Thank you for doing some discussions about why you are performing certain actions. It helps for those unfamiliar with the game to understand what and why certain actions are taken. This is a great game! Nice work John!
Was the rhino card nerfed? The onscreen version says 3 and 5, but the player only claimed 2 and 3. The "points for separating the landmasses" card at the end needs a huge hit with the nerf hammer lol
Looks like the graphic was wrong, at 8:09 it showed a different graphic that does say play a card and it was the one that needed 2 different plants but the one to gain a card needs sun and rock.
At 41:23 and I think other times too, Xander rotates a card in the wrong direction potentially getting too many uses out of that card. Seems like a pretty easy mistake to make.
I think that my favorite G&S personality at this point is Xander. I have such a huge platonic crush on them! I wanna be best friends and play games and drink tea and giggle foolishly.
A bit fiddly game(keeping track for rotating cards) with a pretty steep learning curve for those thinking of grabbing(so many cards you dont see and know how they fit together) Found myself slightly bored waiting ok others for activations with the engine building. Space base is much more accessible and has a quicker flow. Haven't played one of his games and felt like I would play it over and over again.
I do realize it's probably for camera reasons, but why do John and Xander get half a table each, while Becca and Pisha have to sit in each other's lap? XD
Isn't it better to be open about it? And isn't it good to have someone who really knows the game on to play, especially one as complicated as Ecos? (For that matter, Tabletop wasn't paid content and they had Steve Jackson on to play Munchkin.) Sometimes you even get an insight or two into why the rules are what they are. It also helps takes some of the weight off of Becca, both as a player (game creator is even bigger target than show host) and as host (can focus more on elements other than rules management). I like it when they get a designer on the show.
@@danhenry9108 I guess that's what I mean when I say I'm in two minds. I don't know if it's better to be open about their corporate strings, or if it's better to just...play games with friends. 🤷🏼♀️ I think, on balance, I'd prefer the conceit that we're just watching friends play - we're such a far cry from how this channel started out, it makes me sad sometimes. I liked the way they structured the Betrayal Legacy series: playing the game with friends, and then the deep dive interview with Rob Daviau once the series was done.
I agree, I mean the knowledge is great but tbh they tend to be kinda boring (with a few exceptions) as guests. Also there's the thing about playing games that aren't even out yet. I backed Trial by trolley and the expected release is in January. Yet they played it on the show a few weeks back.
I clicked on this video to watch the game being played and determine if this is a game i would like (mission accomplished) It does not matter to me who is playing the game or if they were paid to do so. P.s. I thought the game looked like fun.
