@@Swii_ yeah because he’s the biggest pop star on the planet and he’s doing promo for a new album all across the country… you think he’s gonna drive himself?? He’s not too big-headed to forget about those around him
@@treek10k it’s not the same thing though? The comment didn’t mean that he should act like he’s better than anyone; but it’s just cute that he’s still so down to earth and ‘normal’ in a way that he nonchalantly asked for an extra bottle for his driver (which is very sweet for that matter).
@@treek10k the exact opposite, you see what you described with a shitload of people who aren't even at his level of fame, but this man is as famous as he is and still thinks of those around him. It's not special, but it's increasingly rare and should be noted.
So many top comments talking about other people that should be on Hot Ones, but totally disregarding the fact that Ed is a pretty fucking chill guy. Always comes across humble af.
I agree, and love Ed's demeanor. I swear, I must be from an alternate reality or am experiencing the Mandela Effect, because I would've bet my life that Ed had been on Hot Ones previously.
It seems that a lot of British celebrities, especially from North England or Scotland don't really change after becoming one. They just kinda same lad/lass with more money and sometimes getting a wank off someone famous.
Ed Sheeran's interviews are ALWAYS interesting and enjoyable. I think, it's because he doesn't need to put on the whole showbiz image thing regardless of how popular globally he is. Doesn't have be fake. Humble, funny, straight up with out being offensive, decent ..... and incredibly talented. He's just a lad from Suffolk.
I just said the same exact thing where someone said Sean was struggling because they switched board and Eds wings were actually hotter. I said I really believe Sean meets the pain of his guest. If the person across from him is breezing through it he will also but when they struggle he seems to join them in the misery.
he also tends to mimic how they're doing with the sauces, despite being an insane pro at this sort of thing. he'll usually be less effected with the strugglers, but he's also basically no selled hot wings with other people that didn't have their faces light on fire.
@@modest1989 tbh i took the former as sort of how they're acting, more playing for the room - get excited when they're excited, get supportive when they're struggling, feeding off their vibe sort of thing. mine was of a far more 'straight up doesn't feel a thing 99% of the time from these chillies, still fakes it if they're struggling' sort of thing, essentially lying to make them feel better that they can't handle hot stuff like a dude who routinely eats da bomb and hasn't died because lit gunpowder seemed like the next logical step to try to eat. but i guess i didn't read it right, i see that too, now.
@@raven6130 i've been a fan of him for years, and i can say, that man have never been homophobic, racist or even disrespectful with anyone. he is literally the most unproblematic artist i ever seen.
I love it when people actually go after the whole wing instead of just nibbling each one. Respect to Ed! He got uncomfortable but he still took a healthy bite of each
I honestly don't know a thing about this guy but he definitely has made me a supporter now. This interview really felt like sitting down at a bar and making a new friend. Props to Sean for that as well!
Ed Sheeran has got to be one of the best guests Hot Ones has ever had. He’s engaging, funny, super gung-ho, took real bites, and actually played the game. Love him.
So many greats from the start. Bobby Lee, Segura, Joey Diaz... Tommy Chong cleared every wing and didn't struggle. My fave though has to be Aubrey Plaza, she drank milk through her nose 🤣
I agree…..Sean makes me have an appreciation for a journalism degree lol especially w celebrity interviews are so superficial, the hot sauce destabilizes the celeb and makes them vulnerable lol
Sean: “Do you wanna slow it down?” Ed: “No let’s speed it up ha” No one has ever said that before and he cleared those wings too and is such an amazing guy.
@@ArksCovenant it's actually quite funny because he's probably one of the musicians I respect the most for his craft but I can't imagine myself ever putting on any of his music lol
Same. I didn't really feel like watching this but finally figured it could still be interesting even if I don't listen to Ed Sheeran. I'll check him out at least a bit now
It all started with them "work-shopping" the idea with Tony Yayo (the video is still on RU-vid) who tapped out like 3 wings in and now look where they are!
Sean is the nardwaal of interviewers. And I mean that as the greatest compliment to him. People always come in expecting to get the same questions they get anywhere else and he digs deep into their past and hobbies to really humanize them in a way that allows them to put down their walls and for us as the viewers see the more normal and quirky aspect of them. It’s said over and over in comments in the videos but I truly hope you feel the love from us as viewers Sean because you are phenomenal gift.
Agreed. He's just the best. Like thee best. I wish him great success cause he deserves it but I want him to stay on you tube and eat wings forever.🙏 😆😌
well i think its smarter to take a bigger bite? it just means the hot sauce is spread across the chicken? which means its less concentrated hence being less spicy
@@ashimotoakai9599 that doesnt make any sense. The chickens were tossed with the sauce so its basically covered in it. The more you eat of the chicken, the more sauce you consume.
Right? I've never understood people who say he's their favorite episode, like he didn't even really do it properly. Hopefully his kids still give him shit about it. "Elizabeth Olsen had a way easier time than you, dad" "Piss off, you wankers"
These interviews always make me love the persons personality more, like he really comes up w the most thoughtful questions and he seems so cool and genuine!! I hope I can be on hot ones day…
I love the way he talks about his career, so unassuming despite being one of the biggest acts in the world. So many other artists would be up their own ass if they’d achieved even a fraction of what he has achieved.
To be honest it only looks like the people who comes from money only nibble while the people who came up middle class and all that, really do eat their food even when they get rich.
Agreed. Mad respect to people that take real bites or clean the wing like Ed. None of that one nibble business. Why even show up if you are going to do that?
Im not a fan of ed but I'm also not a hater. I enjoy his music from time to time. But you gotta give him credit. He's such a down to earth lad. Good job Sean.
@@kieffkipkeep Nah they're more kinda transparent. 21:52 you can see some side-brow. And I was kidding! It's just strange how his brows aren't more defined. I bet he wore glasses with thick frames to cover his lack of brows, he should just dye them instead
Sean has said before that it just becomes habit, and I believe he's also said that it's become "easier" to deal with throughout the years, despite it getting hotter and hotter. I think it's just about tolerance, and he's definitely built his over the years.
@@KidKat__ why don’t he had Ulcer like me yet? I eat spicy stuffs like that but gotta stop due to stomach issue. I hope he flushes all that bad shit before they make a hole in his stomach.
@@lilacrose7866 I really believe Sean meets the pain of his guest. If the person across from him is breezing through it he will also but when they struggle he seems to join them in the misery
He is making fun of dj khaled from when he went on season1 last episode, khaled only made it to wing three and asked if Sean's were the same and they switched
Ed is probably the biggest case for me of "singer who's music I care very little about but always love to see anywhere due to how sympathetic and chill he comes across."
Exactly. Like I never go out of my way to listen to his music, but I quite enjoy him. I remember seeing him do the Stevie Wonder tribute with Bey and Gary Clark Junior and he really held his own, played and sang live with a full band like a real musician. He’s really put in the work and I admire that a lot, as well as the fact that he just seems like a good all around dude.
Sean always matches the amount of wing eaten to what his guests do (mostly to not make them feel bad) and here he genuinely seemed surprised when Ed started wolfing them down. And you can tell, Sean is sweating bricks too in this one.
I like the people who have started to come on the show just for fun, instead of the ones who seem like they were bamboozled by their managers into it to promote a project.
@@Chris-yz7cs Almost as if who think room temperature tea is 🔥hot fire!!!🔥 listen to this guy. I'm gonna get wild on my birthday and blast some Dave Matthews Band at volume level 3, whoooa!
@@yaswante4105 It's like someone saying they don't do X or Y thing on a first date so I make a mental checknote, "Ah, they do those things. Constantly."
I'm always impressed when someone actually says they had fun on this show. I think even if you enjoy the interview questions, you still might not have *fun* so yeah, go Ed. he's pretty cool.
can we appreciate how well thought out sean’s questions are? most interviewers ask the same shallow questions that will get views but sean makes all our faves so comfortable
To be quite honest, I've never been a fan of Ed Sheeran's music, but once again Hot Ones has shown me the human side of a celebrity that is so refreshing. Ed turns out to be a cool, chill guy. Much respect.
Ed is so genuine he did the show and interview and didn't even run any promo... Too cool and is a prop to Sean as a interviewer I feel. Sweet well deserved.
This interview with Ed relaxes me I don't know why. Other artists are cringy to watch while Ed is just chillin and super honest! Love watching him and love Bad Habits!
@@aztecwrrior1997 he sucks? Yawn. You know nothing about football. 20+ goals clear as top scorer and countless assists on top. I'm no fanboy but when people say things like this it shows stupid agenda just like when people say penaldo. Idiots like you are clueless lol
You will noctice that almost every episode the guest will say "that's an interesting questions." These are people who are asked like a million questions on the regular! That's such a testament to Sean and the crew that not only is the format entertaining but they always manage to keep the questions fresh and interesting.
The people that take small bites did do Hot Ones right. Don't be a wing snob. Is it cool if they eat the wing to the bone, sure. Is that required or even expected, of course not.
@@tysmith9309 You don't douse something in capsaicin like this and expect people to "eat it all". We've already had this talk on this channel. This is first and foremost an interview. If you make it annoying for people to come on the show then the show dies. I think we're all here because we like the show and thus don't want to make sean's job harder. *Don't be a dick* Simple philosophy.
@@orangesunshine8979 i feel like you might be Ed Sheeran, but i understand you need to keep your cover. so ill just assume and tell all my friends it happened
Listen up... Ed is one of the most successful and familiar and talented artists in the world right now.. and please see how kind and humble he is! the man is beautiful from the inside and I think he sets an example for all of us. please show him the appreciation he deserves on this show!
Exactly 💯 idk y some ppl hate on him... Lyk there's just no reason u would hate him !! He's such a beautiful person I've come across ever ✨❤️😌😌 luv him lotttsssa 🔥🔥🔥✨😘😘😘😘
This was such a good episode. Sean's always a great host. Ed was dedicated. What a real one eating the whole wing. Hes definitely not a failure for drinking. Making it to the last dab proves victory. And being such a likeable guy makes it so much better🙌
I did not expect him to be so entertaining, handle the heat so well and am impressed by how he just killed those wings instead of taking baby bites like how most guests do.
As Ed does more public appearances like this where he opens up about his life, I have so much more respect for him. He seems like just a good dude. I have come to love his music and am amazed by his songwriting abilities. Congrats on all your successes.
i remember my mum telling me of how she used to see ed in the streets doing songs in the past and seeing how far he's come is shocking. proud of you ed
Back in the Norwich days when hisngigs were a party and after parties were a still a thing, we went out with ole matey and he is a massive dickhead. For his sake I hope the sjdubs don't get ahold of how he treats women.
I love the fact you did not censor him. I am a Brit living overseas and it was just like having a mate in the room. I'm not a great fan of his music - we all have different tastes - but as a bloke I think he is pretty cool.
It’s crazy how every person who came on this show must be wanting to see if Sean has the same wings but Eddy boy just went ahead and exchanged the plates! Legend 💯
@@travistotle I don’t think his wings are diluted or anything but that’s just my opinion. We’ll never know until we make it to first we first and compare em wings like Eddy ourselves!
Someone else pointed out that Sean matches the guest. Ed was eating the entire wing where most guests just take a bite. So Sean was probably getting more sauce than usual.
