Eddie is on The Rock Walk in front of the Guitar Center. His hand prints are there next to Les Paul. He doesn't have an actual star on The Hollywood walk of Fame. If some one has passed away they can be nominated 5 years after their death. So I am going to make sure I put his name up for nomination.

Indeed he did. He has in the past not given the same due respect to Jimmy Page, also by any standards a master of guitar and inventor. He repeatedly mocked him and had unkind things to say even in later years. I have total respect for opinions and objective criticism. I don’t like things said in a mean streak. But like Liam Gallagher, Elton John, Cher and many others, he was opinionated and often expressed it in ways better left for non public consumption. That being said, if he were perfect he wouldn’t even exist. And thank God he did exist. The artistry he laid upon us was not of this universe

Eddie was the smily-est, truest, most humble, grateful, respectful & kindest of rock stars OR musicians & fucking incredibly amazing guitarist...NATURALLY. It ALL came so natural to him & his endearing literally loveable perma- smile. His death causes me actual grief & I never met him but did see Van Halen in 84, 85, 87, 90 & more I forget exactly from the Salt Palace to Irvine Meadows & a couple more totalling 11 concerts over the years. Eddie ALWAYS delivered ALWAYS shared his love for his fans... In front row once he kept smiling, joking & talking with us as he hardcore jammed & played to a sold out stadium audience during eruption. He made us feel like we were friends & in a very special Eddie way we were for that brief moment. I was so stunned by how he treated us like equals or maybe even a bit like he admired us as in he was such a cool regular person too. Eddie was the 1st person who taught me by pure example only that true success and Mastery at anything comes especially to those who are grateful for it, show it and share it with others in like fashion and manner etc.. He had his demons of course but we all do so who cares his good way outshined them as is supposed to be the case. He died surrounded by even his ex and all who loved him/his family. RIP Eddie VanHalen. God, youll truly be missed. Truly.

Every human being has it ups and downs and ed was no exception...BUT i´m very proud to lived in a time when eddie was alive and made pure rock music. Hendrix was already gone when i was born (1980), and never was my hero. Not because i didn´t liked him but i think every generation has its insperation. Thats why eddie was my hendrix and i´m grateful for his influence not only because his style but also in terms of development of amps and guitars. Look at this huge impact he created for us...(Frankenstrat, Floyd Rose, EBMM EVH, Peavey 5150, Peavey/EVH Wolfgang...) God bless you >Edward Van Halen
