Here his vocal performance is great. Wide range, good vibrato, intensity,.... I don´t see any problem. Only a few metal singers can sound so good live.
Don't know about that. There are better ones, sure, and he has some issues that have been hard on his voice, but he has some really nice moments I'd say. Also I can't help but think he can still do better if he returns to his old technique from years ago, when he sang in a more classic power metal way without rasp and such. Either that or learn how to distort his voice better since the distortion he uses seems to be what's dragging him down more than anything.
yes, this is tuned right down so he doesn't need to even attempt any high notes, which were a little forced at best, but completely lacking from his performance. Hopefully, the end of a long tour and not getting old as this was years ago and they are still touring, albeit with many others taking over the vocals.
He didn't had his full range throughout a whole show or tour. I think Edguy sounds much better in studio (especially the choirs which fall very flat and shallow live) but their on-stage energy and Tobi as one of the very best frontmen in Metal History more than makes up for it!
