EDC Organizer Box: Great way to get organized! 

I use this for nail supplies in my salon. The locks are sturdy and the woodwork is beautiful!.

I bought a kit from Gerstner a few months ago and built one. Expensive, but it turned out beautiful. Quarter sawn white oak with a hand rubbed tung oil finish. Store all my firearm tools and cleaning supplies. Works great, and the HF one looks like it would work just as well if you didn't want to spend the money to build one.

Just bought one today after watching this video and supper impressed by the quality of work and usefulness of this drawer. Highly recommended for all, especially those who carry. It is of such high quality, that I have it placed in my living room and it also serves the purpose of a good looking decorative piece. Thanks a ton for the person who uploaded this video!

I did this, bought this 3 years ago, and love it!!! It's totally full now. I feel so organized for EDC and just all that little stuff I use. I choose to keep hundguns in a safe though.

I have one of these boxes and have had it for 15 years ,it holds some of my machining tools.this is an excellent idea

I had seen this at my local harbor freight and I have been considering it for a knife storage or a edc like yourself . I have been looking at other options amd trying to make a decesion after watching your video I believe I will go two of these to cover both my needs. Your video was a big help I intend to show it to my wife as well so she can see that it is a good looking storage system to have around the house. Awesome idea! I've flipped past these a hundred times in their catalog because I prefer steel or plastic tool boxes but this would be great for wife approved man toy storage outside the man cave. Thanks for the review.

That's a great idea! I'd been considering just getting a low wide dresser and using the top drawer, but this would sit on top nicely! I wonder if my father would pass his on that my grandfather made.

I've seen this in harbor freight before and quickly dismissed it but this video has me reconsidering it. Great idea. Great use of space.

Gearhead here also with a stressful clutter problem. After watching your vid it was like a light bulb came on. Went out and bought the same chest this week end. So far it's making a big difference. Will only get better as habits are formed.

I really liked this box. It was really nice for how it is used. I came to this video thinking it would cover your average garage tool box but this was a daily use tool box which is not something I would think of storing in a tool box. I would like to see how a average tool box is kept organized similar to this.

When I was a machinist, we used Kennedy tool boxes that same size. I a machine shop environment, a light spray of WD 40 in each drawer, would keep tools from rusting. :)

I have been using craftsman tool chests for a while. Orig had one for gun parts and tools, cleaning items etc. got another for all of my knives and multi tools.

I got exactly one of those tool chest for Xmas and put it to use as my bedside organizer.

Hey Sootch - Sensible Prepper for the tip! I went Harbor Freight (with my 20% coupon) and picked one up for $65. Looks great and is a awesome place to keep my gear!!!

I have a very similar set up, I bought a larger wood tool chest from Costco for £30 marked down from £80. I love it EDC in the top then a drawer for knives, lights, watches, multitools, and lighters ant then other gear. Best thing I've ever bought! I built a stand so it's a stand alone piece of furniture. I have a video on my channel if anyone wants to see! Great setup Don!

Very cool storage idea!

Would also work well as an home Armors Box for tools, only down side is drawers are not deep enough for cleaning solvents and oils. Would have to get other storage containers for those. Nice storage box, thanks Sootch.

Liked it so much on the video I immediately headed to Harbor Freight. Just so happens to be next to the gun shop I frequent and I had never been in before. Guy at the counter gave me 20% off for being a first time customer. Perfect for all my gear, except, not quite deep enough for a couple of my holsters other than the top deck. Oh well. Couldn't quite fill it up, so I guess I have to go gun shopping!

My dad had one of these from the 60s-and those original machinist boxes go for a mint.

I got one for half price a couple years ago and I use it for my leather working tools and I'm thinking about getting a second one. They are not the best quality but for the money they are hard to beat.

I'm heading to Harbor Freight shortly, I'll probably buy one if they have them at the store.

Hey There! I have a similar inexpensive box on my bedroom dresser and use it for EDC stuff. Paid maybe $50 for it. It is about the same quality. But.. My favorites are my Gerstners..admittedly more expensive but well worth the price for the quality. I have a large base set plus a slightly smaller chest on top..made to go with each other. These are in my large basement woodworking shop and hold almost all of my precision tools as well as leather working tools. At some point, I will order the large base on wheels to finish the set! But I do have about $500 tied up in the two I already own! Recently, a friend and former co-worker gave me a huge Gerstner box that I am using on a rolling cabinet in the garage. Out of the blue one day, this box just showed up on my back covered deck! I thought I knew immediately who had been so kind, so I called him and he said he had no use for it, so thought he'd pass it on to me! This was certainly a thoughtful gift, and I use it constantly.

Nice looking chest, To help the drawers slide better, apply some paraffin or candle wax to the drawer sides & bottom runners.

I like the chest, I typically have my stuff piled on top of each other in a second safe. The drawers appear a little unsupported? I suppose the top chest of a toolbox could be used as well, as long as it isn't too expensive. Thanks for another great video!

Just bought one of these - its on a shelf in my closet, and will do very well to organize a bunch of smaller items. Unfortunately, when I opened the drawers, it didn't smell too good. I noticed a very similar smell, but much stronger, in the Harbor Freight store (Home Depot and Lowes don't smell, I wonder why HF does?). Anyway, I assume airing it out will take care of the smell. While it is cheaply made, it has a nice look, and love all the compartments.

I have my grandfathers Gerstner. It was refinished at Gerstner's factory here in Ohio. I've used it in a similar way minus the pistol. I've never considered keeping my carry gun in it, until now! The only thing I don't like about the box from HB is the lock. They seem to fail often and quickly so you may need to add your own lock.

Sootch00 and anyone else wondering the same; a good security measure to keep someone from just walking off with it if they break into your house would be to figure out a good spot that you want it to set "permanently", say on top of your nightstand just for an example. If you are able to pull all the drawers out you could drill holes in the 4 corners through the bottom of the box and all the way through the top of your nightstand. Slide a long bolt, with large fender washers, and a lock nut. Like you said it's just wood so if they really want it or the contents they would find a way to remove it or break it open, but it might just be enough of a deterrent to keep them from taking it.

I love all of your video's , I know it will never happen but I would love to hang out with you one saturday and shoot up some targets and talk about the hobby we all love so much .
