These are great videos thanks. I'm a Maths teacher and directing my students to them. at 5.50 it's not a downwards convergence as it will turn into a cobweb as you point out in the next example. Not being critical just letting you know (you probably knew already). Cheers!

In the exam will they give you the sketch on which you must show whether there is convergence or divergence or do they expect you to sketch the graph as well?

I've seen some exam-style questions in the textbook where part a is to sketch the graph and part b is to use the graph to show whether it converges or diverges.

Any value greater than 3.155 and less than 3.165 will equal 3.16 when corrected to 2 decimal places so if there is change of sign in this interval then 3.16 is a root. Change of sign implies that curve passed through g(x)=0 because value of y switched signs. ( g(x)=y )
