I’m 37, easily the best defensive player I’ve ever seen (obviously too young to have send a Prime Deion, or Lawrence Taylor). And yes, Ed Reed was the shit in Madden too 😂
I mean shit there’s a reason that the Ravens were known as one of the best defenses of all time. They won two Super Bowls while having some of the most pitiful offenses in the league. Really shows how great that defense was
Troy vs Ed will always be debated, and even through I’m a Steelers fan through and through until the day I die, I have to admit that overall Ed was the greatest safety who has ever played the game. He may not have made as many tackles as Troy did total, but he made so many more game changing plays and interceptions compared to Troy. I love my Steelers and will until the day I die, but if we are being honest here, Ed Reed was overall the greatest safety to ever play in the NFL.
Thank you for the humility to admit this. Troy is absolutely in the same class, those two and Ronnie Lott are the three best ever, but you’ll see guys be able to emulate Lott and Troy in the future. There is no other Ed Reed
You're like no Pittsburgh fan I ever met. I mean this as a great compliment to you. Let's keep Troy in the ss discussion and keep this thing apples to apples.
@@kylerchesney2500 ed reeds easily ahead of them, coaches built gameplans to keep the ball away from reed and lewis, only time a defense has ever been so dominant
I'm glad you chose this music. It's nothing that I thought that I would have ever enjoyed. In my opinion, it was perfect while watching Ed shredding all those D`s!!!!
Former Miami Hurricanes THE U, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens Strong Safety Ed Reed even Former USC Trojans and Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Troy Polamalu are two of the Best Safeties known to man in this Modern Era.
No doubt, he wasn't the biggest or strongest, but he was sure tough and smart as hell on the field. He definitely could be a brilliant d-back coach these days
Vernell Marshall Sean Taylor isn’t number 1. Not even top 10. It’s sad he could’ve been. But he unfortunately doesn’t have the stats. But his legacy and impact when he was playing was incredible
Vernell Marshall Did he just put TROY AT 2😂😂😂😂 Ed got awards at both Ss and FS. Troy hasn't. Jack Del Rio, bill belicheck, Rex Ryan, and more all admitted in his video he was the best. Stats are far better than Troy's.
Let me preface this comment by saying that I'm a Steelers fan. Ed Reed was a *MONSTER* at the free safety position. Easily the best free safety I've ever seen in my life, and my dream safety corps is him and Polamalu. As physically horrifying for ANY QB to throw into, any WR/TE to run into and catch a ball, and any RB/FB to try and run over, that may be one of the SMARTEST defensive backfields in my lifetime, if the two played together. Ed's brain for reading an offense doesn't get talked about enough, due to his freakish physicality. I'd LOVE to see him become an analyst for NFL games when he retires (if he hasn't already, which, to be fair, he may have).
