Reading up about the October 7th massacre at the Nova music festival will enable you to understand the song. The strange people "dancing in the background" represent the the young people being shot by the terrorists. Her vest has a hole in it - representing a gun shot. People left the group to get information or find friends but were also killed - left but never said goodbye. Tell me you'll hold me again - same theme of loss. Its a powerful song. Well done!
thank you for listening and doing a reaction video. i get it that its not your kind of music, most of the eu songs arent my kind of music. i love balads, and melodies.... i find the lyrics very profound, and the song its self very powerful affecting my soul. im glad you appreciated the video and her singing. much love to you.❤ from israel.
Now research what is the song about (do you know what is the specific "hurricane" is she talking about? Hint: original name was "October Rain") And now listen to the lyrics again. Every detail in the song, dance and scene has deep meaning.
She is talking about october 7 2023. the day when many innocent jews and israelies lost their lives due to Hamas. This song has such deep meaning and Although she might not win, she will always be the winner in my heart...עם ישראל חי וימשיך לרקוד ולחיות לנצח.💃
These are not weird people - these are the young people on Nova music festival in Israel. In the midst of their dancing and celebrating Life they were brutally slaughtered. and some were kidnapped . The whole country of Israel was in chock and deep mourning. The hurricane is some of what they went through and are still going through since 130 of the kidnapped are still in captivity in horrible conditions.🇮🇱💗
See Zherzl67 above. To me, the movements of the dancers represent the victims as they are being murdered. What happened was truly horrific. But Israelis always somehow manage to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and start all over again. It's their way. It's how they have survived as a nation for 3,700 years - despite all the tragedies. So proud of my countrymen!
@xsezz My Israel will win the gold medal at the Eurovision 2024 Grand Final on May 11th 2024 in Malmo Sweden. I guarantee it. Title #5 will be ours my Israel. My Jerusalem 2025. Love triumphs forever over evil and violence. SWEDEN WONT SEE ISRAELS WIN COMING. F ANTISEMITISM. Eden during your live performance sing October Rain during the Grand Final...thatlll shut the enemies up.
This song is about the massacres at the Nova festival on October 7th. The toning down of the clothes to simple cloth and off white reflects the color of mourning which is white in Judaism. Tearing one's clothes is also part of mourning which is reflected in the bandage stripes upper part of Eden's dress. The circle is a multi faceted metaphor. It echoes the attempt of the victims to protect themselves by huddling together as well as the "tarabouche", an Arabic word for encircling a victim before attacking. Another symbol is the circle which is typical of the calm center of hurricanes. This echoes de-personalization experiences of victims of trauma who do not feel the full impact of what is happening which helps them to remain sane. The wheel represent the ardorous wheel of life. The light behind is the light dying persons seem to see when they leave the world behind. Light is a central metaphor in Judaism: a little light shines brightest in deep darkness. The simplicity of the song befits the theme which is beyond drama. It places Eden's powerful and heartfelt voice into the foreground. Great tragedy requires simplicity. So does great pain. Eden will not win this contest but she will not be SILENCED. She will be heard and Israel will continue to pray and sing as it has for 3500 years. They always come for us but we always dance again. Eden is brave and so are the Israeli people. We will live.
Thank you for the honest reaction. I watched a bunch for eurovisio, and I always appreciate those who are clear about their criteria. My reaction to your reaction is thumbs up \m/
I like the song and video from Israel. I thought his video was excellent. It showcased his opinion on the music, he was clear why he didn't like it. He left the politics out of it. He also complimented her incredible voice and gave a novel description of it. If more videos just stuck to truth rather than trying to game the system, youtube would be a better place.
