Really good speakers. I’ve seen some comments with people saying they look gaudy but I don’t agree. Edifier make a lot of wooden classic style speakers so this is just a different look for them. Works well. Drivers seem good as I’d expect.
I used Edifier bookshelf speakers as part of my turntable setup before upgrading that entire system. I now use them as my desktop speakers for my PC. They've always sounded incredible and I feel I appreciate them even more now that they are part of my PC setup.
Edifier have great products for reasonable price. I recently got a deal on S1000 MK II bookshelf speakers for 210 USD. It was a huge upgrade from the R1280T i had for a while. Can't even compare the too, it sounds amazing.
Maybe using diamond coating can make the high frequency sound more pleasant, but when you noted it can achieve 99% of this sound quality in 1/10 or even 1/100 of the price. Is it worth it.
Edifier is coming a long way and I remember the first speakers I had for my PC was one of theirs. Man, they were crappy Chinese piece of plastic but looked so cool.
These guys do really good products - great review of these too, liked the sound tests - I know they dont seem to make a lot of sense, but I do get a rough idea of the sound through my sennheiser headphones.
Thanks. It's always a bit tough showcasing how audio products perform due to RU-vid compression and people listening/watching on a variety of devices etc
Using the S350db for few years now. Still impressive how good the sound is. Paired with the Creative G6 and the accurate Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro for late night. I’m more into accurate sound than raw distorted power like the plasticky Logitech and similars.
After trying G2000 and falling in lovr with edifier sound (music eq) ive started day dreaming about this, only things its missing is optical connection for true 24bit / 96khz more tjen 1/2mb transfer rate once Ldac is outaded and replaced by a newer codec that can handle true High res without capping it at 990 kbps like ldac does. I cant stop dreaming about this speaker only thing im worried about is the bass / if its punchy as it doesnnt have dynamic or music preset and im not sure of monitor and classic eq will suffice for edm/trance music but low volume usage sounds ideal fo4 late night use. Amaizing review
Thanks! They're still sitting on my desk and I've been using them constantly since they arrived and since the review and I've found the bass to be 'enough' - It's nothing ground shaking but it gets the job done and is enough for my day to day use. - Mat
Thank you Matt - would love to know how they compare up againts G2000 since you also reviewed those a while back - better bass / more punchier bass even at low/moderate volumes compared to g2000?
A2 is $100 cheaper and a couple inches smaller. Maybe a little better for a more space conscious setup? Woofers are the same size, but tweeters are smaller at .75" vs 1.25" and 10w less total power. Wonder how this impacts overall sound quality.
I just bought these, they look and sound great but it seems like the bottom driver is doing all the work and the top speaker doesn't do anything? I don't feel it moving at all. Anyone else seeing this or does the top driver just not do too much?
Top driver doesn’t really handle the bass frequencies which causes the bottom one to vibrate at higher volumes. How does it sound to you ? Vocals clear ?
@@KitGuruTech Right I get you, only recently started looking at upgrading my sound system hence this purchase and the stupid question. Yeah vocal's are clear. Playing games with them sound great. Overall really happy with them!
as an ex-producer of music for an electronic psy trance / hard house label these are of particular interest. I'd love to know how they are for this use case although I have to say I am not a fan of lighting used in speakers as I'd rather have the focus put on the sound quality
Im still using my old bose soundlink v2 but shes dying on me :c looking to grab new speakers for my computer and man its so hard since most cost a fortune and some people suggest a soundbar and some people say soundbars are terrible. Some say get speakers but then they list all this equipment you need for speakers to sound good and it gets confusing. For metal/bass heavy edm music(hardstyle etc) i think the bose sounds good but i have nothing to compare it to, if you happen to know, are these better? And if they need a subwoofer for proper bass instead how much extra cost does that add. Final question, the wattage for sound, is that how much power it uses to run? Upgrading my office and debating if i need to add a 2nd circuit
No offense, but you are about 15 yrs behind today's tech...I suggest you start reading and comparing. It will take awhile but that is how you become knowlegeable.
@@sportsr2-ds1xb done all of that since, have both a hi-fi headphone setup and a whole room speaker setup, required rewiring the room and adding soundproofing to the insulation.
The price makes no sense for desktop PC speakers. Sure, you can buy quality studio grade monitors. So get some? But in most cases you need just "good enough". Not flawless. 15 or so years ago I randomly bought a few budget PC speakers looking for something usable. And eventually by pure accident I got AG Neovo ones for less than 30EUR which happened to be surprisingly good for the price. Close to "JBL quality" in that market. They are a bit sensitive to human capacity, get easily excited, but as long as your hands are 20+cm from them they are fine. And the price? Still using them. RGB, wtf...
@@BarbuMateescu back then JBL was around 100EUR. While serving roughly the same market. So I put them in the same category there, right? And I struggle to recall a moment in time when Edifier has been premium in audio. It has been in the market for 20+ years. And more like cheap entry wood desktop speakers. There's certain group of fans that consider speakers must be those wooden boxes. I get the vibe. But there certainly are other ways and it's a lot more about quality parts and materials. Maybe they have grown. But this is certainly not B&W or audiophile level. I'm not questioning it being decent. I'm questioning whether 10x the price is also in the quality jump. Most gamers need "good enough" for PC. TV oriented soundbars are a decent option too and you probably already have some in your house next to TV. Also, music is complicated. There are types of tweeters, that are stunning for string reproduction, like guitar. While some other will shine in other tasks. Some prefer clear articulated basses, while others scream for those reverbing old school party boxes that resonate with it. So much for compliments.
Honestly... the sounds really sucks.. bought them then I sold them immediately.. love the lights effects though... but it's big no for me. for those who wants to buy these speakers... you must buy and pair them with the Edifier T5 powered subwoofer to make the sounds good.
It's all about the quality of the sound they are putting out. Heavy duty will generally put out more accurate sounds at any volume. A lot of small speakers cheat by using a massive sub and are very notchy in their performance.
Most of them are forced RU-vid ads. I saw 3 but I pay for premium. I like the ads here. All relevant and short. Not a 90 ad for NordVPN or some other crap.
over priced, just get something proper like m-audio bx8d3 and the cheapest audio interface and balanced cables which will be just a tiny bit more than these 330£ tiny speakers.
