Ed Piskor’s Demise Was Due To Cancel Culture 

I was at Ed's funeral today. I met him years ago through a friend and he was the nicest guy. By chance, we found out that both of our fathers worked as bricklayers in the same steel mill in Homestead, PA. I made the effort to find his dad today and tell him who my father was. When I told him my last name, his face lit up and he got a huge smile on his face, all the while we both held onto each other's arms. I lost my father two years ago and Ed's dad made me feel like my father was holding on to my arm. I really hope that I was able to bring just one second of joy into this old man's heart considering the tragedy of losing his son. God bless Ed's salt-of-the-earth family, and let this be a lesson to those who delight in the practice of "shaming" people. Cancel culture needs to be CANCELLED.

Encourage Molly to share the rest of that conversation. Not just well manicured screenshots. I know that she deleted her Instagram, but she had to make those screenshots. Meaning, I wouldn't be surprised if the unedited versions are on her phone inless she got a completely new device. It seems obvious that there was weird stuff going on coming from both sides, but we're not getting the whole story and people have been really irresponsible in their attempts to "report the truth."

Ed Piskor wasn't just bullied. He was canceled in the truest sense of the word. He friends turned their backs on him. The whisper network made sure he would never work again in his chosen profession. His local newspaper published an article repeating the online gosip without verifying any of it, ensuring he would never get a job in any profession. To get destroyed over something that happened four years ago is ridiculous. No laws were broken. The screenshots his accuser published didn't show any indecent behavior on Piskor's part. Because his accuser was 17 turning 18 and a senior in high school, Pislor was accused of being a groomer. Grooming is a terrible accusation to make against someone. It essentially means to be nice to someone so that in the future, they will want to have a sexual relationship. Just being nice to someone is not evidence of grooming.

We are killing our culture! I never thought the comic book culture that I grew up loving could be so dark!

Red Room wasn’t Ed. He was a fan of Faust, which was the largest influence for Red Room. Saying he had “demons” is ridiculous. Did Wes Craven have “demons” since he created Freddy Kruger?

Great video! Ed always liked and commented as much as he could on any post I did on IG of a book of his. It's so sad and he will be missed. RIP Ed!

JDA harrassed Ed on RU-vid and was super excited on Twitter he chases Ed away and then after he was gone blamed the otherside as if they were at fault. He just wanted to monetize EP life and now his death. EVS dogged Ed and after blames others for what happens. The worst part is these people targeted him to stoke rage to grift and now they want people to pat them on the back for being sad he is gone just so they can make more money of him. Pretty damn sick honestly.

All the big comic book RU-vidrs would rather talk about how much they hate Disney 3 times a day. RIP Ed.

For the record, Ed said his Red Room series was a horror comic. To me, it looked like it was in the tradition of Japanese and even. EC horror! I'm not into "gross out" comics myself so this is a clarification not an endorsement! On Cancel Culture... I wish internet folks would remember they are NOT journalists and that journalism requires training, among which-- getting the facts correct!

Yes two major issues. One is the irresponsible virtue signal bandwagoning before any proper investigation or legal process has been conducted. The absolute heartlessness and witch burning. Here is what is happening. I have an a##hole like this in my Own family. They are rushing out of the gate to declare their absolute hate for a crime or behavior and make their stand known on the topic (which is fine) but they are doing it while emotionally unchecked. But they are not doing it in a way to NOT make someone ACCUSED the POSTER image of that rant and take no pause to find out whether or not a barking public actually knows what the FK they are talking about. Suddenly these pieces of worthlessness make the judgement and start breaking down the individual as to how they look and how they speak and how creepy or shadey one is. ITS FKG SICK. But it goes unchecked and does tremendous damage long before anything is really determined. And many of the hateful little Gools are so fkd up and socially handicapped themselves it staggers the imagination. The other major issue is the saddest one still. We lost a person whose whole life and love represented Comic books. Ed's passion and even obsession with this topic brought a unique expression and insight into our lives when sitting down with a RU-vid video with his partner Jimmy R. He conducted A very simple approach to examining books with the watchers pulling out all sorts of gems and observances from the mind so fully in love with this medium. Ed was Ed. And he could be heard saying something hard or even shocking one moment and then being vulnerable enough to express openly to the audience what he as an artist might find difficult rendering as he flipped through someone else's work. What a loss. I hope this leaves the public learning something that will change the way a##holes respond to allegations in the future, but I must be honest. I really doubt it. They love to engage in dehumanizing a target. I can't help but think there may be something waiting for these goblins on the other side of this life for such destructive and derogatory speech . But this is our world isnt it. This is a matter of the character of individuals and not their Intellect. This shouldn't be about legislation on line but more about giving people a taste of their own medicine as the contributors to Ed's Tragedy. Yup. Keep talking A##holes. Lowlife, envious, bottom feeding roaches. We all pay the price as a unit.

Yep i commented on that guys channel and that last video he did. He trashed him every way, and the day ed died the guy put up a video about how sad it was.

Writing The Red Room or any other horror IP does not always mean the writer has demons. We all have a dark side or dark thoughts, that doesn’t mean we have demons. Creativity is the ability to come up with ideas - both general and unique. Or it can be the ability to express yourself through any medium that you choose, such as poetry, art, music, etc. Ed was an artist plain and simple. And cancel culture put so much pressure and harassment to his family up to the point he was so weighed down by guilt to his family for having to deal with the cancel mob (NOT guilt for any wrong doing because he didn’t do anything wrong, he exercised bad judgement at worst). And the way mainstream media is portraying this is disgusting. Entertainment Weekly starts their article with “accused by multiple women” denoting that there are more then two alleged victims which in the public’s mind are actual victims.

You gotta be a strong as hell to survive this world's attacks and artists are often sensitive. RIP Ed, you will be missed.

I wasn’t sure if you would do a video on Ed Piskor as I’ve never heard you mention Cartoonist Kayfabe but I’m glad you felt moved to do so based on his work and having met him in person.

The most frustrating thing for me is he could have easily pivoted from all this. He did something creepy, but that's literally how far it goes, nothing more. He could have gone silent for a few months and come back. Another frustating thing is how some scummy RU-vidrs instantly jumped to their cams and gamer chairs to make videos on the matter. And of course these kinds of channel have to profit off the anger of their viewership, so now they pivot the discourse to "cancel culture".

The reason undisclosed for the most part for courts of Law is to protect individuals (innocent until proven guilty ) from the stupidity and bandwagon witch burners who aren't looking for proof. They are looking to channel their own animosity how ever they may.

The thought process that led to the Salem witch trials of 1692 is the same that was used against him, and it sickens me. I’ve never met Ed, but was hoping to get to a Con he was at and share in person what his work meant to so many. RIP Eddie P. You are missed but in good company with Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, Wally Wood, Dave Stevens, Charles Schultz, among so many others.

I can get being careful while talking about cancel culture, but on this case Ed gave names to that cancel culture and I’m wondering if a single anti cancel culture commenter will adress those people whom have been notable at their canceling activities for years

In light of what happened to Ed, I felt terrible to have come to such a quick conclusion about the situation in my mind. I'll never allow myself to be influenced to believe or disbelieve such serious allegations against a fellow creative based on a couple screenshots and gossip. I was no fan of Ed or his work (didn't know much of either), but he was talented, knowledgeable about comics, and, according to those who knew him, hard-working. It all spiralled out of control so quickly and Ed's life was ended too soon. Any channel or people (especially those mentioned in Ed's letter) that thrive on controversy / stirring up things will not get another second from me. Hope that others will consider these sobering events a wake up call and decide the same. If we keep feeding them with our time and attention, the situation might happen again.

I’m glad you actually brought up that POS’s videos, I came across him early on in this and was disgusted by his entire demeanor and position, to then see him pull a 180 and play the victim while attempting to benefit from this entire thing is absolutely pathetic. That guy is a disgusting human being inside and out. Ed never deserved what happened to him and that person specifically wreaked of jealousy at another man’s hard earned success. Full stop he should be ashamed of himself as a grown ass man. RIP to Ed. The void he leaves us in is incredibly hard and these last few days have been unbearable, and I wasn’t even as close as some of these other guys like Skeme Richards and Brian Moss etc. my heart goes out to them and Jim, this has to be really hard on Jim right now. But I would have to say bringing up people like him or anyone else is very much not fair when Ed Piskor NAMED people of why he committed that act in his note that he posted on his public Facebook. Personally I really do find it to be very gross to take somebody's words out of context when they clearly said what what's the issue I have seen this happen a lot in this occasion. Ed said who it was. There was a lot of public information that was screenshotted of those same people instigated the problem and also saying that Ed was a white su premaci st as well. Are we going to look past all of that and blame other people. The people on RU-vid were stating and bring it up the day-to-day news. I would say they were doing a better job than the actual News company in Ed's town going up to his address and his family's address and posting them on a public video. Leading to more harassment towards Ed because he lived in a small town. Ed said who it was. You can look at their actions as well and understand they very much did contribute to this issue. They likely called the news about this story. They likely called up the event he was going to have to get a closed or shut down. This is also not to mention they have done the same type of stuff to other people

Free speech has always been a double edged sword..There needs to be some control of what people say and show others or you will have many more people taking things to far..freedom of speech and what people say has become unfiltered with only click bait in mind..Regardless of guilt or innocence it seems many no longer care as long as they get the attention they want. It's not cancel culture it's more like not caring culture for profit..

The Walking dead already drove the whole Zombie gore fest over the clift to the point where it nullified our reactions to it . Ed may have seen this and wondered where horror could go from here? Went over the top. Personally, I never appreciated the whole gore fest culture thing as much as some but I remember buying some of the issues to be supportive of what I was getting from the You Tube videos they were sharing. Made sense to lend support in the small way available to me. But thats just my take on things.

There are multiple instances of men being trying to talk minors, getting caught/exposed and then checking out to avoid accountability. Is that the case here? I don’t know. And neither do the people lionizing him.

Ed Piskor is responsible for his own decisions, not cancel culture. You use similar language in the title of your own video as click bait. He was able to apologize in his letter, why he couldn't own that in life is sad, but he chose to do what he did not cancel culture.

This situation is sad. Piskor's demise was due to messaging an UNDERAGE girl. The messages are there to read.

His demise was due to his own superficial vanity. He killed himself over people he didn't even know. What a waste of life and talent.

Ed's family and friends are the ones to blame for not noticing Ed's mental health wasn't good ..all what happened to Ed gave him in excuses to do what he did there or no excuses to off yourself ..Ed more likely would have off himself anyway even without the problems he was having... it was just too easy for Ed to do what he did to himself... people have a lot more worst stuff happening every day then what Ed was going through..and they don't kill themselves
