I think it might be that the monster had seen him land and actually revealed himself to him because he looked up at something maybe the monsters mist was hiding in a trash can or something and just flew out of it and possessed tom because maybe his clothes ripped because the monster couldn't fit his clothes so they ripped

hey im here three months after youve commented this to point out a few issues in your explanation in tomskas initial explanation on tumblr he mentioned that tom becomes a demon when he is either too angry or stressed, and as you pointed out he looked overwhelmed, which could be the cause of him becoming said demon. another thing which others have pointed out is in the animatic for the end during the scene where tom is walking away from the house, he has smoke coming from his eyes, of course this was cut for unknown reasons but considering it was an idea, and most likely scripted at first, just contributes more towards tom being a demon. with the couch scene where he throws it through the wall, you argue its just a play on cartoon logic but theres never really been prior use of it in former episodes unless it is used to move the story along or the main plot, so it would be a bit strange to introduce it on what was intended to be one of the last episodes. about you claiming trick or threat to not be canon, i do agree with that as it seems strange for it to actually be canon but there wouldve been no real reason to add in the end part of the song, it easily couldve ended many other ways. a few final notes about this as well, if tom wasnt the demon in power edd, where would it have come from? theres no signs of it prior besides the camera panning away, and even after the camera panned back tom was nowhere to be seen after the demon showed up. theres a few other things id add but im too lazy, of course youre allowed to believe what you want but i felt it might be fun to debate a bit thanks for coming to my TedTalk 🐟

Pretty much it's because his mother is a bowling ball, and every person is detailed by their dad and mom (if the person isn't adopted), but Tom is adopted in this case. In 25ft under the seat, when it's flashback time, it shows the dad as a pinneapple (does not reveal) and Tom was born with black eyes already.
