@perfecti333, very true. “Well thanks Eddie, and now over to our main feature. Phone in and tell us if you have a favourite biscuit with your cupppa. Joan from Halifax emailed to tell us she likes nothing better than a digestive to dunk”
Please don't go on like you're smart , you're just blind to conspiracy theories and cant discern reality from a conspiracy theory , Ashkenazi Jews have nothing to do with this you're mentally ill @@arcadealchemist
You are listening to an actor? The people that pretend for a living and get well paid for it! Used by the elites to parrot their deranged agendas! Wake the F up! The guy is a empty vessel!
@@verenamaharajah6082 I think you missed the point of OP’s comment. We’re all on Eddie’s side here, but OP is saying that Eddie’s words went over the heads of the two presenters.
He was talking about everyone. His point was that the same behaviour that is punished if you're from a humble background is rewarded if you're wealthy enough
This is fairly solid explanation of Prince Andrews "I don't sweat" debacle. I would describe it more as the consequences of extreme privilege. Andrew has been surrounded by yes men his entire life. People who would agree with his every word, tell him how amazing he is, how much better, and more intelligent than the unwashed masses he is. An he believes it. He believed it so much so that it genuinely never occurred to the fool to think that the simple "plebs" would be able to see right through his bullsh*t in a heartbeat. In his mind, that interview was a masterful strategy whereby he would easily pull the wool over the eyes of his barely cognisant subjects.
Totally agree with you, Eddie could have been describing Prince Andrew. I think Andrew's downfall was his grossly inflated view of himself and his failure to understand that most people aren't as stupid or as servile as the people that have surrounded him all his life. I wonder if he has changed his attitude, even slightly, since he was "retired". I suspect not, as he seems to have no insight. Probably thinks he's been badly treated by everyone, that we've all been very unfair to him. Perhaps he'll find some comfort in his teddy collection.
I like how he pointed out the most truly privileged act while having the audacity to call the people just trying to live day to day under their dystopian narcissistic rules for you not for me society privileged it’s truly mind numbing how the so-called educated masses fall for this
The mixture of fear and confusion in Dermot and Alison's faces is priceless. As time went on they were clearly panicking, no idea how to respond. Then imagine their relief when he ended with something they could laugh at.
They're laughing because, while he is making a serious point, he is also doing so using humour! Imagine that! The structure of his delivery is intended to get a laugh at the 'punchline'
Those two looked very worried, as if they're going to get into trouble for what he's about to say. That laugh at the end was basically to dismiss his statement and turn it into a joke rather than the injustices people face. Imagine if they nodded and just said, well said.
It is lost on those two. She is thinking about having Shepherd pie or lasagne with garlic bread for supper, and he is thinking about the blue couch and yellow cushions.
He's a massive sycophant. He's concerned with looking like he's engaging with the guest in case the guest is influential, while worrying whether the guest is saying anything that will upset other, more influential people in his network.
Unless I’m getting mixed up in pretty sure that’s Dermot O’Leary- who from every interview or clip I’ve seen of him seems like a pretty down to earth and intelligent bloke. Also a massive Second World War history nut
In the late 80's,/early '90s, I had the pleasure of watching Eddie perform in a pub play before he became famous. At the same time, I was working at The Daily Telegraph alongside the former Prime Minister he mentions. And I can confirm that everything Eddie says is absolutely true, even back then, Johnson behaved like an evil Lord Sebastian Flyte.
He was allowed to say it because it's bulls**t, and they all know it. Marsan IS an elite, and so are all the extremely well paid TV personalities he's on camera with. Everyone above a certain level of wealth whether by work or inheritance is an elite - beyond that it's just degrees to ridiculous that no ordinary person would ever need to have a comfortable life.
Dermot was probably sat there, scared where Eddie was going with it and wondering if he was going to have to butt in or even apologise to the viewers at some point and Alison probably had no clue what he was even talking about.
He's an articulate, curious man with great charisma and confidence, which grandly compensates for him not being conventionally handsome. If he's also funny and a great listener then he's the dream dude for millions of women out there. On dating apps though...could a bloke demonstrate all of the above? Ergh, what a horrible thing dating in modern society is. Online dating apps?! You've got to be joking. Anyhow, I cranked the volume for this vid and appreciated what he had to say. Cheers for the upload.
This ties-in with the concept of psychological reactance. It is the innate human instinct to be oppositional when we are told to do something, quite prevalent in young men. Rich men who display this trait become politicians and CEOs, poor men who display this trait end-up incarcerated.
"Air of omnipotence" is a great choice of words. "Delusions of grandeur" and "Fantastic Thinking" also both spring to mind. As an I.T contractor I've worked for a number of people with these issues in the past but the money was good so I kept my head down.
And Keir Starmer, have you not seen the recent video compilations of him being caught lying more than Pinocchio?... They're all the same, just career politicians!
@@davidholgate123 I don't believe that Boris Johnson is a " just career politician". He is more dangerous than that. Just career politicians usually are in it for themselves. BJ is more dangerous than that because he wants to create something that is bigger than himself. Brexit is just the start. He is believes that he can create god and all morals are beneath him. They can be twisted and bent into any shape that suits his will.
There are a lot of high profile people that think nobody can see their blatant lies, they hold most people in contempt. That is their weakness and they can't see it because they are narcissists.
They were Laughing like? I can’t use an analogy because I feel it would be disrespectful to the analogy.. He was spot on and built up the point nicely. The laughing gang had not idea on his punch line, it was like a moment in the movie no country for old men, when the ‘baddie’ puts the pressure gun to that guys head and says keep still.. Thick as pudding some might say..
Another issue is that politics (and democracy in general) rewards people who are convincing liars. In fact sometimes you don't even need to be all that convincing. Depending on which electoral system is being used, you maybe only have to convince 30%-40% of people. This is why electoral politics attracts so many narcissists and psychopaths in the first place because that type of person can very quickly rise to the top
The man described some things I experienced as a kid. I wasn't a compulsive liar by any stretch, but I do remember having difficulty perceiving others in my life as real independently conscious people. It was kind of like I was a character in a movie where everyone except myself were just like props that almost mechanically interacted with me. As if like this man stated they were '2D' and I was '3D'. Edit: Great video. Might have to look this fella up because he's got my attention.
Love Eddie Marsan. A first class actor and clearly a good and interesting bloke to boot. Top quality chat in the pub for sure. He was aces in 'Ray Donovan' and if you haven't seen him playing in the rarely seen and under-rated 'Pierrepoint' with Timothy Spall, then do give it a whirl. You'll be glad you did. P.S. He wasn't strictly talking about the elites here mind. He was talking about any self-absorbed and selfish young bloke. There's a lot of 'em about in case you hadn't noticed and to think they are restricted to the 'elites'? Na. That's really just self-serving and simply the green eyed monster coming to the fore.... ;)
Wow, didn't know he was such a bright guy! He's onto something, don't necessarily agree 100% on his "elite" conclusion (elite is a very over and misused word carelessly thrown around nowadays) but he's definitely worth listening to and considering.
Unfortunately for Eddie , actors are some the worst offenders. Divorced from reality and delusional about their relevance and intelligence but protected.
Amazing actor. I saw him play Himmler the other day, and he was spot on. On a HBO show called, ‘Ray Donovan’ he played a brother struggling with Parkinson’s and I had to check to see if he really had been afflicted with the disease.
Eddie chose the wrong show I fear. This was probably sandwiched between someone making fake flowers out of old shoes, and some old dear getting a makeover.
