Don't care about arms race or not, as long the vid still entertaining and informative i will watch it every time you post a new vids

Gameplay is gameplay - Don't care what mode. I don't care for Arms Race either, but it's better than Epicenter.

One catch with the Edgar is that you can't do the GigaChad Minotaur build (radar + double rudder shift, no conceal module; aka the Correct Build), without having your concealment exceed your radar range.

it\s not about we like arm race or not, it's about reviewing/judging a ship if it's good or bad without special buffs or modes. Personally, i like arm race, but when i want to see a review of a ship for the first time .. i would like to see it in Randoms :) Great content as always PQ

The funny thing I saw with the Edgar looking at it's description in the tech tree, it says that the ships design is from 1975... whether that's true or not, I don't know, but that is... interesting to say the least.

I just think the naming is quite funny going from Edinburgh, to some pretty cool names like Neptune and Minotaur.. then just simply Edgar.

The potential issue is playing arms race as a significant portion of your overall games in the ship - can flavor your impression significantly.

Wouldn't the burst fire's bonus armor pen be counterproductive for dds? sure you got alot of shells hitting but will be overpenning pretty much.

What ship angle indicator mod are you running lower left?

I've been trying to get a straight answer on one of the big differences between Edgar and Mino that specifically affects the radar ambush play style. The armor fusing threshold was apparently raised to 25mm in testing (I assume the burst fire and stealth radar combo was just too much). I've been trying to figure out how much of a nerf that really is. I had heard around the clan water cooler that it made Edgar a worse radar Minotaur but I haven't seen any streamer test that specifically. I did when you engaged that Yamagiri that you got an awful lot of overpens. So I'll starting to think those rumors are true, but still not sure yet.... another question might also be.... if you get 50% more damage, does that also apply to the overpen values which are normally 10% or 310 for Mino.... do they become 465? still not good but a little more workable. From the DD point of view, if you get caught by an Edgar, is it better to stay broadside-ish to maximize the overpens?

At 6:41 of your Marseille video you do mention it is arms race and mention the bonuses.

PQ, what do you think of arms race in general? would love to hear your thoughts. Personally i like that people actually push in and play more close combat. The opposite being games with no objective, where people literally just camp their spawn

I haven't played this game for about 16 months and a ton of stuff has changed since, hence I don't know, is the burst fire activated by the F key? //I think you should play whatever mode you want. I suppose, if its Arms Race, identifying the mode in the video title could be helpful... maybe.

I don't really care if it's arms race or not but I can see why someone would want a more pure replay that doesn't have any ship buffs.

I still maintain that Edgar is just Minotaur with an extra gun and an F button that actively hinders you instead of helps like on Conde. vis a vis Arms Race: Just mention that the game mode is Arms Race and go on from there. You can't really control if you're getting standard, CP or AR, so it just doesn't really matter, just mention the caveat that numbers will be inflated in Arms Race by comparison with other modes.

I love arms race, so I have no problem with games freatured in it.

I'm gonna say I find this ship but there's something that'll always make me laugh, it's Edgar O-0 level, who's in teak while being a ship of the 70's and having a predecessor that already had a full steel-deck. Also question, I suppose the ASW is lackluster at best no ? So, where can we see the double rudder, range mod, survivability expert, radar Edgar ?

I like the arms race games. It's a game that actually pays for aggression and team work to get the buffs. But I think it requires vocalized teamwork in a chat to really seize advantages.

You shouldn't use Arms Race to show the strengths and weaknesses of ships because Arms Race unevenly affects those. It's not just that numbers are inflated, it's that performances are inflated differently for different ships. For example, a passive heal on a Marceau and a passive heal on a Daring don't have the same value at all: Marceau's french saturation makes healing extremely effective on it whereas Daring already has heals so passive healing is not as valuable.

No problem with arms race, but a heads up is highly appreciated

One thing I haven't seen you mention is the credit upkeep for superships. Yes they are good ships but the permanent bonus pack has no credit bonus and the service fee for superships is 350K credits plus ammo. Even in a good game without eco bonuses you will most likely lose credits. I apologize if you did mention this somewhere and I missed it.

No harm in making Arms Race vids, as it can absolutely make for some very interesting matches. It is a notably different game mode however, so it might be worth at least pointing out at the start, or even in the title itself. I would imagine that the main issue some people have with said videos is when those matches are titled with things like "My highest damage game in X" with no mention of the game mode. Somewhat diminishes the value of both the milestone as an achievement, as well as the effort that was required for achieving those numbers before Arms Race made it that much easier. I'd say you've been very good at avoiding click-bait titles in the first place, so don't sweat about it.

I'd prefer avoiding arms race matches for a first impressions video as the buffs will skew your opinions on it, mostly the reload and damage buffs. otherwise maybe just mention it and what it could be skewing from vanilla

Im increadibly interested in this ship not because I care about minotaur or that line in general but because it gets otobreda 76's as its AA suite

Think the better way to go with this ship is slightly better torps say 15km instead of 12km , slightly more armour than the mino like give it 30mm and just have it with better aa and the extra turret , i think that would be fine , cant see myself using the burst fire much .

i really wish that they would move arms race back to its own gamemode... if i play random battles, i want to play domination or standard battles. as for arms race, i would say just disclose beforehand that you're playing arms race, and damage should be higher. at the end of the day, it's a gamemode that weegee wants to shove in the player's lap, and as such it's still relevant to discuss in a review.

I don't care about arms race. Play and show what you want! I'm not watching your channel because of high numbers, but your sympathic personality and insight of the gameplay, which doesn't change by the game mode. It's absolutly clear, that more damage is achieved, if you live longer (or play arms race).

Tiger 59 should get this gimmick but with more salvos! (+ Speed boost + Hydro and maybe a standard reload boost aswell)

i dont think it's worth using the burst fire for that extra damage buff. btw, first impression videos shouldnt be shown on Arms Race because of the buffs. that's my opinion

Do a normal and arms race comparison. Arms race shows the ludicrous potential of a ship, regular match then tempers that potential.

Super Kremlin with 5 smolensk turrets per side giving it 16km secondary range would be a Balans supership.

I not care about how ship performance against other ship. But I more interesting about how it perform in multiple CV MM given her AA including OTO which design to fight modern jet

To be honest I think you missed on the better armor that this ship has compared to minotaur. Which is what makes this ship much more suitable to be played with radar even if its a bit more sluggish. Anyway thx for the video

I got no problems with arms race, i actually enjoy the game mode a lot. But as a source of statistics, it doesnt provide comparable numbers to other game modes. So i wouldnt mind watching content on tha game mode, but just dont use those numbers as reference (or clarify its AR). Just as an example, my all time dmg record, is with GK. +450k ... on a ship thats not usually known for its dmg dealing prowess. But it happens to work really nice with AR buffs, and had a long game where i got to survive a lot and farm the enemy team for several lives. Not representative of my dmg on GK on regular games.

Arms race - mention it, but not exclude it from vids. Radar Mino - you are REALLY light cruiser. I recommend trying it - you put radar module (coal one) in second slot and get up to 52s of radar. Instead of top grade gunner you take RPF and you become a brutal and unforgiving DD support/hunter. Radar Mino is a ship that doesn´t forgive, but with 50s+ 10km radar AND 9,1 km concealment, you absolutely destroy most small things that you meet. And radar Mino is scary af when you are a DD, because when you spot it, it just pops its radar and you are 1km IN its zone. RPF+hydro helps to counter DDs a lot, you know where the enemy nearest ship is etc. You still uses islands a lot and do not go open water gunboating unless absolutely necessary (and then your superheal, rudder mod, rng and wiggling may play as usefull with hope to go undetected soon). radar Edgar can be better against heavier targets due to burst fire while retaining a Mino´s stealth advantage. And those shell arcs mean there is not a big deal even moderate sized island in the way, oyu just lob. I definitely wants to see you in radar Mino, PQ. Will you do that for us @PotatoQuality ?

I would keep playing all game modes, you could say this is an arms race game but when we watch we already know. It all comes down to what you prefer in the long run, there is always someone to complain about probably every video you make.

Battlescreen and Scorescreen says the mode.. if people cant read, thats their fault. Just play any mode except from Coop.

I think the fact that there is even a question about whether or not arms race matches should be featured speak to the simple ridiculous fact that we can't opt in or out of the game mode. If you are working at making content and for accuracy sake you only want to include standard matches, it really sucks that you don't have a choice in what match you get. Just like they gave us an option to play in the Super s h i p battles. But apparently wargaming does not want to give people the opportunity to opt out of things because if they rationalize that, people would probably request being able to opt out of matches with submarines and aircraft carriers. if nothing else just mention it at the start. like saying in this match of arms race. otherwise it doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

I don't care if your playing arms race or not, footage is footage. Plus i think Arms Race is the most fun mode in WoWS. That mode exists PURELY to have FUN (remember what FUN is?) with the buffs, not to mention the match tends to last a decent amount of time, not too long or too short. Not gonna lie though i KINDA wish that Slow heal was a Default thing on every ship. Like its not like it makes THAT much of difference, but just a small heal to get all that HE SPAMMED HP back would be nice.

I like arms race, but it should be noted upfront. 400k+ is an amazing arms race game, but in randoms it might be a damage record for the ship.

Ground through the French heavy cruisers, they are so very "meh..." Worst thing, once I got to tier 8, I kept thinking; they all feel like a worse Jean Bart.

I think everybody knows arms race is a little different. I would suggest though, when you talk about these "super" ships, make sure to point out how much it costs to play them. You ended up with 150k in damage, 1 kill and looks like 2 captures and still LOST 40,000 credits to play. The average potato (like me) is going to to lose a lot more than that.

I personally love arms race, I liked it back when they had it every now and again and I am very happy that it got swapped out for epicenter, so I am perfectly happy to watch arms race, at the end of the day sure arms race applies buffs but ultimately it isn't changing the characteristics and play style of the ship.

Brief mention that it's arms race, but if it's a first impressions video then I don't really care. Might maybe on a formal review but eh. I won't be mad if you do or don't.

It's very obvious when you're playing arms race. I'm not sure how someone misses that unless they have the video running minimized

Personally not a fan of arms race as a game mode - it's probably worth pointing it out if you are playing it in a video just in case peopole don't realise because as you say some of the mechnics mess things up compared with more standard game modes...

Please avoid arms race as a general basis for discussion ship characteristics. It's the fundamental issue with arms race being in the general modes -- all of your ship's characteristics will vary, even from game to game, as different levels of HP, reload, and damage buffs both for your team and on the opposing team can have a big impact on how the ship performs. It's just that variability from game to game that makes it difficult to discuss the ship objectively. That said, the game mode is in general rotation, so it is still relevant, as long as you can address the variability if you want to include that game play (point out specifically how buffs are affecting performance).

Don't use arms race for these because the results are too different from regular games.

No one wants you to not play arms race. It's just that playing arms race might make a ship seem better than it is because of the buffs and stuff, so just a quick mention will suffice.

just mention the Game Mode you are playing, that's fine with most i guess
