Bro you making no sense comedians roast and tear down ppl for a living 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ but you wanna boo hooo comedians who already steal from others. Y’all pick n choose morals
Shannon seems to be rushing him and not letting him get into his groove. You see the difference with guys he reveres as opposed to guys he just thinks he’s doing an interview with -
I think Carlin's biggest strength, that hasn't been listed that I can see, is that he could EASILY move through his set without a hard pause to the next thing. Offhand, I only know of a single time in a special where he said "I don't have an ending on this joke, so I'm just going to bow" before moving on.
Those are gonna be the top 4 for anyone who made it on an average persons top 4. Dave and Eddie have the most money but I’m sure even they would agree that Pryor, Carlin, Foxx and Mooney. Eddie is the leader of the modern generation and he looked up to those comedians
Im glad he mentioned the fundraising because I was thinking that he needs to make his own special and we need to support this brother. It's about time he got his shine under the lights!
Arsenio is also underrated. I’ve seen him a couple of years ago at the Arlington improv funny from start to finish. Just well polished timing was impeccable.
@@steppinrzr8396 Not only that, but at the time the top late night show was Johnny Carson. Other networks failed at delivering a late night show to compete with his show and it was untouchable until the Arsenio Show came. I don't know if it ever beat the Carson show in ratings, but he was the only one who could compete against Carson's show. And he didn't do that because he wasn't funny. He left the business in the late 90s and got overlooked as time went on but he is a very talented comedian.
Godfrey is in the intelligent genre of comedy, I'd compare him to Dave. He touches on all the spectre of societal issues. A marvel to watch. Kudos!!! Let's donate to the fund.
Mooney doesn't get the respect he deserves. Carlin wasn't just a brilliant comedian, he was a philosopher who also happened to be hilarious and incredible at writing jokes
There may be an actual reason of why that is and it’s not a good one. I’ll just leave it to you and whoever else reads my comment to guess why that maybe is
@@Dipset415it was a different time and for a lot of us we were kids so it will always be top tier. Same with Martin Lawrence you so crazy and kings of comedy
Godfrey is great, all around, his humor, his love and respect for the art form and for the participants is amazing .His impersonations are hilarious also!
Facts. Extremely intelligent and has insights into a variety of subjects. But his knowledge of "the history of stand-up comedy" is extremely impressive.
He never will unfortunately Wont sell out Plus he's pro Farrakhan That's anathema to the powers that be You can say what you think or have Hollywood success, can't have both
I've ALWAYS said when Godfrey does the comedians that have passed its like he's channeling them... it feels like they're in the room when he does it! 🙏🏾
Mike Epps does a good Pryor. Marlon Waynes does a great pryor. Godfrey becomes Pryor. That one he is talking about Pryors son bombing on stage as pryor using all the pryor imitations not as Godfrey but as Pryor would whn he is making fun of someone in his stories was goosebumps chilling. A level of genius I have never seen befr or since.
I used to see Dave Chappelle in the Village, NYC back in the mid 90's, way before he was known. He would be in Washington Square park telling jokes. I thought he was homeless at that time.
Eddie dropped Delirious at age 22. It changed standup specials forever and is the most influential stand up special of all time. There are specials before Delirious and after Delirious. Then he dropped Raw which became the highest grossing stand up comedy film ever released without adjusting for inflation if you adjust for inflation the gap gets even bigger. Def belongs on Mt Rushmore.
@@terreyll3148 I mean achievements matter. If someone said their Mt. Rushmore of basketball players, you'd expect actual career achievements/stats to be that decision not who the person likes the most. Even if Stockton was your favorite player he don't belong on that list. Same thing here.
Godfrey is always impressive and his best attribute is being relatable. Even when it's not jokes and just commentary he's always interesting to watch/listen.
@@MrThurman08 okay so you need to be Mr Smarty Pants and just let the joke go right over your head to be a passive aggressive douchebag. I get it it's all good. That's internet people for you
Dave Chappelle show is literally the funniest thing ever aired. He was consistent and provided a lot of content. His standups are also top tier. He’s the greatest comedian and still going. His comedy has changed and matured
George Carlin was brilliant on and off stage Brilliant Mind RIP, years later you realize he wasn't just a Conspiracy Theorist he knew WTF was coming and WTF he was talking about
Carlin was great legendary cuz he put out a lot of specials. But he did not bring the ROARING laughs and was a little too preachy. Chappelle took his spot imo
Stand up is not the same as tv or movies. Eddie has a short stand up career that's why he's not on many comedians top 5. Overall he may be #1. Top 10 stand up, top 2 comedic actor, maybe the best ever. Few are both top 10 stand up and comedic actor. Actually no one is but Eddie. Pryor didn't have the movie star power like Eddie, but #1 instand up. Name your top 10 stand up comedians, only Eddie is also a box office super star.
@abuhassan9321 it's been years, the same reason mysonne and Lord Jamar stopped rocking with vlad. Basically he refused to apologize for misquoting Louis Farakhan
