WOW! This is INCREDIBLE! A clip of Eddie Holman performing at his prime! He really deserved to be an A List star. For me he has the clearest effortless falsetto in the business. I wish he had recorded more material over his career.
Soul music royalty. I had the pleasure of watching his performance - and meeting him - at last year's Blackpool International Soul Festival. He's as nice a guy as he is talented.
So it's true that Eddie worked with the Delfonics and Stylistics early on and showed William Hart, and Russell Thompkins some things. Hart especially sounds a lot like Eddie!

Great find! Love this tune, but almost feel a little cheated that he didn't swing onto the stage ala Tarzan during those first vocal salvos that he issues! Lol! I had the pleasure of bumping into him at the Sound Of Market in Philadelphia more than 15 years ago. He looked like he was looking for assistance with something and as I was beginning to offer that help we started talking. When he told me who he was, I kinda got the feeling that he thought I might not have heard of him. I certainly assured him that this was far from the case! Very nice, humble gentleman, very easy to speak with!

@@kwamejohnson6254 , oh okay I was born in Woodlawn, if you don’t know about Shawn Michelle’s homemade ice cream on 46th and wabash ( on the corner of the rosenwald building) man this black husband and wife owners Yayah & Hitaki Muhammad have some of the best homemade ice cream in Chicago !!! I’ve been going to them since 2009 when they were at other spots but this is the best one , they are killing em . I go 2-3 times a month and get a couple quarts to go ( put in a cooler in my car with ice packs) but I purchased 2 tubs that I ordered ( it takes 3 days to pick up) . You can look at old and new videos of them on RU-vid . Also two brothers have a pizza restaurant by the alley between Pirarie & Indiana , Bowen’s Pizza , thier soft crust is almost as good as Italian fiesta’s.

Also another great black product that’s in Chicago, go online and type in “ As Good as Mother’s famous seasoned flour” this is the BOMB !!! It’s flour that’s already seasoned , you fry or bake with it chicken, pork chops, shrimp etc. I’ve been using it since 1985 and have sent it to friends in other cities they raved about it. The creator owner sold the restaurant to a preacher but they still sell the flour there ( and mostly cook with the white original one , that’s my favorite) at “eat and run “ restaurant 1733 west 87th street , ( large and small bags $9.00 -$3.00 ) you can buy small bags at most jewels three for $5.00 , and big and small bags at Pete’s 87th stony island, 87th and loomis , “ discount meats 79th Vincennes “ and “AG warehouse “ 6945 south state street. ( they use to only distribute it for years but didn’t sell to the public even though thier address is on the bottom of the bag , and I could never understand that as they always have it packed with customers buying foods , but now they do sell it , and they will ship it out of state if the store contacts them ( as I’ve had out of state people do) lastly at most jewel’s check out, “ Sylvia’s Soulful Seasoned Salt” this is better than Lawry’s or it’s equal fo sho . I’ve been using this and her other products since the 80’s , I live near 79 damen but may move on the northside .
