Hiro said in interviews that he got sick and tired of making the villains of Fairy Tail as sympathetic as possible, so he made these ones as the most despicable menagerie of creatures you'll ever witness, that way the observers can tap-dance on their ashes. I hope the whole world celebrates when Shura is put to ground at long last. Illega, Jamilov/Spider, Madame Kurenai, Dr. Muller and Cure are all "Complete Monsters".
It wouldn’t hurt to have a sympathetic villain but we’ll probably get that in the returned demon king in this newest arc. Though I like that some of the side villains and some main villains are shown to be just as evil as they act; gets a little diversity in there that not everyone has some tragic backstory, is being controlled, or otherwise is a good person thinking they’re doing the right thing.
@@ThatAnimeSnob more like not every villain has to have some sobstory or big reason why they’re doing this; sometimes it can be as simple as just wanting some slaves / furniture like illega or just enjoying killing people. I mean sometimes someone could be like GMG Minerva becuase that’s just how they are and not becuase as a kid they were hurt blah blah blah. For example in redo of healer manga bullet / Brett got a backstory; it simply reinforced what readers already thought of him rather then try to give some reason or make him sympathetic why he was evil.
To be honest Eden's zero fixed pretty much all problems i had with Ft. The think i love the most about EZ is how creative Mashima gets with different planet , worlds. Some of them are so beautifull to look at .
its great stuff, why i hate this series gets so much hate, this isn't rave or fairy tail, you can tell that Mashima listen to backlash, and finally improving his work, Eden Zero will be his best work

With Fairy Tail he would think up the beginning and ending of an arc, then fill in the rest as he went. This style is actually very common and is a good way of approaching writing, but only if you're capable of connecting certain elements together to make it so it doesn't break established canon. With Eden Zero though he supposedly outlines not only the beginning and ending, but certain plot crucial details and aspects that connect the current story to previous arcs.

I also love how it's pretty much a direct parody of "power of friendship" trope people hate from Fairy Tail, since pretty much everyone tells him "shut up, that's not how the world works". And he slowly learns that they are mostly right, it isn't how the world works.
Thank God someone is talking about Edens Zero seriously. I've been trying to explain to my buddies that it's not just Fairy Tail in space. That it's literally the result of Hiro Mashima boil down all the best parts of his past series and throwing it all together, but only a few of them has listened.
Mashima's stories are like watching movies made with the same actors but different plots every time, It's honestly pretty cool how he does change the characters even though they do seem to be similar to their old ones.
One thing I've noticed is that even people who hated Fairy Tail actually really enjoy Eden's Zero. ChibiReviews himself praises it a lot actually so it's nice to see people give Mashima a sort of second chance in the Grand space of things
I'm one of those people. I never really liked fairy tail, but dude eden zero is way better than ft. Also i like how he hiro mashima's character design as a fan of rave master I've no complain going into ft at first till i dropped it after the grand magic games. People should think of his character designs as actors with different roles for different stories. Eden Zero is now one of my favorite manga! Glad he learned from his past mistakes with ft.
it feels to me like this is the actual realization of his potential, he developed the characters, art, worldbuilding, themes and plot a lot more than in Fairy Tail at least, it seems like he fixed most of my complaints and reasons to dislike the series the only thing is the reused designs wich kind of bothers me, seems like a cheap way to get your previous audiences back in and skip some of the work you'd have to do getting people attached to the new stuff
@@ivello Theres actually a explanation for the reused designs. Mashima is thinking up his characters sorta like Osamu Tezuka and Go Nagai uses their characters where they are sorta retellings or in a shared universe or a non cannon crossover.
I personally think the way hiro's artstyle looks is very unique and distinct and the way he reuses the designs of certain characters makes you think all of his works are connected in some way or another, it's ignorant for people to just assume he's lazy when he can easily make new designs and is constantly working on manga
Mashima's style certainly is easy to recognize, but he also tents to reuse the same body-model over and over again, which actually can cause issues in the manga version of things. An example is that in the final arc, for a time, Zeref looked almost exactly like Grey, so when the website screwed up and I saw this image before the context, I was very confused... Mashima usually makes enough effort with hair, eyes and clothing to hide that though, but sometimes it can cause issues.

Mashima stated many times that one of his biggest inspirations as an author are video games like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy and that he wants his works to be seen similar to them. In Final Fantasy for example every game has its own distinct setting, with its own characters, story, worldbuilding and themes, but there are many things that are universal to the series as a whole(monsters, spells, summons, jobs, chocobos, moogles, a man named Cid that is connected to airships). For example Plue and Happy can be compared to Mog, who appears in games like FF6, FF9 or FF13-2 but in all of them he is a distinct character with its own backstory and personality.

Honestly I’m not saying Fairy Tail was perfect but it wasn’t nearly as bad as some anime youtubers say it was and it’s spin off/sequel series is pretty good. It’s interesting to hear that Edens Zero seems to be more darker and edgier in a good way and kinda of a combination of Mashima’s two previous series, it’s so dumb there are people making assumptions and hate without really giving it a chance that’s not how you judge something dammit.
Yeah that is my main gripe with the “anime community” as a whole. If it’s something really popular and is a must watch, unless I am already reading or watching it beforehand, my expectations grow way too high and I know for a fact they can’t be met. Which is why shit like Jojos and HXH I can’t actually enjoy because people have set the bar way too high and I know they can’t be reached. So I have to pass on them. On the flip side when people are just mass hating on something I have to play Devil’s advocate and see if what they say is true or if the series has some merit. And usually they do. And is why in this year before it ends I want to get through all of Fairy Tail and judge the series on my own. Throwing out the biases like from Joey or KOL out the window.

Its not as grandiose as the fandom makes it seem, and part 1 is a DRAG to get through. I'm convinced that anyone who tries to flame Mashima for having "Similar looking characters" have never seen Toriyama's artwork outside of Dragon Ball (The Dragon Quest games and Chrono Trigger for example). Or any of a mangaka's other works/projects for that matter.
Actually he reuses designs because of Masami Kurumada, check him out, a manga legend. He reuses character designs for characters in similar roles, the star system if memory doesnt fail me. Add: also aparently the star system was created by ozamu tezuka, but since Mashima generation was heavily influented by kurumada and toryama, Im willing to bet he learned that from him.

People do need to give Eden zero a chance mashimo is a good manga artist the only reason why he reuses characters and designs is he loves putting Easter eggs and shit, it's like his own personal calling card when it comes to his manga.
Not reused designs, it's the art style that take time to grow. Only few characters are based on previous work, but even they are different in their profile too.
Eden's zero just makes me incredibly happy, it really feels like I'm reading fairy tail again, but it's just so much better and well put together. The characters are familiar, but so much more interesting, the world is more immersive and dynamic, and the story is really intriguing. This is just such a good series, I'd highly recommend anyone to pick this up. Sadly, I have to agree with your criticisms. People either only give a damn about fairy tail and don't wanna pay attention to anything else mashima does cause FT was never something you had to use your brain for. Or people despise FT and never wanna give eden's zero a chance even when they're NOTHING alike. This is one of the best shounen out right now, and really shows mashimas talent with characters, worlds, comedy, and so much more. And his genius when it comes to stories. I don't remember any shounen before this one taking such a dark turn and capitalizing on modernization. Everyone wants to hate until they see how much of a king mashima is.

This made me so happy! Eden's Zero is so good and it gets so much hate for no reason. I'm glad someone's talking about some good points why this series works! I saw this manga at my local comic bookstore in 2019 and fell in love with the different feel of the world or Galaxy.
I hate how people claim "it gets hate for no reason". Even JS said main reasons are copy pasting charakters, lazy writing and weak plot where power of friendship does way to much.
When people say mashima is lazy, they have absolutely no idea that he draws all day, and is a complete workaholic. Hell he had three manga going on at one point, and all of them made the deadline. He worked so hard that he was forced to take a break, and it was only for a day before he got back working, so forgive the man for using the same designs

And so far it does NOT make a good first impression, because it DOES feel exactly Fairy Tail in space..... And seeing as they spend seemingly half of each episode raving about friendship it also DOES appear to be just another friendship manga.... Which is somethign that is WAY overplayed in the creator's works. I don't mind friendship... But it feels like half of the time that is all they can talk about.... And yeah... First impressions DO matter!

I’d recommend people read EZ the art is more impressive then FT. I’m still waiting for a dub release for EZ anime. But EZ is very underrated, manga sells show that, the recent vol only sold 40k +. EZ has yet to find a Mainstream audience in Japan. That being said read Ez. The art is great, the character design are very good, the fan service is there. And the story is very impressive. I really appreciate this video. Because I thought it was odd that the mainstream anime community wasnt discussing it which is bizarre. Now i see why. Ez isn’t JJK or TR but it is a very soild fun story.

Mashima is smart by having similar character designs. It saves him time and is why he’s able to have multiple series ongoing at the same time. His fans can also recognize the characters and jump right into Mashima’s next manga. Some Mangaka aren’t able to have the same success after their big hit. A recent example is Kishimoto and Samurai 8.
I'd argue against Drakken's first scene suggesting him to be "morally ambiguous" because Drakken didn't just stop at breaking the dude's mouth, but put him to work as a slave so he could keep bleeding him dry of every drop of money (and lifeforce) he's worth. Rather, I think it's more accurate to say Drakken _thinks_ he's a morally grey figure when we can plainly see he's nothing short of a human parasite. That is its own very special kind of scummy villainy, and I hope more analysts will start giving this show a watch at least for that.
Exactly! He's a predatory loan shark, his closest real world equivalent being the Yakuza. He doesn't kill people, but not because he thinks killing is wrong, but because he views everyone around him as tools to make money. I agree with the core premise that he's an amazing villain.
Plus he wouldn't kill people out to satisfy is violence if he doesn't get his money back or what he wants, He's the kind of villain who wants to show fates worst than deaths. Plus he only kills if people were to refuse bowing to his authority, Some of his men betrays him by helping the enemy or even if you sell out his name while being beaten by people beneath him.
The whole Mishima copy/paste thing is a moot point on haters part. Hey I love YuYu and I love HXH but let’s not pretend that Kewabara doesn’t look like Knuckle, or Hiei doesn’t look like a member of the phantom troupe, or Gon isn’t just yuskue with big hair and a smaller bod.
Osamu Tezuka, father of manga himself, often reused his character designs in his other works. He said that he treats them like actors who may appear in numerous stories but they play different characters. Hiroyuki Takei, author of Shaman King also reused the character of Itako no Anna in his works And let's not even start with Akira Toriyama and his strikingly similar designs across Dr Slump, Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest.

Eden's Zero really shows mashima's growth as both an artist and story teller. He found a tone he really wanted to do and improved upon it! With fairy tail, he wanted it to be more light hearted than rave master, and now in eden's zero, he wanted to do something darker and more morally gray (in a way). The thing is that he's DOING OTHER STUFF that was touched upon in his other series but now he gets to explore. And really with how Edens Zero is going, I love it. I wanna explore the worlds he's created. With Rave Master, I wanted everything to be okay and for things to become peaceful. With Fairy Tail, it was one long journey with characters I'd absolutely love to be friends with! And now Eden's Zero takes it up another notch of combining both and then escalating it to a galactic trip where ANYTHING can happen. Feel how you feel about his stories, I won't push you either way. But give it a chance and maybe you'll find an adventure of his you wanna follow and see through. Great video as always! I love the introspection and how you discuss his characters. Mashima is definitely strongest when writing relationships and how it affects the story.
What it comes to mashimas series you can definitely see is history in all of them. Rave master was his gateway, in creating a story that got him credit in the Manga industry. And is a fantastic story overall. Fairytale in my opinion is his magnum opus. Has more of a different tone the most shonen and achieve something different that to my experience no other manga or anime series is able to replicate. And why does have its flaws sometimes it’s an amazing series overall And shot him up even further in the manga industry for better or for worse. And even the criticism he’s gone for fairytale he’s embrace that and fix those issues in not only 100 year quest, but also Eden zero. Which in my opinion seems like him mixing the tones of both of his series together with a couple of twists and make it something new. I haven’t seen it yet but I can’t wait to see what’s in the store. Great video

As someone whose favourite anime used to he Fairy Tail, I can say that it was by no means perfect, whilst I'll always love Fairy Tail, I can't help but adore Edens Zero far more. I've always been a sci-fi guy than a magic man, heck I love Star Wars more than Harry Potter, so genre-wise this is up my alley. I also think Mashima has not only refined the ideas he displayed in Fairy Tail, which also introducing more to stop making Edens Zero from being "space Fairy Tail". I also like the power system more, as I think it just helps to make the characters more consistent in terms of power-scaling. I am glad to say Edens Zero is my new favourite anime and I cannot wait to see the next few arcs in the manga be animated and to see where else in the cosmos Mashima takes us

I do like Eden Zero, especially when it's an improvement compared to Fairy Tail. It does have problems here and there, but it's all in all good. My favorite part about the series is Ether Gear, as I love the concept of power systems within a series.

THANK YOU FOR THIS. I really love Eden Zero. I really love fairy tail too but to me Eden Zero was a step up and had a lot to explore on! I couldn't converse with anyone about it nor my interest in it because of the fear that I would be brushed off. I honestly have a personal connection with Shiki with his drive to befriend as many people as they could due to the inability of not being able to in the past. I learned through him that it's okay that there are some that don't work out and there are some that stay, and that's okay.
It's funny how everyone complains about Eden's Zero recycling character designs, yet noone bats an eye when Naomi Urasawa does it (the best mangaka of all, imo)

Been reading almost two and a half years and Edens Zero consistently remains at least in my top 3 favourite chapters of the week every week since. Definitely my favourite manga I’m reading right now overall and has been pretty much since I started it. Anyone who isn’t willing to give it a chance is sorely missing out

Bro, I got some level of trauma from Drakken, it was terrifying, not in the fact he killed shiki (clearley some way or another he would be brought back), But in the psycological aspect! I mean, I've seen worst, but that deosn't make this one less scary, and when Shiki got the Over Drive after being triggered by the load gun sound, remembering his own death, was crazy! I see Drakken and I rememeber what happened, I'm scare on how are they gonna do that whenever a second season comes XD However, To some stent I still like Fairy Tail better because of the fun, light and hopefull feeling I get from it, I love the chaotic energy. I mean, for "Serious and logically realistic stories" (which are some of the main complains regarding FT) I have hundreds upon hundreds of other Animes, I like Fairy Tail because IT IS different; Is actully unique in its own way. But I know Eden's Zero is objectivly way better in the narrative, character development and adventure aspect. Is not a master piece or anything, but is better than Fairy Tail. I still don't care though, I like both! XD And funny enough, when Shura asked Shiki to be his friend I was like "OMG! WHAT!? Someone asked Shiki first!? What is he gonna do now!? 0.0" and the way Shiki rejected Shura was earned, he knows how to pick his friends now B)

@@cjthrasher5603 yeah I've heard conflicting rumors that the first season is 25 or 26 episodes which gets us to the end of the Sun Jewel arc. It is still airing in Japan, so I don't think they will release all of the dubbed episodes yet, maybe the first 12 or so.
I've read edens zero since chapter 1 released, i wasn't really into ft at the time but when his promotional image for the series was out i started to get hyped, i hadn't really read any manga either so i just went by what i remember really liking about what i watched of fairy tail at the time, the great caharacters, even after later the same summer getting more into fairy tail i was enjoying edens zero, and as it went on it just got better and better, i was kinda inconsistant in when i read newer chapters but having that extra edge of having chunks of chapters just means i got more into it, people brushing it off as a fairy tail clone kinda ticks me off because it's so much more than that, i love all three of mashima's big series to death and they're all unique from eachoter, while i do think the very beginning of edens is kinda similar to ft even then it's easy to tell it's something different, i really like how mashima is really planning things out like he knows exactly what'll happen and just keeps on expanding on things, i think by the end of the series it could definetly be his best work

In Edens Zero, there’s been no random friendship power-ups so far, I’m happy that Mashima makes sure to use the criticism he receives. Edit: Also, I agree with the redesign thing you talked about. Yeah, he re-uses designs. Honestly idrc about that. I don’t get how people didn’t mind Ft using designs from Rave Master, but when he does it with EZ, everyone is angry all of the sudden. Although they look similar, and there are similar names, their personalities and relationships with one another are completely different. I honestly love Shiki way more than Natsu, he has way better development, and he tries works past the struggles his isolation has given him to form relationships with the good people he meets. Also, Homura is best girl.
You've convinced me! I kind of dropped Fairy Tail ages before it was finished and I don't really feel like trying to reread it anytime soon, but I did like the characters and there were a lot of interesting ideas I either liked or wish had been explored more or in a different way. It inspired me at times. Not sure why but I thought I couldn't read Edens Zero until I finished Fairy Tail lol, it's like my mind has been blowed to find out that wasn't a requirement lol. Anywho, I'm off to reading it now~
The complaint about the similar character designs is especially ridiculous because Mashima isn't even the only person who does this. I've been reading the sequel to Seven Deadly Sins, Four Knights of the Apocalypse, which came out earlier this year. The main Character, Percival, looks like Meliodas from the original series. Another character looks eerily similar to Ban. This is mostly likely because the characters were all designed by the same artist in the same style. If you look up any two works by the same mangaka, you are bound to see similarities.
Mashima’s reusing of designs reminds me of Osamu Tezuka’s star system with how Tezuka had various designs used across his series. Other than that, you have sold on this manga.
Mashima reusing character designs is actually one of my favorite things about Edens Zero. I loved seeing Levy and team shadow gear in the background of the show and the reference that Rebecca has seen Fairy Tail. His logic behind the Chronophages are also unique over how time works without causing paradox.
I mean most people don't pay attention to power systems i've seen that in multiple series not just mashima series i seen people saying rebecca devoloping ether gear was an asspull despite the series explicitly stating the spa of edens being able to develop ether gear
I don't know what it is with people and consuming modern media today, but for some reason if information is spoon fed to its audience it means the writer is bad ar story telling, smh
Thats great. Sunjewel arc is great but the arc after that, is the best arc for me though, the latest arc in the manga has the pontential to steal the throne. ☺

Thank you! I love fairy tail because it was a manga/anime my friend and I loved together, and when he died I held onto it like if I lost it I would lose him again. Sappy I know. So when the show ended it devastated me. Having Eden Zero feels like getting fairy tail again, but its so much better. I love how the world works, and peoples connections to one another, its also incredibly beautiful. I've been mocked for liking fairy tail, and if I get mocked for liking edens zero, ill wear it like badge of honor.
I read the first 20 to 25ish or so chapters and then my interest just petered out. I really love Fairy Tail's round-about first half and when starting that series was drawn in right away, though I have to admit it fell off toward the end. But with Eden's Zero... it's not that I think it's bad or anything I can put my finger on, it just didn't draw me in. Where with Fairy Tail I was eagerly awaiting the day it came out and read the new chapter right away and was also eager to discuss the chapter afterwrads, with Eden Zero I just forgot about it until I went "Oh right, haven't checked that in two or three weeks" and once I read it... that was it. No urge to discuss what happened and speculate on what might happen next like back in the Fairy Tail days. Maybe I'll give it another shot and see if it get's more gripping past the point to which I read. After all I had a similar problem with Fairy Tail 100 year quest initially, but quite like where the series has been going once they were past the Water God Dragon. As for the Fairy Tail hate... I think that comes from losing something they loved. Early on Fairy Tail was very highly rated, but at some point people stopped liking it and apparently went to shit on everything in that series as a coping mechanism. Suddenly everything from the very start was terrible, inclusing the very stuff they praised some month or years earlier. All the slightly bad stuff was suddenly horrible and all the good stuff was either downplayed or ignored entirely, so it wouldn't compromise their narritive. :/ Then add the copy-cats who "knew all along" that Fairy Tail was terrible (but never bothered to actually say so until that point) and suddenly it's the new fad to shit on Mashima, not because they had any legitimate problems with the series, but because it's always fun to dogpile on the latest punching bag. After all it worked to well with SAO once Digibro opened the floodgates, so why not try to repeat it with Mashima. I especially hate the people who accuse Hiro Mashima of "copying" stuff from Naruto and One Piece, when he actually was the one who did it first all the way back in RAVE. So I am unfortunately not at all surprised that many just used Eden's Zero to find more anti-Mashima ammunition rather than trying to see the series on it's own merits.
I definitely think a lot of the Fairy Tail hate does come from people being burnt from it. The series started off promising a lot, but it very quickly became formulaic. Even within that formula it was great (until a certain point...) but some people did not want a shounen that was formulaic in that way.
I loveeeee fairytail and always will! It’s been probably my favorite major anime so far. Although I’m the type of person to take in what an artist does and who the characters are and not over-criticize. I’m not a huge anime person who deep dives into creators and all that though. I actually came to RU-vid to figure out why the trailer for eden had happy, a lucy look-a-like lol. Loved your take on it!
Bro as someone who is fully caught up with the manga this series is fucking god teir. It's some of mashima's best work plus I love the darker tones it delves into. definitely one of my new favorites for sure

Naoki Urasawa uses the same character design for every series. So he is supposed to be lazy? Why haven't the Anime Man or the Fornever guy talked about that?

This is why I dont really watch anime RU-vidr anymore because they think their opinions matter more, then put the time for their research making video. just don't watch those guys anymore because they literally waste your time.
IMO the best thing about Mashima is the art, so when designs are resused it is disappointing. Urasawa's main draw is his writing. Which is why his series are so good: they are different stories.
I love both Edens Zero and Fairy Tail so freakin much! FT was my first anime and EZ was the first manga I read and am still reading! They’re both so great!
Without out a doubt perfectly 💀not only is it a running theme in the series but it adds so much to the world building !! It’s not a thing that is brought up in later chapters but something that is brought since literally the first chapter which in the first chapter it was shown at surface level but that’s absolutely what needed to be done since me as a reader thought that it was only going to be a problem in grandbell but no Mashima took this whole concept and developed it with such depth that’s it’s truly amazing he was even able to mix in parenthood in with this theme as seen in sun jewel were valkery seemed as homuras mother but since she was a robot she was discriminated and judged because she was trying to act motherly to a human showing amazing development in this theme. Then there’s the thing with weisz and hermit which he thinks that robots shouldn’t be with humans which I’m sure he’s perspective is changing cause of he’s experiences with hermit which not only shows growth with the characters but with the world buildings ideals and morales. Then there’s the transition from the foresta arc to Aoi war arc which was done greatly by showing shura giving a whole ass speech about how robots need to be wiped out beacuse of what ziggy did showing how some humans in this universe are simply heartless and clearly spoiled but I hope mashima goes more in depth with Shuras character down the line! Then there’s Hermits past which was what solidified the whole robots vs humans things another great way to develops the theme and morales of this show! All in all this show is not only ran by the main goal of the characters but by the problems surrounding it which is great development for the characters and the story in general! And the main character couldn’t be more well written than he already is he’s literally the perfect fit for the show since he’s the one who believes that humans and robots are the same since they both have a heart in a world were robots are so belittled and discriminated against! He’s the one who’s gonna put a stop to it no matter what but it clearly hasn’t comed in easy for him as shown in the current arc and I love that it shows struggle making it more realistic and apparent that this world of no discrimination is going to be a lot harder to reach than what one would think it would take! There’s literally So much more I could talk about when it comes to this like pinos arc and nadias love story with that one human character I forgot his name 😭but I’ve said too much lol. Point is shiki is underrated main character and has way more depth that people don’t see. And Edens zero in general is underrated 💀
ngl i liked fairytail, although it had some edges, the most i liked were the characters, i just fell in love with them and their dynamics, it felt like everyone is equally important on their own ways. When I watches Edens Zero i was utterly surprised how good it is. It is really worth a watch and has super potential and I cant wait till more comes out

I can agree that some character designs are a turn off, but that was only cause I knew just how much hate the community were gonna throw of following that Teh Adventure, the characters, the arts and slowly the story is what makes Eden Zero an enjoyment It can potential rival Rave Master in adventure greatness and its darker then Fairy Tail. Thank You, Fairy Tail is actually my second favorite anime. And I really like EZ and Rave. Also, Hiro Mashima himself thinks his characters are similar, so he made a 10 chapter series called "Mashima Hero's, When the characters from Rave, Fairy Tail and Edens Zero meet eachother. And, people need to appreciate the fact, Hiro Mashima can write really good girl characters. And also villains you can really love or really hate.
I really love Edens Zero, I just finish reading chapter 156 of the manga and it just keeps getting better and better with each chapter, overall it's way better than fairy tail and they need to give it a chance.
@@jknetwork6211 the arc itself is pretty good so far and can't wait to see more of it. Now what I think of Shura as a villain, he is a twisted bastard no doubt about it but I don't know if that makes him a great villain, only time will tell.

Thank you for the feedback on this series. I really love Edens Zero and I think this is probably gonna be Mashima's greatest work. He really hammered out all the issues so far people had with FT, even though I personally already loved FT as well. I just think that people need to understand that this is a different story despite the previous influences from other series
I loved Fairytail, but it was shown to me by a friend. When I saw EdenZero on netflix I wastched it because it looked familiar enough but stayed watching it because of how engaging the new story is. Hoping the anime continues, but I might get into the manga is needed.
6:34 it's not like half of the central cast were originally designed for Fairy Tail anyway, half of them appear in one of Hiro's earlier works, too. People just mad that he has designs that he likes. If we got mad about this shit, people should be mad at Toriyama for making all Saiyans look almost identical lmfao
I remember reading the first few chapters when they first came out, but then dropped it because it didn’t quite hook me. I got interested again when the anime was announced, and I heard just how dark it got later on. Might have to check the manga out now that I have a better grasp on what it’s like thanks to this video. Great job as always!
