I haven’t watched the whole movie yet. However, coincidentally I had just been texting my niece and explaining to her about something that occasionally happened to me. I sometimes suffer from hallucinations. It’s a condition when a person hears, smells, sees, tastes or feels something that isn’t really there. 😮😮😮

This was really absorbing - and scary - with its noir like black and white theme. Can't imagine how someone (below) aged 11 would have felt after seeing it. I'm in my 70s and could feel the tension from start to finish. Well acted but won't be looking for a repeat viewing.

Mental health care is very expensive. Most insurance providers will only pay mental health for a very limited time which proves to be a waste of money. You’re automatically cured when insurance runs out.

The takeaway from this movie is what happens when a person is deprived of mental health access because they can't afford it. A message lost in our narcissistic society--until it impacts THEIR family.

@ja maguire free enterprise medicine or socialized medical coverage both are failures in my book for more reasons than can be covered here. Mental and behavior treatment is so expensive and prolonged( it can take a lifetime to deal with some of these issues. How can our society afford such coverage?

Herein an relentless sense of separateness surrounds every aspect of the central character's existence, not unlike that of the protagonist in the movie, "A Bucket of Blood" (Roger Corman), which is also here on RU-vid. The lead characters in both films were well chosen to convey such isolation from the human race. I found compassion for both, and from this perspective both movies were a success. A "B" movie for a "B" life is often a good match.

This was good especially since it came out in the 50s were stories like this were few and far between and honest in its own way a similar film by universal and directed by Avnet biberman and starring ray danton called the night runner about a mentally ill young man who is let out of a mental institution because they can't handle him because they are too understaffed is excellent too and it might be on you tube too

I just finished this very suspensful story and you recommend the Night Runner. By chance on my left there was Night *Walker* so I checked that out for 15 mins. it's brilliant. Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor by Universal. I can't finish watching, will finish it when time allows. Then I'll check the Night Runner so my plate is full :) Thanks for the heads up or I wouldn't have started this Night Walker lol. Will let you know when I'm done, please tell me if you end up watching it too. I love B&W movies from the 50's and 60's, always good plots and storylines.
