Thank you TrevJ83. I did try a white acrylic marker on a smaller example, and it worked fine. I have no reason to think it would not work on this piece.
@@ChristopherBiddle cheers thanks I’m building one. Is the light similar strength at top as everywhere else ? Also your 16 sheets are just standard Perspex/acrylic ?
Hi TrevJ83. I can't say for sure, but I don't think the light distribution will vary much from top to bottom as long as your patterns are simple and made of relatively thin lines (i.e. 1/16" to 1/8" thick). I would just encourage experimenting with erasable acrylic markers first if that is a concern. The 16 panels I am using are 1/16" extruded acrylic.
Thank you for asking! The LED matrix is basically just a strip of WS2812b LEDs, which always requires an inline resistor on the data cable if being driven from a signal pin on an Arduino. Without it, the LEDs will likely burn out quickly. Recommend a resistor of about 220 to 330 ohms.
Hello, I wanted to build the first version of your beautiful project, the one only with arduino, but I can't find the sketch anymore: it could show me where to find it. Sorry for my bad english. Thanks
Hi Agostino. If you click on the link in the description under "Arduino Code:" the sketch will work fine with just the Arduino. I know it has code to receive commands through I2C, but it will still run standalone even if an I2C device is not connected to it.
