My stepmom was from Plainfield and Ed Gein babysat her and her twin sister. She said he was really nice. 🤷🏻♀️ He was good with his brother’s step kids too.
I found this information really interesting. I wonder if Ed has some compassion for little children therefore making him a good babysitter. Whereas the experience he has with his mother , made him filled with rage at any women that would represent "Mother". His rage was specific.
How old was your stepmother and her sister at this point? I"m wondering if perhaps Ed may have been mildly attracted to them... If so, they definitely dodged a bullet. Or maybe a missle.
@Wee Mac It's when you abuse the ideals of religion and get it all twisted to suit your own narcissistic needs, which is what Ed Gein's mother did. She clearly had her own problems which she heavily projected onto Ed. For that reason she is one of the worst parents I have ever heard of. If you project your own sh*t onto your children, they'll grow up twisted and end up ruining their own lives, other's lives, etc. This is why I believe it is EXTREMELY important to have your sh*t together if you want to have kids. If you don't, I'd want to advise those people to put any plans about kids on hold until they have it TOGETHER.
I wonder what Eds grandparents were like? To make Eds mother be like she was to him. Most ppl know a lot of ppl who abuse others wouldve been abused themselves.
vik Witch that’s what I came to the comment section to see. What in the world was wrong with her? I wonder what happened to her? It makes me think did her mother preach to her the perils of being a loose women.
@@jimmybeam5445 No it is not a joke. Haven't you heard the old joke about how people used to go into a bar and order an "Ed Gein beer"? "All body and no head".
Again, very fascinating horrible story, I could only imagine being a care taker at the mental health hospital where he was housed. I worked at a state hospital before and know people who have done horrible gory things but you would have never known how awful they were in society. I bet it was an odd feeling for his care takes to be around a fella that portrays an outward appearance to be a model patient but has a horrific past....... thanks agin for such a smooth narration🙃
Growing up in Milwaukee WI, I knew about Ed Gein at an early age. One because of my grandmothers love of the dark and scary like Alfred Hitchcock, but also because of what was found in Jeffrey Dahmer's apartment. After that, Wisconsin serial killers was a popular topic. My mother had a number of encounters with him at the video store she worked at and my grandmother worked with him. She still maintains to this day that he was a "good man." As far as Ed Gein goes, she always said that he loved his mother too much and it was her fault he turned out the way he did. Thank you for telling this one. You are a fantastic narrator! This is definitely your calling! It's like Scary Stories to tell in the Dark, but better! And true!
It's not the mother's fault. I think he was loopy from day born. Millions of mothers have been like his mother and sons, daughters never became killers.
It was probably a combination of things. His mother, fathers abandonment, his isolation and feelings of guilt over sexual feelings , and the untreated mental issues he has that were caused by these things
How the fuck can she refer to his crazy murdering ass as "a good man"??? WTF is wrong with some people? I'm sure if he did what he did to you or someone else in your family I highly doubt she'd feel the same way. Pretty disrespectful to the poor souls he murdered thats for sure.
Ted Bundy seemed like a real, nice, guy, too. He even volunteered for suicide hotlines and would walk his co-volunteer to her car at night to make sure she was okay. That's how psychopaths fool people. He and Dahmer had the same fetish of cutting off the victims head after having sex with the dead bodies of their victims. I don't seen science every figuring out this pathology. Psychopaths are born.
Ed Gein is a prime example of how bad parenting can affect children. Of course it's the mothers fault. The brutal behavior of the father towards the family didn't help either but the way she treated him with her religious bullshit alone, saying that all women are whores , that sex is a sin and should only be had for the sole purpose of reproduction without any pleasure.... this is also a good example why religion should be banned. Or at least extreme devotion towards it.
New to Oddie and this video is my first cameo sighting made more fun by learning you saw and commented on it too. I'll be looking more closely moving forward!
I also like the personal touches Oddie puts in all the videos! Saw one last night that said "Oddie's Bonbons". As I am hearing impaired I really enjoy your videos dear man, with the whole script to read myself. Thank you for producing superb videos!! Be safe please.
@@ObsoleteOddity Must have been flame lights, since was no electricity and what others have said in videos is that he'd bring back phonographs, why no one really knows. Was an absolute ridiculous amount of squalor (like reversed rubbish disposal essentially is what one person said, are some photographs of it as well on the Internet) for the bits he lived in (up to about three of the rooms), though he'd locked I think his mothers room and left it exactly as she'd left it
I’ve been to Plainfield several times, it’s still somewhat creepy. My father collected antiques, so I ended up with some period postcards and other items related to Ed.
Linda Deavours Didn’t he used to babysit for some people, as part of one of his odd jobs to help the family when father was out of work? Seems like that was mentioned somewhere in the video. Yikes 😬
Just trying to imagine how innocent (in some ways) and different a world it must have been back then to think it was a Good Idea to have the town's strange loner guy who lives in a creepy house outside town babysit your children.
regardless of the creep and his peculiarities I could never imagine then, of course not now ever letting any man care for my children. All through out time it has never been a good idea to do so as I believe regardless of the era there has always been sickness and danger. It's no different then verses now.
@deborah stroman - You're right. I was born in 1960. My mother would have NEVER let a man babysit her two young daughters. Not then, not ever. This is one instance where different era's, different social mindsets remain the same. But think about it...a place that can produce someone like Ed Gein isn't going to have the brightest bulbs in the bag! There must be something in the water in Wisconsin...

Just off of what we heard of Ed before he completely went off the deep end, I can see where folks would trust him to baby sit. He is described as hard working, responsible, clean living, church goer. Plus he looked gentle, and was shy. In all the publicity I haven't read or heard anything that said he wasn't a good sitter. Thank goodness!
I became a Patreon tonight! You have far too few of them and it was shocking. I can't afford much as I'm a single mother of two boys but if more people just donated a dollar a month imagine how amazing Oddie's page could become. Some people make more in Patreon a month than I do in a year. I think the smaller yet very gifted creators deserve more! I know it's never easy to ask for help so I hope that more people begin supporting your art.
Thank you so much for your support Sherri - very much appreciated! Yes I've seen the crazy amount some channels get, and if I'm honest...I often don't think their content is worth it. But hey, that's my opinion, lol Thank you for believing in me friend...and by showing it. Bless you.

"He had to save his energy for the fleshy delights ahead." Thanks. Thanks for getting me into Ed Gein's head space.... don't know what i expected but i didn't want to be there. Another excellent video.🎉
People just wander through life presuming that everyone's the same as they are. Of course, all of us are different and *SOME* of us are mfin' freakazoids! Dayum!
Oh, Creepy Joy! I thought I knew the story of Ed Gein, but the details provided in this video add a new dimension to this already strange story. BTW, I LOL'd over the "Taters" sign at the grocery. I'd be hesitant to purchase them without a personal guarantee from Oddie that they wouldn't sprout actually FUNCTIONAL eyes if I let them sit too long! ;-)
gryphonshire yeah I thought I had heard and seen everything on Ed because he's an American horror icon. Psycho and Silence of the Lambs and many other books and movies are out there now. Oddie put a spin on it all.
gryphonshire...absolutely agree! Have seen many docs + B rated movies about Eddie sick bastard Gein. This vid was the best I've seen. Oddie always delivers!!
I love these videos... his voice (even though the topic is so horrific) really helps to get my mind off of things... I just get hypnotized and drawn in and I needed it the last couple of weeks. Been in utter depression and can not get my mind off of what is going on. Watching this was the first time I stopped dwelling for a few minutes and could finally relax and forget about things for a minute... My condolences to Gena's family and friends Keeping Erin & Natalie in my thoughts.... ❤️
Sorry to hear about your depression Deb - a lot of us have been there at one time or another. Hope it lifts soon. Glad my vid could take you away from it for a while.
I hope you start to feel better soon! I had a similar reaction to the video today. Dealing with some things in life and it was very nice to have this distraction. He makes wonderful videos. I know you probably hear all sorts of pep talks from people, but Dory gives the best advice of all! Just keep swimming!
I hope you have lots of patreon's supporting your work, I would, but I'm still without a job. You have a wonderful channel, don't ever want to see it go away because lack of funds.
Thank you so much dear friend! That's lovely feedback! Please don't worry about donating money, I know you're in between jobs at the moment - wishing the best of luck in a finding a good job. Have a great weekend :)
So sad and frightening ; it’s amazing how forced celibacy, extreme religious beliefs forced upon children can really impact in the worst way -people. It seems that the most twisted of outcomes stems from child abuse which I’m my mind includes isolation and all the various emotional abuses as well as physical if course but also spoiling -which means not holding a child accountable etc leads to narcissism, sociopathic behaviors and so on. Thank you for the history lesson on this gruesome and tragic case.
I'm going to guess there's an equal or greater number of kids who were raised _without_ religion who are sick in the head -- and plenty who are brought up both ways that become honest, decent people. After all, his brother sounds like a perfectly normal guy, and he was raised the same. So what I _really_ wonder is, was there maybe something more that used to happen we don't know about in that household? They were really private people, and child abuse wasn't talked about much. Did his Dad abuse them? Did his mother look the other way? Was there something that happened on the way home from school to him one day -- or repeatedly? When you hear about some of these extremely private people who go on to do horrifying things, you sometimes have to wonder if there is more to the story than just what gets told to the public....
ObsoleteOddity Thank you! I'm fairly obsessed with the Victorian period and I loved the idea of the "penny dreadful" illustrated periodicals, so I changed the spelling and started using it as a name years ago. ☺ I truly adore your channel!
That witch mom is responsible for son's downfall. He wasn't allowed to socialize or interact normally with other kids since young age. She was so possessive & obsessive about the brothers. It's a sad sad life to lead. Suffocating to chance to breathe. Oddie, thanks for your outstanding research & narration. I am trembling right now just thinking of the horrors on dead female bodies....
ODDIE MY FRIEND, AS USUAL EXQUISITELY WELL CRAFTED VIDEO...I, WAS LOOKING AT ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS, WHEN YOUR UPLOAD CAME.ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO GET A NEW VIDEO!!.AND LISTEN TO YOUR, CALMING LOVELY VOICE...ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU..
"The gases that had built up found freedom in the night air"....Great line! This was a great video. You should be on TV. Ed Gein was a real nut case...he probably inherited his insanity from his mother and her religious fanaticism drove him over the edge. I'm glad his home burnt down to the ground. The earth is probably sour on that spot. Keep on doing what you do. You are a genius!
Hello again Oddy, just wanted to chime in and tell you how much I liked this video. Although it feels kind of weird to like this stuff;) I am from Wisconsin and have been through Plainfield many times, next time I go through I’m going to make it a point to stop at the cemetery. I’ll take and share some pics. I wanted to tell you that over the years I’ve viewed/read many things about Ed, and to date yours is by for the most informative. I learned a couple things that I hadn’t heard before and I’d have to say you do a really good job with your research. Love the work, keep it up:)
¬ the notification arrives, I saw, was amazed and intrigued . . . . ~ the video was very well done (per usual) in addition with your narrative, it just made the visual experience just more interesting. ~ I proceeded to your Patreon page and now I am supporting! ~ Keep up the fantastic work!
The Gein story is rather heavily represented within the American horror film genre. I can think of at least 14 right off-hand, there are undoubtedly more. In addition to the films already named, films like House of 1000 Corpses, Hannibal, and even the first season of American Horror Story: Murder House draw heavily upon the Gein story.
Yes. Jame Gumb, a.k.a. "Buffalo Bill" in 'Silence of the Lambs' was based on 3 infamous killers, Ed Gein, (skin suit)- Ted Bundy (asking for help, so victims were distracted) and Gary M.Heidnick (held victims captive in basement).
I have a poster from The Devil's Rejects that says something like "Murder Ride" Kids get in half price! Come see Ed Gein, Albert Fish, & Dr. Satan. It's actually a Captain Spaulding poster from the movie
Ed Gein's story has always fascinated me. Sounds like he was probably Transgender and obviously had mommy issues. A little trivia some may not know; The movies "Psycho" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" were loosely inspired from Gein's atrocities. Another awesome video. Thank you for sharing!
And don’t forget Silence of the Lambs! Interesting about the inappropriate laughter, I never knew that about him. Makes me think of Joker, another favorite movie of mine!
Prayers Erin and Natalie . RIP Gina and Shout out to the Medical Staff. My wife is a trauma nurse and Nurses keep the hospital running and the patients comfortable
That is extremely creepy because it's true. You are a great narrator. Thank you for telling this story of Ed Gein. I had heard of him and knew some of what he had done but not to this extent. Wow he was a very creepy man.
Thanks for this. I first heard of Gein during silence of the lambs. I have been binge watching your videos but truly my favourite ones are you dictating them. Your voice is so calm it makes the horrors worse in my opinion. I am going to support you with money soon when times are easier. Sadly I can't today and I can support you by sharing your video. Thank you for your time and amazing effort.
Ed you have brought horror to the next level in youtube. The history and storytelling voice make your stories standout! Love the work that you're doing. Hope American Horror would pick up one of your stories.
Oh I love this story! It is so creepy and relatively close to where I live. This man was seriously deranged and yet no one knew...good video, Oddie! Thanks for the upload!
I'm the last 3 days, I think I have watched 12 to15 of your videos. I'm hooked! I love the way you explain things, your grammar, your clever wit. It's all very perfect. Thank you for giving all us weirdos something to do late at night!
What attracts us to horror? I think for some of us it gives us something to help us try and understand the horrors in the world around us from crime and other situations. Others find it a relief from their own lives, many of these are those who are living in horrific situations. Still others of us find it a relief from the pain in our lives whether physical or mental, mostly caused by diseases. There's something to be said to the thought things could be worse so that makes today easier to bare. Yet, the horrors of real-life are far worse than anything on the silver screen. Look at what this man did...he was the inspiration of more than one horror film series. So many were most likely saved by him being stopped when he was. Thanks for this wonderful documentary Oddie. Be Safe!
So many factors that cause Ed to go to the route his chose in this life. :( I love horror films, because they show true human nature when allowed to be unleashed, without any rules. It also showcases the contemporary ideologies and beliefs of the time they are made. For example, Dracula demonstrates Victorian sexual oppression and desire. Frankenstein is the dangers of science and technology when they aren't questioned or checked. Hellraiser (this is my own thoughts of it) deals with the 1980s obsession with conservative mentality of family value, what is appropriate sexual desires, and what is consider appropriate relationships with others (the Lemarchands' box/lament configuration/ puzzle box being the Pandora box; just be careful what you think of at the moment you solve the puzzle). There are many other symbolism and thoughts of what makes us want to watch horror films or be drawn into the macabre. I've been into this dark side of humanity since childhood. For me it is a way to cope with the nasty nature of what others had done to me. Makes me have a better understanding of cruel, bullying, harassing individuals in my own life. :3
Everyone has a shadow side and it's best to be aware of it to better understand ourselves. When you don't know why you have done something, it is said to come from the shadow.
It's not even 5:00am and I am having trouble sleeping. I was excited, as always, to see a notification pop up for a new video. Ed Gein's story is one I know well. But you tell it best! Thank you for another quality video. ✌️❤️✌️Prayers for your friend 🙏🙏😇🙏🙏
New to this channel and love it! Tell me, do you dramatise parts of these (describing the laughter of the police officers, for example) or do you base it on reliable sources? Just curious.
Wow Oddy.....this was truly wild....loved it. A side note you do too much for us all, I'm not saying we don't love it. but please don't work yourself into the grave,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and a note, we are sending healing to your friend in hospital......good luck and bless you all.......cheers
My great uncle would make a point to bring up Ed Gein every time my grandmother would carve the roast at the table. He thought it was hilarious. It wasn’t quite so funny to her of course.😬
As a female myself, in my HONEST opinion Ed was NOT a bad looking man when he was younger. He could have found a nice looking young lady and have had a normal life with her. HOWEVER, he did have a sick mind. So sad!!! Thanks for another great story! BTW, it seems that I have heard about this story before.
@Kat Slat - I'm sure you've heard of Ed Gein before. Oddie pronounced his name wrong, saying "gyne" instead of "geen". Ed Gein was the inspiration behind many horror movies like "Psycho" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". There were even two movies out directly about Ed Gein. One in 2000 starring Steve Railsback who played Gein and in 2007 Kane Hodder played Gein. I also understand that that the character "Buffalo Bill" in "Silence of the Lambs" was based on Gein. 'Ole Eddie is a favorite subject in the horror genre which does leak over into the "normal" world occasionally.
FrankiesFancy Actually, the correct pronunciation of the name is “Gyne” just exactly as Oddie pronounced it. That is the correct GERMAN pronunciation of the name.
If you want to know the answer.. It is because they are censoring content they deem to be in their eyes inappropriate which leads to hypocrisy on their part. They are trying to abolish free speech in favor of a mind control. So basically if some serial censorist on the other end doesn't like what you post or say, bye bye channel.
They have a family friendly aspect? Weird then I have to wonder just why I had to closely supervise my cousins kids when watching cat videos. As in sitting right there also watching cat videos with them. I've never considered RU-vid as all family friendly at all. Period. Although there are some things on here that are family friendly.
BTW - in the early part of the video Oddie explains that Ed was prone to inappropriate outbursts of laughter which is actually indicative of neurological disorder(s). As many - if not most - mental illnesses can be physiologically demonstrable through specific brain scans, it's very likely he'd suffered from very early on from some mental malady. Add in the controlling and manipulative nature of his mother and his father's alcoholism with an unhealthy dose of religious fanaticism and it isn't difficult to see how he turned out the way he did.
I wish what I’m about to say could be sourced but a famous documentary filmmaker actually conducted and filmed hours of interviews with Ed sometime in the mid-70s. My memory is telling me it’s the director of ‘Fog of War’ about former defense secretary Robert McNamara but I could very well be misremembering. This sounded so fascinating that I found a way to email him and urge him to release the film. I got a very courteous reply from his agent saying that yes the film does exist. Apparently it triggered a clash of lawyers which the agent was unable to get into. I was left with a ‘maybe someday’. Given what a legend he’s become it’s amazing I’ve never even heard his voice and the urge to hear the most disturbed killer in history explain himself is undeniable.
Wow, that was the best documentary I have watched on Ed...I have seen quite a few on the history channel. I wonder if he helped his brother on to greater glory? I guess there is a lot that old Ed took to his grave. Very well put together and narrated!!! I love watching these while i am cooking supper in the evening...so far nothing has burned!!!ahahah
Oh Oddie Beau!!!!! Your unedited content is worth the very reasonable cost of supporting you on Patreon!!!!! Thank you SO much for this option!!!!! I know it is very time consuming to edit these videos and I speak for most when I say we love them and you for all your har work!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
Prayers to your friend and everyone that is suffering with cancer. God bless them they are very strong people to deal with that. I'm currently waiting on the kidney transplant list nowhere near as bad as cancer.
Loved this video, serial killers have always fascinated me and gein is one that stands out due to the movies loosely based on him. Definitely think his environment was a product of his behaviour.
I have watched a couple of American doco programs about Ed Gein neither of them were quite this in depth about his macabre activities, so thank you for your efforts on that score Oddie, job well done!
"The gases that had built up found freedom in the night air".... Yeah, after a big evening meal and a beer, sounds like a familiar routine to me, a brief walk after dinner.
You tell the story so well. Ive been watching as many of your videos as i can. Honestly, yours are my favorite. No one else really puts me into the story as you. I can fall asleep watching other peoples videos. Please keep it up. Loving them!!
@@ObsoleteOddity your very welcome! Im loving your work. Its like a little movie in my head. You should wright a book! Id read it. Your a very talented story teller. I cant get enough.
Mother dearest, in my opinion, had a very important role in William's demise. He had been dead for quite some time, much longer than the fire had burned. Gein absolutely worshiped his mother. To hear his own flesh and blood brother talk about the person their mother truly was, coupled with mother's severe anger and judgement of his brother was all that was needed. She taught him that fornicators are to be punished. He was around 38 years old when he lit that fire. Of all the fires they had lit during their lives, that was the ONLY fire to go "out of control". Of all the fires he lit from that murder onward, it remained the only fire of which he "lost control". What one would imagine Jason Vorhees from the fictional Friday the 13th movie franchise would do for his mother, so would Gein have done. Sorry, decided for some nostalgia tonight and revisit these excellent episodes. lol
Yes he definitely killed his brother Henry . He was responsible for the disappearance of several people who went unaccounted for as well .There were remains of several people unearthed in Eds backyard later after his arrest . That fact was largely kept unpublicized .
@@merileeboubard694 correct. It was being vandalized and was stolen shortly after placement. It was recovered a few years later in Seattle, Washington from a gentleman that was operating, from what I could understand, a traveling Oddities Roadshow. People were also chipping away pieces of Augusta's head stone as well but her headstone is still in place. You can still to this day go to the burial site and see where people are taking dirt from the surface where Ed is buried. It is said that he is buried between his brother and his mother. I'm not sure of the accuracy though simply because of the publicity the case got. I feel like they would have put him somewhere else just in case someone got the idea to go exhume and steal his body. I feel like maybe they would have put him in a mausoleum instead of in the ground. Somewhere that the average person would not have access to the body

Hello Oddie, How are you doing today? I'm well as I can be under my self quarantined women can be. I loved your Ed Gein story, even with all the cups, made out of body parts, lamp shades made out of human flesh, nipples, and vaginas etc... Oh My !! Anyway, I remember in the 70's there were many gay men that came up missing many. I don't remember a lot because I was just a child. What I do remember is the case happened here in Houston,Texas. I know there were at least two male perpetrators, and they were tried separately. I don't remember the outcome, but my money 💵is on GUILTY !! I remember the names, I think they were Elmer Wayne Henley, Dean Coral and there's one other guy I can't remember the 3rd guys name. I just thought maybe you can. Also, I'd really like to know the real story behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not the one the movies sensationalized back in the 70's and the others that came out after them. Just something to do. Lol, I Really need to go outside, and do something, anything before I lose it ! 😵
Actually, Leatherface was based on Ed Gein. Most of the most horrific murder movies are. Including Psycho, and Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs, and the crazy family in House of 1,000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. ✌😸
Thank you for sharing this. I've read several books on Ed Gein and did not know about his brother. This is exactly why I like to read several books concerning non-fiction. Very interesting and I love your voice.

My friend I DO NOT know about why the human is so fascinated with it (Gore and Horror). If I could actually figure that out... I maybe stop watching these things. I am trying to figure out the variables in the human that perpetuates such an individual as Ed Gein, or Dahmer, Gacy ...etc! I have come to believe that there are two different people that are obsessed ... those like me trying to figure out how and why... and those that get a different thrill called ghouls. I will not speak for them I cannot. I forgo the real explicit pics. I mostly just listen to you. I appreciate your work as you do not sensationalize and glorify these people but give the facts.
I found an article online that stated basically, that the reason for our enjoyment of films, books and television shows of the horror genre come from the pleasure of experiencing an adrenaline rush while safe. We also have an innate enjoyment of these videos and books because of something called the excitation transfer process, which is all about how the psychological arousal lingers after we watch a horror movie without our even realising it. Men may tend to enjoy these movies more as they are socialised to be brave. To be clear, I don't mean to say that men are braver than women because i can confidently say, as a female (I realise that it says my name is Stephen Morgan but I just do not have a youtube account. I am writing this comment from my father's account so thank you Dad.), that claim has no basis in fact. I simply mean to imply that men are used to being expected to be brave in today's society and possibly enjoy showing off said bravery. They are socialised to enjoy scary things. Some people like these things because they are so clear cut from the mundane, so innately different than our everyday experiences, and they can help us to get our minds off of our own personal issues. For some of these same reasons, certain people (Including myself and since you're reading this, I can assume yours truly) enjoy murder documentaries and mysteries, as well as things like the ObsoleteOddity historical features. As far as documentaries go, some people (Again, including me) also enjoy solving mysteries on their own as they go, making wild guesses as to the identity of the perpetrator, the method which they used to pull off their crime, etc. Wow, good job for making it to the end of my insaneky long post, you should treat yourself to some french fries.
Evil is fascinating. Ed Gein is one of the most Evil people I've read about. As for RU-vid,your channel isn't the only one they want to control. Your channel is terrific btw. Hope you can keep it going.
Thank you so much for all your time And energy on these videos. I know your worried about RU-vid and there need to clean up All the "nasty" or "horrible" photo placed on RU-vid, but it doesn't take much to Google the photos you spoke of. It's history and I find the more we try to cover it up the more it's looked for. You as always have made a great video, I look forward to more, when I can, I will be making you the first and only one I will support through pateron. That's just how much I am devoted to your channel
Oddie, when the algorithm suggested this I had already seen a dozen accounts of this horrible situation. I’ve passed on it repeatedly from other creators, I wasn’t seeing anything new or informative. I am blown away again, wonderful work, now I really can finally close the book on it. Until I watch this one again. Love and light!
Oddie, I love your videos. On occasion I like to be creeped out or learn something new that's on the dark side. When I'm in that mood, I go to your channel. ❤️ Hey, btw I've had some creepy dating experiences. Maybe there's a good story there! Lol 😂😂
I am thrilled to see another video from you. I know you have done some unsolved mystery videos and I suggested a video from you about H.H. Holmes aka Herman Mudgett and too many other aliases to list. His great great grandson is currently doing a television show trying to prove that H.H. Holmes was also Jack the Ripper. I imagine doing that particular video would be beneficial especially with the timing and interest about that show right now. The evidence supporting him as being a good suspect for the Ripper killings is rather interesting. It definitely seems like something you could do a great video about. I plan to join your patreon as soon as I am able to do it. I can't right now, but it is on my list of plans for this month or next month. I don't believe I will watch more graphic versions, but the added historical features has me rather intrigued. I don't quite understand how one of your videos gets dislikes, because they are all beautifully done. I enjoy them more than any of this sort. I am glad you will continue to make them. I hope that the issues with the ad revenue don't continue to deteriorate until it is no longer feasible to make these videos and share them with us. Thank you for mentioning your friend who has cancer. It was a touching shout out and one which I imagine was well received by her. Please keep us informed about how she and her friend are doing in the future. I wish them both well.
Hey Angela! Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed it :) I do plan to make a video about H.H. Holmes eventually, but I don't believe he was Jack the Ripper. Thank you for your offer possible future support, much appreciated :) All videos on RU-vid get dislikes, there are often reasons people thumb a video down...they don't like it - they're envious because their own channel is not getting views - if I reply to their comment, and it annoys them - the subject matter has touched a raw nerve...and sometimes people thumb down because it gives them a sense of power which they lack in real life. But I'm very lucky, the amount of thumbs up far outweigh the petty thumbs down - that makes it all worthwhile! :) If you look at the comment I've pinned at the top of the comments list, it's from Erin herself - you could give her your good wishes personally.
Oh I would love to have you do a video about who you suspect was Jack the Ripper. I have heard another name thrown about as a possible suspect. He was a serial killer from Australia. His name escapes me at the moment. I'll remember it later when I am trying to fall asleep.
Why did the mother turn away outsiders so they couldn't "influence" her son's. When one was already flap ass crazy!!! How ironic! Ed probably killed his brother Henry as well.
Yay!!! Another offering from Oddie...I didn't know you sidelined in taters. Great film and photo segments for this, and, as usual your narrative was spot on. Ive always been weirdly fascinated by the Ed Gein story, and wondered just how he got twisted in quite the way he did. I do hope you are enjoying the fruit season as Summer begins to slowly wane. Thanks for this....you always manage to satisfy, and make even the most gruesome of tales a little poignant. You helped me begin my day because I was too impatient to wait until tonight to view this....perhaps it will get a second screening before bed....🖤🇨🇦
ObsoleteOddity its always a pleasure to find a notification that you have a new post....they tend to arrive just about the time I am getting Oddie withdrawal haha. I'm trying to work my way through becoming a Patreon with a monthly gift to you, and I dont want rewards, your work is reward enough. Once I have figured it out I will let you know 💖🇨🇦
ObsoleteOddity Hello oddy I was just wondering if have you ever thought about doing a video about the German man that was a homosexual cannibal he went online to a website called cannibal cafe met a guy and ate him. I believe they both indulged in eating his genitals but not sure. If not I am sure your subscribers would love to see you do a documentary about him
Kenneth Desmond Mosley , it's called Silence of the Lamb. It is loosely based on this story. Honestly, I had hoped it was just some weird writer's story.
My daughter’s mother in law just diagnosed with cancer, during this COVID crisis. Big prayers for her, as well as your peeps mentioned. For ALL in battle, right now..
I find this stuff interesting but I can't watch horror movies lol. I even have to take a break from this stuff every so often because I get too paranoid lol. Thanks for sharing this stuff!
I'm from Wisconsin and really found the story very interesting. Not a big deal, but his last name is pronounced "geen", as rhyming with "seen". Keep up the good work!
