Hello, this is an edge retention test of the Kershaw Leek with Sandvik 14c28n steel. This little guy beats some higher priced knives.

Nicely done. Kershaw makes a good knife for a good price.

If you want to make shorter videos, try using time lapse for some of the video, because, yes, 26 minutes of cutting is too much to watch, but we still want to see the results. LOL.

You were doing only tip cuts and cutting paper using part of the blade that hardly contacted the rope. Why don’t you use the whole blade to cut and test?

Use the edge of the cutting board so you can cut flat! There's so much edge left un touched it ain't funny

He is doing that on purpose. That way he can retest it with other knives and steels more accurately.

Good video. I disagree with others I watched you use the tip to cut the paper. I'd be curious to see this test with a Mora companion stainless

Lol it looks like your using the top 1/4" of edge to cut the rope and starting to initiate the cut on paper with the middle of the blade. If you taped off a section of the blade i think you'd get a different result.

I caught that when i reviewed the video recently. But in fact i was using anywhere from the front 1/3 to 1/2 of the blade. To confirm, I just went and grabbed the same cutting board i used and my leek and the same rope. I put it on the table and checked where the rope was meeting the blade. The beginning of each cut was approximately half way back on the blade. At worst it was about the front 1.25". I notice that in the video it kind of looks like i am using only the tip but that is not the case. Good observation nonetheless.

Kershaw makes a lot of Garbage knives. The leek is an example because of the flaw with the pivot adjustment screw seat being so thin. The blur is another example because of the cheap rubber inlays on the scales coming unglued and the liner lock is not up to par.
