We need some more of these vids Phil with voice when time allows, Maybe other type of ecu's, I know edc16 uses hysteria map for EGR but finding them ect, are you VAG specialist or just every one brings there VAG to you?
Hey Phil I've been watching your videos on RU-vid and website. Big fan of your stuff, can't appreciate them enough. Just a quick question, can I follow the same procedure on edc16z and 17z bmw and vag ? And even petrol cars like msd80 me7 etc
@@Phil-cooper I'll test both way's thanks, was reading ecu connections and a guy shows after and apparently worked, also the vag guides on youtube shows after but I have a permanent egr code as deleted n18 so will report results on edc15p.
@@Phil-cooper Still not tested but if your right I made a small program to do dtc off edc15p. It basically creates a new file, searches for the fault code up to 3 times for each code block then 6 bytes before sets FF FF 00 00 00 00 which equates to 65535 0000 0000 in 16 bit 255. only time it won't work is if the code that needs changing does not come right before the fault code. Will test and release for free.
Deleting them is for performance reasons, if anything they can make more mess, blocked intakes can cause over fuelling which is worse for the environment then taking it off! Burn clean.. burn better!
@@Phil-cooper I'm not saying it's not. But when you block the valve it's just part of it. MAF is still waiting for that amount of air through the valve. When not seeing it can cause other DTC which you've deleted. Which is like throwing off smoke alarm out of the window when your house is on fire...
@@Waldee84 if the car doesn't use maf then it uses map, either way the calculation can be made for fuel/air ratio! A lot of the edc15 vag cars run off the map and not maf as stock (hence why the switch is there) now if you brought up removing the cat.. then I would agree
@@Phil-cooper Yep I switched to MAP when eliminating MAF for an issue and stuck with it, then removed the MAF completely which left light and DTC, Obviously if you have over boost you would not delete the fault code.
