Lots of Medical Questions lately from viewers, as there should be; if you are going to prepare to defend yourself, you need to prepare for Trauma. Have medical gear. Carry and store it properly; and get medical training.
First, and foremost: Do NOT buy cheap medical gear!!! AirSoft Med Gear is just for looks. Seriously, I have seen fake tourniquets break. Literally BREAK.
Second, you do not have to order from me. There are great kits and medical gear out there. I would prefer that you buy medical gear from your medical instructors, so you are using the actual gear that you trained with. Example: I bring tons of my EDC Medical Kits to all my classes.
If you are interested in buying my EDC Medical Kit, that I used in this video; you can reach out directly to me at Tacticalrifleman1@gmail.com. I sell the following:
Basic EDC Medical Kit $55
Advanced EDC Medical Kit (with QuikClot Gauze) $81
CAT-7 Tourniquet $42
I offer a discount for Patreon Patrons
I charge Flat Rate Shipping: $8 for 1 or 2, $16 for 3-10).
Again, I'll have them for purchase at all our TR Courses this year.
I hope you enjoyed the video. Crush the like button for us. Strength & Honor, TR.

Well, the point Karl made at the 8:30-9 minute can go both ways. I really carry specialized medical equipment (like a decompression needle) to keep my medic from running out of supplies. I prefer to carry my medical supplies in case my whole team gets shot, stabbed, run over, or eaten by wolves. That way, the medic can save his supplies for civilians or whatever else. If you're running around playing airsoft, then you probably should not carry syringes and saline lock kits, though.

Its crazy how many people dont think of carrying a medical kit. Long before I even got into a career field where holes were possible, I knew it was important to keep good medical equipment around. But so many people also forget that training and knowledge of how to use the equipment is the most important thing in your kit.

What I always suggest at tccc courses to the students is to have custom kits according to what you are doing/where you are going... You want to be prepared for the worst case scenario, but you also want to be prepared for the most likely scenario, which fortunately is less dramatic. What I also tell people is to get good basic "civilian" medicine before approaching tccc, because tccc is all about exceptions and forcing rules... But you should know the rules first, otherwise if you use tccc skills in civilian life without a clear view on what you're doing you are most likely going to get in trouble.

Ain't that the truth. My family bags on me all the time. I do not leave the house for ANYthing without what they call my "Fallujah bag"! It's basically a 30 liter commuter backpack with all my EDC kit in it...plus full trauma gear with redundancies for my kids, etc. The wife says "I'm COLD, do you have a jacket"? I pull out a synthetic insulated jacket or vest. My kid says "dad I forgot my sunglasses...for our mountain bike ride"...I pull out a spare pair of Wiley X shades for him. Ten seconds later, the wife says "My sinuses are killing me, do you have anything"? I reach into my pharmaceuticals/meds kit and give her sudafed...It is freaking hilarious! Then the other kid says "I forgot my asthma inhaler at school! Dad can I borrow YOURS"? So whenever they bust my balls about taking it with...YEAH WHATEVER!

I also went to the methadone clinic in my town and was able to get some Narcan. Keep your RATS. Especially if you have children around. Small limbs and animals is where RATS shines. Just because some groups nix it doesn’t mean squat. Baling wire and a stick will work if that’s all you have.
@marktda
@marktda 4 года назад
@@rueridge7597 there are tourniquets which are proven effective, then there's the RATS. Would you risk your life with a product that might work, when there are some that will work? Consider that is the child is grown enough adult tourniquets will work, if he's so small that the tourniquet does not work you could not even need a tourniquet because putting direct strong pressure on the limb will suffice. Of course you do with what you have, but not planning is like planning for failure... Check all the pictures of men dead with all sort of improvised tourniquets on the thighs

@@mcal9320 cessation of pulses or cessation of bleeding are both adequate means to assess for proper tourniquet application.

@@andrewfisher5359 wrong, a tourniquet is designed to stop pulses. If you have no pulse but a bleed, then you didnt stop the pulse, despite not feeling it or multiple arteries and or veins are involved. Its not uncommon to need more than 1 TK on an extremity. Its also possible to have a pulse and appear to have stopped the bleed. But infact because the pulse is still present. Although it may be weak, blood is still getting past and pooling into the extremity. Thus, not stopping the bleed, only slowing it. Whenever a tourniquet is applied to an extremity for hemorrhage control, it should be made tight enough to completely obliterate the distal pulse. This is to ensure that no blood is getting past the tourniquet and into the extremity.

@@mcal9320 most organizations that offer instruction on tourniquet application and hemorrhage control have cessation of hemorrhage as an indicator of successful tourniquet application. May I ask your reference for this?

Pretty good information. I do not agree that high and tight is needed for TQs or that anyone should be carrying items for which they are not qualified to use. One last thing, CoTCCC recommends items and doesn't approve.
