somber topic made way more palatable by a few well placed jokes delivering such an engaging lecture in-spite evident difficulties with the language is very impressive indeed, my dear professor.

He doesn't seem to have any difficulties with the language, beyond his accent.

I guess I do see some stuttering here and there, but it is by no means clear that this is a struggle with language. Like when he says "France appropriates Belgium fries". That is perfect English, way better than how half of America would put it. More importantly, tons of English speakers who have no problems with English also stutter. From Elon Musk to many others. I stuttered for a long time and still do sometimes, but it has nothing to do with English being a difficulty for me.

I am really confused by his figures. If you look at the chart for "all developing countries" it has dropped from 3.1% in the 60s-80s to 1.7% in the 80s-00s or 2.7% in the 80s-10s but if you look at 2000-2010 it is at 4.6% which his even higher before. Some regions have even risen if you look at it from the 60s to the 2010s but most regions had fluctuations. If you take into account all these fluctuations it is not as clear as it seems. But that's just a minor objection in an otherwise interesting lecture! And I agree with him on the sadness of neglecting the development of productivity although it would be smart to fund or support more sustainable modes of development.

I think he explained that the increase in the 2000-2010 is due to China's growth during that period
