YOU NEVER KNOW HOW BLESSED YOU WERE, UNTIL YOU LOOK BACKWARDS! I LIVED A LIFETIME WITH EDDIE KENDRICKS! I'M HIS STEP DAUGHTER, I CAN LOOK BACK AND SAY I LOVED EVERY DAY OF BEING HIS DAUGHTER!
Fuiste afortunada entonces...y tal vez no por ser hijastra de Eddie más bien por la vida que el te ofrecio .... Debió ser muy linda y buena !! Saludos 👍🇲🇽
Thank you everyone for loving such an wonderful man! I'm sitting here crying listening to my stepfather sing his beautiful heart out. He was a wonderful loving man even in his private life
I'm from the real discovery ers. I will be blessed to see 67 years on this earth next month. This is the music we danced from all night in the clubs. We did not need the gym. We received our workouts there!
Before there was "Saturday Night Fever" there was underground disco. We found the music to dance to. It was already out there. Love this song. Bought a tear my eye for the old days.
What's amazing about this remix. Is the original is barely 3mins. This version is 9mins. I love everything about this song. The tempo, even Eddie's breathing.
JOE R.....true, all these songs came out in the underground disco way before they went to the regular clubs and the undergrounds stayed open until 8 am in the morning.....
PLEASE re-release this song.. had never heard it before.. what a dance tune so much better than lots of the crap being made today ... this song is EPIC
Transports me back in time 1970's...the clubs, the DJs, the girls, the dresses, the boa's, the hair, the makeup, the high shoes, the perfume, the hustling, the moves, the dancing, the stolen kisses, the eye staring....close your eyes and they are all there.......
This song is the bomb! People today dont seem to know great music and a real talented singer such as Eddie Kendricks. This song is so beautiful, not too many ppl could pull it off like Eddie.
A magical song...the best dancers in NY brought out their best moves to this song...truly inspired us to show off our smoothest moves..RIP and thank you!
What I can tell you! I did have a wonderful lifestyle! It has left me with the greatest memories one could ever enjoyed. Thx to all who takes their time out to still listen to Mr. Eddie Kendricks! ❤❤💋💋
Best time in my lifetime when I hear this song, it just takes me back and I see myself dancing in the disco with all the lights flashing 1:02 . The 70s were amazing timeless.💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻Aug 2024
Happy tears of love and gratitude!😊I love, love, love this song so much I almost can't stand it!❤❤❤❤Such good memories growin' up in the 70's with my bros.❤❤❤❤
I can't get enough of this smooth sounding gentleman, one of the best voices I ever had the pleasure of listening to. There will never be another like Mr. Kendrick s..
I was six years old (kindergarten) when this song came out, and it's been my jam ever since. I'll be fifty-five in May. I'm amazed at my own good taste in music as a kid. Deep calleth unto deep! God bless you, Mr. Kendricks!
He was a great singer I agree after smoking too many cigarettes he lost his voice the last time I saw him was in 1984 he just wasn't just the same man but I still love him so
this song is the soundtrack to my life... been a bboy since around 1996 hardcore...blood sweat and years learning incredible moves and discovering new music changing my life as I knew it... when I heard this and many other songs it brought something out of me I never even dreamt nor I knew existed. I knew what I was born to do, I was certain... Thank god for music.
Another timeless classic for the last of a dying generation that appreciates music...once we gone there will not be a generation that appreciates music like this..y'all know I'm right
The song maybe from 1972 but this 12" version is not otherwise it would be the first 12" 45 produced as far as I am aware! Brilliant track in any case and played on The Northern soul scene for decades!
@@nunu1958 Exactly. Also, Eddie’s solo albums for Motown always had the “Tamla” name on the records and not the “Motown” name like it is here. And was the word “disco” even out yet in 1972?
This song is very poignant and touches the heart. It expresses how I feel when I think of my Mother who recently passed. When you lose your Mother, you do a lot of "secret" crying that people don't see.
I am sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I can relate. I lost my mother almost 12 years ago. You never get over it. We were very close and I miss her lot.
Thank God for this extended mix, this simply was one of the amazing R&B jams we were privileged to grow up on, before underground disco, commercial disco or anything else. However I appreciate those who treasure this music and were blessed to enjoy later what many of our people been dancing to for decades prior (on 45rpm records!). I'm so glad for the era of music I grew up in from the late 60s as the 70s became an amazing decade of creativity and recording technology. Keep on lovin' the music, ya'll!
Truly classic !!! Remeber this song back in the day NYC still love this song miss this type of music truly blessed to have had real music !!! Miss you Eddie!😘 God Bless you in Heaven!
Ive been listening to this track since I was 16, after reading Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and learning about the Gallery and master DJ Nicky Siano, the dawn of what we call House music today has a long long tale
Wonderful. Eddie was the one who tried to help David Ruffin so many times - was there ever a vocal group so blessed as the Temps with their two greatest lead singers?
The youth of today really don't know Good music!! My kid's grew up listening to this music cause that's all that me and they're Dad used to listen to and we used to hustle to this music,, man could we dance!!! Lol Those were the good ole days!!!
Tony Touch played this at Rock Steady Crews Anniversery Party in NEWARK NJ before I left for the NAVY while it was raining pitts and poodles, and it changed my life. it became one of my favorite songs. this is the disco remix, he played the original and i was open. this is real music and we must cherish it with every BPM. PEACE!!!!!!
One of my best memories was to see this brother with two Honeys and have him sang to them at my table and then Shake my hand as he finished the song thank you Father.
I first heard this song on a homemade mix tape a friend had brought with him to play on his little portable cassette stereo as we were slowly "landing" from tripping the night away at an isolated, deserted beach on the Pacific coast of Panama. The ocean's waves were pounding on the shore, the stars quietly fading into a cool, cool dawn. Out of nowhere, a solitary cloud passed over us and a soft rain began to fall. The rain lasted about two minutes then the cloud drifted away. We were dancing like joyful dervishes to this song. One of those perfect moments that can never be duplicated nor forgotten.
Oh, my God!!!! The words that could describe how much I love this song just don't exist!!!!!!!!!! 54 and been jammin' to this since wee single digits!😊
I never heard this song but I love Eddie Kendricks. I am a teenager from the 70's. My older sister loved Motown. Great song. Don't smoke weed anymore but this song make you wanna smoke a joint lol
Today i was passing by the first Disco i ever went to in Miami, The Mix II back in 1973 and the tore the building down. The only thing left is the markee. I remember listening to this classic disco song there that night.
this was a classic a true one for me , I was only 15 yrs old I got introduced to disco in 1970 grew up to fast the 70s era was the best of times ever ,and a lot of our music came out of philly ,along with our trios to wildwood n,j,
I heard this song on the new HBO series "I Know This to be True," wrote down some lyrics and looked it up. I love it! I dance to the 9 min. version as part of my aerobic work. Brings me back to 70's disco and Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Would love to buy a CD or vinyl of this song but can'f find it.
My pops would have this playing all the time in the late 70's and beyond. For years, I wondered who was singing. One day while this was on my mind I asked him, he said you must be referring to "Eddie", lol. I guess I've been a fan all these years and never realized it, this is one of my favorite songs ever. Crazy huh?
Date with the Rain..A classic song, they dont make them like they use too. How I miss all these great song's. The Hustle Era, wish it would come back-all we have is memorie's'
