This is a killer track, I mostly listen to metal, but if i want a bit of reggae- its Eddy every time - this is my favorite Eddy Track of all time, and love the video - quite emotional watching this and just very lovely..
One of the greatest entertainers to come out of the Caribbean. Born in Guyana, sojourned in Uk, lived again in the Caribbean. But always had his mind on his ancestral homeland. A true anthem for Africa and the diaspora.
Great song but one mistake in the lyrics. The only tigers I see are tame....... Tigers are not an African species. Eddy should have picked a different large cat!
There's another version I'm trying to find that I used to hear as a kid in the 80&90s. Male lead, female background and more uptempo. Sound familiar to anyone?

There’s a version I remember my grandma used to play when I was younger & I can’t find it anywhere but I’m going to keep looking & I’ll reply again if I do. I need that song! 😭
@@safiatusavage4587 nooo you’re definitely not remembering wrong. In fact, I think we’re both thinking of the same version 😂. I haven’t heard that song in years but I can still definitely remember how it sounds. I’ve just listened to a few other versions on here & none of them are the right one. I’m going to keep looking, and if I don’t find it on RU-vid then I’m gonna ask my family to go through all their old records and maybe I’ll upload it myself 😂
I wish I could see Eddy I love him since I was a little girl and I still love him and his music. I love the song about the Struggle .And I like I hear America have a brand new President.
I saw him live 1979 when he stayed with his then Nigerian producer Bob Okenedo who lives next to our house at Olailewa street Lawanson, Surulere. The rumours of his stay so much spread and i could remember, almost all the youths in that area trooped in to the house he stayed.
