with separate buttons..Light is a very eye catching feature.. * give 900 or slightly above watt inverter if possible.. ( for electric cooking appliances that dont need so much time to cook something)..give good capable inverter... * make less external battery or avoid it and give public a flexible option to increase the capacity cheaply. make a option to charge and discharge 12v battery secretly which makes public happy and this will make people to buy the main unit greatly...
