My sil explained trends to me in a way that made so much sense and helped me make fewer mistakes shopping. She said stores can’t carry everything all at once so they carry the trends. If they fit your style that means you will be able to find what you want and there will be a lot of selection so it is a good time to buy. If the trends don’t fit your style that means it is time to wait.
I really appreciate your content. Since discovering you I’ve skinnied down my wardrobe and am starting to feel excited about where I am landing. I want to live a small and simply life - and look damn good while doing it. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thank you SO much for your extra support! I really really appreciate it. And I'm so glad to hear that the channel is helping you refine your wardrobe. Keep feeling damn good!! :-)
I am very late to your channel, and boy am I glad to have found you. The cadence of your videos is outstanding! I’ve been power watching them, and have enjoyed everyone! Thank you for encouraging me to do a complete clean out of my closet, and the inspiration to be more minimalistic… Cuz , Girl I was all over the place! Cheers to you my new freshman friend!
First of all you look beautiful in your minimalist ribbon! Those added touches show how much you understand an elevated style. I love how you went into depth with the contents of your ‘sandwich’ concept-you’re not speaking too much Emily! You have some wisdom to share and I want to hear what you have to say. Clearly I’m not the only one. The clarity is getting sharper and you’re on a path that’s going deeper... I think we’re ALL evolving
I’m so glad I found a fashion RU-vidr with a very similar style as mine. I love edgy classic because it fits my love for counter culture while also being mature and sophisticated. I never felt like the extreme goth or extreme minimal styles fit me so this is perfect.
I was just thinking today that my work outfit looked like a version of my high school uniform. Navy pleated skirt, no sleeve collared shirt under a navy v neck t shirt and a blazer. I chuckled that after several decades I'm still dressed as a teen. I guess I like that preppy or corporate look.
You are an amazing young lady. Love your content and your words. I am still working on minimizing my wardrobe. I had some Ah ha moments this week when I realized the styles that absolutely are not me. So I am on my way!
I really appreciated this. I would like to have my Edgy with some period fashion spice, and Goth carefully deployed might be a lot of fun. And there's a crypt where I work, so... So some creative popcorn popped for me here!
I was a teen in the late 80s and early 90s so the return of grunge is totally speaking to me - I still love a rock tee whether with jeans or with a wide leg pant suit, it's definitely my thing. The gothic chic trend has also piqued my interest - lots of leather, lace and boots! I'll be looking at ways to bring some of this back into my wardrobe now that I'm a 'grown up' ;)
In the Netherlands no schooluniforms And for narrow feet girls loafers not possible 🫣 I was a boho girl born too late 1963 😅 I worn silk skirts with paladium hightop sneakers before my time… I love the brands Oska and Eileen Fischer and Toast these days
I appreciate your analysis on fashion and styling videos! Your scarf styling video was a game changer for me. I get complements every time I wear one, even when it's a simple outfit. I'm curious about the white tee you are wearing in this video. What brand is it? I'm on the hunt for a quality fitted tee.
Perfect video to watch while doing a wadrobe reset! :) I have had a naturally minimalist style all my life, more through lack of not knowing how to accessorise, rather than choice, and always felt it looked boring on me. In your opinion, do accessories have a place in a minimalist look?
It depends on what sort of style you're going for. You can keep it minimalist with classic minimalist jewelry. Or just add one statement piece of jewelry with your basic look to punch it up a bit. It makes a statement with out being too loud.
Karen Brit Chick www.youtube.com/@KarenBritChick has edge to her style and she also does videos on New York Street fashion so you see all sorts of inspirational edge through that.
I think it depends on your environment-how you want to express yourself. I’m so fortunate that I’ve been an artist my whole life so I can really wear anything at any age-it just depends on how I want others to perceive me
