In this video I demonstrate using the new features of the BERNINA B990 to create edge to edge computerized quilting in the embroidery hoop! I am really loving this machine.
Thank you for such an informative tutorial. Bernina has made edge to edge quilting much simpler and the scan with the laser makes the connection perfect.
I love your instruction. It answered many questions I have for the 990. I am also very impressed with your studio's included 5 year service with the purchase of this amazing machine.
Hi Brad, Wonderful demo! Would it be useful to use a sticky template of the design and use Bernina's pinpoint placement to make sure the design is in the correct place? It seems that scanning every time is pretting time consuming. Maybe the camera can substitute for a template?
sure but its only 70 seconds. In real life it's not such a burden. Would be annoying to watch a video of it for sure though lol. using a template would definitely work great its just not for everyone
Between the brother and the bernina E2E, which is your favourite? (sorry if you have answered this later in the video, as I have immediately typed this question at the very start)
Baby Lock is easier to do the built in e2e but only have 10 options. We will see when the new machine is out if it gives us more but as it stands the 990 is better imo because it is way more versatile.
Thanks for this great demo-I’m new to Bernina but getting a 990. Why did you level using the fabric and not the placement lines (i typically use 4-6 marks to ensure the design is aligned). The fabric can stretch and with denser patterns it could make a bigger difference
Oh! You just pinch these little springloaded things on the left side of the hoop and drop it right onto the embroidery unit, it's dead easy. I cut that out trying to shave time off a ridiculously long video!
