Lovely interview and sharing your place of birth. Your love for Guyana, proves one thing...100% Guyanese and true to the Guyana motto.. "One people one Nation one Destiny". I was born in England of Guyanese parents and love Guyana. A truly beautiful country. Would be nice Mr Eddie Grant, to write and sing a song about Guyana.😉 Thank you.

Sad to see the Lyric theater closed - when the British started leaving we lost many of the theaters here. There was not the trash on the street like when I last visited a few years back. It is still a beautiful place but it is a shadow of it's former self. Hopefully Plaisance will return to it's former glory.

Love this Man. Have known him just a few months ago after coming across with his song "Electric Avenue" being played on a Filipino movie, and felt so nostalgic then. So I searched it and made me known of the man, Eddy Grant. I've been loving and listening to his songs then. Love also this place. Seems so peaceful.

I had the "baby come back album" in the late 60's early 70's. Then in 1976 the Equals reunion that brought out "Funky like a train" was performed at the National Park. The Equals didn't come on until 1 am maybe as "The Music Machine" with Aubrey cummings and Saggie jarvis and company were really jamming. Now a song that came out with the yoruba singers and Eddie grant called " yoruba drums" I think, is a song I would love to hear. Unfortunately I can't find it any where.

@@charlesthorne4529 Thanks. Charles. I have a friend in Barbados who know EG. I would ask him to see if EG has the copy. I have some old music buddies from the 1970's Guyana music scene who migrated but continued playing. I am the only one who didn't continue playing but all I need to do is hear it one more time and I would be able to do our version of it. Thanks for the ideal.

@Gorgon Don The brutish are everywhere. You cannot escape from brutish people. We have seen that in America of late with brutish people looting and burning things. Perhaps the only way to deal with brutish people is to apply firm laws against them from acting out.

I remember back when I was in school in the late 70s when people used to argue about Eddie Grant and whether or not he was a Rasta. Most said that he wasn't a Rasta, he just grew his hair like that. He certainly doesn't act like someone who is following that religion and many people grow dreadlocks who are not Rastafarians so I am sure he is not. One thing that is notable though, Eddie Grant is the only one that I have ever known to grow dreadlocks whilst at the same time, maintaining a clean shaved look. That's not a criticism or a bad thing, I like the image actually but it's just an observation because, whether they are Rastas or not, most blokes that grow dreads also let their beards grow, it's just unusual in my experience for someone to have dreads and no beard. His music is fantastic though.
