I bought an album back in the early 80's of Eddie Harris. One of the supervisors at the office was a real jazz lover and told him about the album. He asked if he could borrow it, never got it back. So I bought another one. I need some Money was the album name. Played that till it wore out.

Have always loved Eddie "Who?", and this Funk Project band is wonderful to the man. One thing: cannot understand by Bradley Bobo is not a household name. He just fills in everything that is needed. Perfect pitch and timing and presence - a simply wonderful player.

Wonderful music here. These guys could play....so many great moments in this concert. By the way ,anoraks, Ron Muldrow provided the guitar work for "you can`t sit down" - the Phil Upchurch hit. Eddie came to London and played masterfully at a little jazz club with some great locals. Anyone remember this ?

Mr. Eddie Harris is so super cool. When I went to stay with my uncle in New York City 1968 uncle had his album. We would listen to Mr. Eddie Harris. Great memories. Peace of God to all.

Eddie Harris “Funk Project”. Probably the most unnecessary band name in history because EVERYTHING Eddie Harris did from the day he started recording was funky!!! With pristine assistant from LA drum legend James Gadson, Chicago legend Derf Reklaw Raheem, longtime sideman Ron Muldrow (father of Georgia Ann), and Mr. Bobo on bass.

Eddie ,and Grover are the most versatile tenor players in Jazz history,Jazz,Funk ect . I’m sure both played classical.
@zootMKVI
@zootMKVI Год назад
Eddie Harris was a master sax player. His early LPs/CDs 'The In Sound + Mean Greens' are jazz CDs and my favourites. Even his 'Eddie Who' LP is a question as to why he's not more famous. (I'm working through his tenor sax book!) Probably because of his funk stuff he lost the attention of the jazz crowd.

Eddie rocking a Mark 7. It’s the man not the horn !

You are right about your man-versus-horn-theory. Yet some Mark 7s are awesome. I played the one he plays here, and it is a fantastic horn.
@jalebjaba1487

Joe Henderson played one for awhile until he accidentally found his horn ,one of his students had purchased it. I’m sure he had A m6 as well.
