I can totally understand Chris' continued escalation of fear in front of Eddie Murphy. I guess it's part experience with Eddie's sharp wit and humor that makes you reconsider each joke you make in fear of it not living up to the standard he sets and part the rare feeling for a true comedy legend to not be the biggest fish in the pond for once, that puts you out of your comfort zone and an achieved comedian. That's just the reasoning I'm building from my own experience as a somewhat funny dude who met funnier dudes (and some actual comedians) in the past and didn't know how to act or how to maintain confidence. So...just a hunch but...plausible, I believe

I think I caught that, he supports Mulaney and not his Wife who he said was there for him when he first was getting clean when they were together. Rock's wife did well in the divorce (deservedly or not) and Rock was so impressed with his ex-wife's lawyer, he recommended them to Mulaney. Shit happens. Relationships fall apart.. especially if it may have started out in recovery... Infidelity isn't cool.. but also people DO grow out of who they were and can make bad decisions on what to do about it.. I'm not gonna judge nor take it personal unless it IS personal... nor do I think he took a shot at Mulaney's wife.. just what it is. A divorced man giving another man advice based on his own experience.. Love is beautiful. Relationships are beautiful. But a breakup/divorce can bring out the worst of the worst. I have 2 ex-sis-in-laws (neither bc infidelity). Still nasty.
