I've been trying to find this song for +2 years. I googled the lyrics (even though i used to look for "try" instead of "truck", but the rest of the lyrics was correct) but i never found it. I had lost my hope lol, but i found it today! :) 8th june 2019
My dad listened to it(1989 RIP) my eldest bro took over(alive and well nearing his 60s), I learned from him(Alive and well early 40s), now my son (alive and well late teens)
Good memories from 1981, I was 8 years old. I loved this song, I would sing it everywhere and anywhere. The thing is 8 year old me thought the song was actually about trucks, which young boy does not I love trucks. One day I sang it at my uncle's house in Durban and got a slap for my efforts. Later on, my mother told me to not sing it anymore. So I forgot about it, much later when Dr Victor remade the song and I was at university did I understand the song.
This is a great song. Nice to see there are so many Eddy fans out there. I have just about everything he has ever released, I think anyway. I love him.
Siberia Russia here. Heard this first time at mid 80s. Still enjoying through the years. Strangely this song wasn't in "the best" or "the greatest" compilations.
This song is do under rated. Brilliant, more than 20 years old, but still fills the dance floor. One 9f the very few songs I still carry in my heart, after all this years, connects me to my beautiful past memories, feels like I'm living there. Takes me back in time. This is spiritual. Truly a gift to humanity. ❤❤
Música eterna. Em 2019 fui a uma festa em Luanda-Angola , o DJ tocou essa música e a alegria foi generalizada com toda a gente abarrotando a pista de dança . Oh que coisa boa
I blame my father for me being here enjoying this classic😂💯🔥I remember when I was 8 - 13 bumping this on my way to go play Baseball and this song was so cool that when the adults saw me playing it they looked so confused thinking how do I know this song😂😂😂I thank my father for introducing me to his music at a young age so now me being older (24) appreciating the classics that were before my time and still bumping it🔥💯
What an incredible track. I cannot sit down when I listen to this song..so emotional. The driving guitar solo is amazing. I remember seeing him in Minneapolis after the release of Electric Avenue and he tore the joint down. EG is one of the great unknowns...thanks for sharing!!!
This song STILL rocks... and that guitar solo (AND THAT BASS GUITAR!!) is still killing me softly after all these years... a Golden Oldie indeed!! Thanx for sharing and taking me down memory lane... ;-)
I dont have word to express such quality...Music and Musician like that does not exist any more. I`ve always heard this music wiht a lot of nostalgie...
History should be followed and draw lessons from the past and present so that our SPIRITUAL FUTURE will be SUCCESSFUL. Material reality is not more important than SPIRITUAL.
It was back in 1970 that "trucking" became all the rage. The "Youthbeat" column in the Winnipeg Free Press (Oct 19, 1970) attempted to explain what the phenomenon was all about, and how it originated: "Trucking," the expression for an exaggerated let-it-all-hang-out style of walking, is catching on.
(Croatian) Treba pratiti povijest. I izvući lekcije iz prošlosti i sadašnjosti da bi nam DUHOVNA BUDUĆNOST bila USPJEŠNA.Materijalna stvarnost nije važnija od DUHOVNE.
