Eddie Kingston has been one of the best "under the radar" guys in the business for a long time. I think he might be AEW's best pickup this year.

Maybe but we'll have to see how it goes. For me Brodie Lee is still the top pick up this year, and I'd like to see what Miro does, but Eddie definitely has a chance to be that guy if he gets booked right.

The fact that a guy like him, who is undoubtedly mainstream now, recommended those matches makes me EXTREMELY happy. Seriously. Kobashi is the effin' GOAT, and it's criminal when people say Cena, or HBK, or Jericho, or Undertaker are the GOATs. Checking out the four pillars changed what kind of a wrestling fan I am. Before I was all about the promos with The Rock, or just having him be champion all time, but after watching my first five star match.. I was hooked.

It's Chono and Mutoh at their respective physical peaks. The pop at the end of the match is absolutely unbelievable too. Mutoh is genuinely a genius though. Every reinvention is completely revolutionary and changes the game. When his knees were completely shot, he mat-wrestled and built up to kneeing people in the face. Tons of people copied him.

Eddie Kingston is one of my all time favs. I love how candid he is and outspoken and how OPEN he is about mental health. The guy is an inspiration to men. He's a macho guy like a lot of us but still has the struggles a lot of us all face inside and he shows ya how to thug it out and keep it a buck while still doing what's important for your mental wellbeing. The guy's a champion to me.

It is great to see him make it there. I learned about him like a decade ago when reading about the best overlooked independent guys, and honestly he was instantly the most impressive of the people I read about. The consensus was that he should try to be a manager since he was the best talker around but not huge physically. Glad he overcame that dumb obstacle.

Because I do not have cable or satellite TV, I was not familiar with Eddie Kingston's work in Impact Wrestling. When Kingston arrived in the NWA during their pre-Pandemic Era on RU-vid, I thought to myself, "This wrestler would have been a natural for the original ECW. Why did Paul Heyman not sign him?" I was also pleasantly surprised to see, that Kingston could do clean promos, and put on a good in-ring performance. I am very glad to see that he is now getting steady work in AEW. He's been such a great addition on AEW. He has a skillset - particularly on the mic - that's really different than a lot of their roster. I wasn't that familiar with his work, but really good stuff.

Eddie grew up along the way because there was a time where it felt like he wanted to fight the world and now his attitude is like "so what? I get it." The LAX/OGz thing was to get LAX over, not to bring the OGz back so once it was done, the OGz were done. Eddie got it.
