Eddie Vedder will always be one of the greatest singers ever.He and Chris Cornell,.. (And Freddy Mercury, who originally did this song, always and forever)
I checked the lyrics of the song, a beautiful and intelligent song-music! Thank you, QUEEN, Freddie Mercury...Thank you Eddie Vedder and Ben Harper, too. Cheers to all.
I'm a bit spoiled. I was just a kid when the Beatles kicked the door down. Vedder's lyrics aren't as deep as some, but I agree he is the best of the best of the last 20 years. I love his ukulele album and especially "Without You". Peace Babylon.
Eddie , brilliant in everything he does... Ben Harpy .. Never heard of him and never want to hear him again .. He's like one of those freaks on American idol
i don't think this normally applies to these two singers, but in this video i think vedder sounds kinda like bowie when he sings low, and harper sounds kinda like bowie when he sings high. they sound cool together; good emulation of the record with some great additions from their collective creative minds. RIP Freddie Mercury
Ben Harper got the harder task to cover Freddie Mercury while Eddie Vedder got the easier one to cover David Bowie. Those critics to Ben Harper's performance aren´t fair at all. Even though, it was a great cover from both, almost close to the original.
Ben Harper does a pretty good job trying to cover the Freddie Mercury vocals. But you have to remember how much a fucking great singer he was. Very difficult.
@kabbyatt HORRIBLE hey? i'd like to see what you call special then? Not hating at all, your opinion is yours but i have seen this live and it is AWESOME!!!!
The Freddie Mercury cover is obviously hard, probably too hard for most vocalists because Freddie could cover so much vocal ground. Even Annie Lennox couldn't do an admirable job. The Foo Fighters do a good cover, a combo of sharing. I like Eddie Vedder in this cover, but I'm afraid that while Ben Harper does a good try, it's not quite there. For an interesting take, listen to Jazzapella's version of Under Pressure...that is if you love the song and not just the musicians. cheers.
