I bought the grip from Taurus using the enclosed coupon. It’s on a 3 inch 856. Grip went on easily and the laser works well the only problem is you automatically cover the laser when grabbing the gun and need to readjust your grip to have the laser visible. Guess there’s no solution other than to grip it carefully
I bought the Veridian Bonus pack or whatever just a few weeks ago and installed it on my 605... larger grips to accommodate my rather large hands which is a big plus ... a really strong beam... haven't been to range to zero yet... will post results when I do... given how far the beam travels, it seems like it is going to be a great upgrade...
@@raybutts9133 if memory serves I think I just used a Craftsman flat nose pin punch... But to be really honest it's been nearly a year ago and at my age I tend to forget a lot... If it wasn't a pin punch I used then I would more than likely have pressed one of my smaller Allen wrenches into service to drive that out... Truly wish I could be more helpful but I simply don't even remember having to do anything to install these grips... Which by the way I have taken to the range and zeroed in and I highly recommend them...
I like the Crimson Trace product better specifically because it it's a shorter grip. This is a snubbie gun, it needs to stay as small as possible. The extra grip length makes it harder to conceal.
Did you do the spring upgrade or is the 856 great out the box? I have the 605 and the trigger on that thing was incredibly heavy. Did the spring upgrade and now it's like butta. Didn't go with the 6lb as the 9lb was light enough.
Atleast they practice everyday that is why they get marksman. My country we do once in a year, how to maintain Marksman and pass within a year. Some people can pass once in a year but some can't pass because still struggling with aiming and shooting the target
I got a viridian laser grip with my Taurus 856 while cleaning it and oiling it reinstalling the grip the top screw started pushing the female threads out of the right side of the grip I didn't over tighten it I backed it out some but I'm kind of afraid to take them off again when cleaning it for fear they will mess it up further.
Question for you, I have the 856 .38 special ultra lite which has one pin in the bottom right corner of the grip, will that fit with the twin pin setup on this grip?
I’ve found the laser sits so low my trigger finger blocks the beam. There are a few other brands on the market that place the laser a little higher under the cylinder that work much better for me.
That's one ugly grip, and I also hate plastic holsters. But I'm sure both are excellent for many. It's great to see a laser for a revolver. I have an 856 and I'm looking into some Hudson Valley Customs grips. awesome looking wood grips with the Taurus logo on them. The snub nose 38 special is a close quarters gun. Usually people don't buy them for target practice, and most of the time they're used within 10 to 20 feet of who you're going to be using it on. I don't feel the need for a laser grip at that distance, but it's still very cool. thanks for your great video. you did an amazing job showing off everything. I hope that gun is working out nice for you. Peace..
Thanks for posting this video. The blacked out front sight makes it difficult for me to aim the weapon. I wear bifocals. Please be kind to others and Stay Safe. ✌
Use some scotch tape around the sides of the front site, then paint the site orange with nail polish. I painted mine red, but I really wish I had painted it orange. it turned out great, but the red is to dark for me actually. but the scotch tape made it very easy to do without messing it up. I hope that information helps you out. Peace..
good video - but please take that stupid tag off the trigger guard and the red disc out from the cylinder/frame, the gun can't hurt the viewer of this video even if you shot the camera.
The back of the grip, doesn't look like it comes together.. that gap will cause issues along the way. Too bad, I almost bought some. But, at that price, the workmanship is just off.
There is definitely a tiny tiny gap maybe paper thin on the back of the grip. I got one and you can’t feel it , however it does bug me just from looking at it but I don’t think it could cause issues besides maybe getting grime inside the grip.
