Following last week's shock defeat to Fiji in Saint-Etienne, Australia face a real threat of not getting past the pool stages at this Rugby World Cup should they lose to Wales on Sunday in Lyon.
If that happens, will Eddie Jones survive as Wallabies head coach? Alan Quinlan and Matt Williams don't think so.

I think most aussie fans know that under Dave Rennie and his team we would have got through the pool and with a bit of luck made the semis. And we could consider that a success all things considered.

Spot on mate. ARU shat the bed as usual. The RahRah Rugger buggers in charge of the ARU have consistently, and with great success squandered every opportunity to grow an improve the game in Aus. Desperately want the wobs to win but......

@@wackpaddyknickknack hang in there boys. We’re in the same boat in England tbh. Eddies biggest problem is he refuses to accept when everyone is telling him he’s wrong. It’s why he had to go from England. Tbh, Aus should hold onto him and give him at least a year to build into the role. He needs an attitude adjustment though.

Not surprising at all Australia under Eddie losing twice to NZ, to Argentina, Boks then France. After losing to all the above, it looked likely they'd lose to Fiji. So under Eddie they've only beaten Georgia. Looks like they'll go down to Wales tomorrow. So Eddie will have to decide and Rugby Australia too. And should Rugby Australia CEO Hamish McLennan resign? He appears incompetent and way out of his depth.

For years I have heard Australian Rugby needs to be strong which keeps NZ on top of their game. We are suffering some consequences post COVID with our main opposition been Australia, have given us false hope. We need to adapt to what’s going on up North and in South Africa. Find a way to play them more often. Additionally, help Oz, 5 Super franchises into 4 will have an immediate impact. 3 test Bledisloe series. The ABs need Oz back at their best.

The AB's decided they didn't want the Boks in the Tri Nations. Being big headed and on a multi year high decided arrogantly it did not suit their schedule.

Not sure they can afford to pay Eddie out after having to pay out Dave Rennie. So many poor administrative decisions of the years has led to Australia at the lowest point in its history. The reality is that Australia has only ever had the strength to field 3 franchises. 5 has watered down their strength so that they have become road kill for NZ teams.

All l can say is this, Australia as a Nation is suffering, So too the Wallabies are suffering .. to the point of a slow death. The Wallabies are a 2 X World Rugby Champions. The Wallabies ideals were born on the underdog status that became all conquerors twice. Since those heady days of ruling the Rugby World Australia as a Nation has lost it's heart, soul, grit, determination and will. And if a Nation is failing so too are our Wallabies who were once our No.1 sporting team in the land. One cannot fix toxic, you have to kill it to regrow it and this is where we find both our Nation and our Wallabies. The rebirth of Rugby Union in Australia has to start at the grass roots and funded by our Nation, A strong Union is a strong Australian Wallaby. Anything else is certain death.

Firing the coach isn’t going to help the problem. The problem is that nobody is playing rugby in Australia. In South Africa, rugby is in your blood. Your school and worth are graded upon their rugby results. Your mood is governed by your team’s performance (high school, club, province, super rugby/ urc or national team)… Rugby is important in the culture, regardless of skin colour. In Australia, there is absolutely zero interest in rugby. There’s a passion for League in a small contingent but AFL is in the blood for the masses. Cannot be world class if only 200 people play the game.

Aussie shoot in their legs the moment they've sacked Rennie when they lost vs Italy, believing that Italy is still the old weak side puncingball put in there to do a training session. They didn't seen the storm coming...a mistake that Abs aren't doing, putting a full force formation against the Italians.

If eddie jones is sacked i think ill give up on australian rugby. Hes been on the job for not even 6 months, I know i may be a sucker, but i believe we need to keep eddie. He knows the problem and is trying to build for the future, i realy believe this. This wallaby team is a completely different team then it was 1 year ago. Individually these players are some of the best of the best. When there on they look outstanding. They just need to keep consistent and grow together. If we get rid of eddie after this world cup thats 4 coaches in 6 years. Eddie's not the fucking problem. Theres alot being said about the wallabies but noones talking about our amateur club rugby or our professional union clubs.

i have the exact opposite opinion of you. eddie is clueless. rennie had the team moving in the right direction, and eddie has destroyed everything. question: if he's building for the future, why did he leave so many good players out of the squad? answer: because eddie picks favourites, not form.
