Bass is okay. They have perfect punch for me tho. If your looking for more bass I heard to go with the 1700s or higher. But these do sound amazing probably $400 sound

Seems you need higher quality speakers. These are likely not designed for the harshness, and pushiness you place on speakers. You sould deff get a much more expensive system.

There has been time when I forgot to power them off and they stayed on for few days lol, i didn't notice any issue except the amp stays warm when it's left on, havn't caused any problems

I have the R1280T's hooked up to my TV, am very happy about it. On your TV you could have a setting that will allow you to control volume using tv remote. You might have to play with sound settings in your TV. Also, you can leave the speakers in ON position at all times, it sips very little power and wont be an issue

Go with edifiers 1280dbs which will have sub-out and Bluetooth, it'll be much better for ur turntable as an overall speakers for lows, mids, and highs. Insignias make stuff cheap with lesser quality materials, for example, those insignias will play as low as 70hz, compared to the edifiers will play as low as 51hz .. so edifiers will be able to generate more bass ;)

@@sazzad_hossain.s thanks for the reply. The Insignias I thought lacked the mid's and had tinty highs when playing mostly 70s rock vinyl. Ill try the Edifiers.

Follow up! Bought the Edifier 1280T to re-place my Insignia Bookshelves. Glad I did it! sound is richer/fuller. Bass is great ,more punchy! Highs are not as tinty. I like the fact that the bass reflex is in front (especially if you have speakers against the wall). I chose the 1280T's cause I'm using speakers primarily with my Audio Technica turntable, not bluetooth use. Glad you talked me into it!!

I do recommend these, I use them for my desktop for ease of use and quality sound. When I bought them years ago, I was debating whether to get 2.1 or 2.0 setup, to my surprise, these edifiers came on sale before $100 and I jumped on it, been happy with them ever since and have not considers upgrading... No need for my taste :)

Just my built in camera microphone, granted not the best but it'll do lol

Double check your computer settings and make sure you have the right output select from ur PC

@@sazzad_hossain.s The only thing my PC is recognizing is that the Edifier R1280T is plugged in. Were you able to get your headphones working through the speakers? I'm thinking it could be the 3.5mm to RCA adapter I just bought, because it is a cheap one, and I do have another one being shipped to my house (it's from monoprice).

Those Bose speakers r'nt bad, but edifiers offer you control with treble and bass. If desk space is an issue, then Bose for it's slim form factor, but if u have the room, u can't go wrong with edifiers. I wanted punchier bass, so the edifiers did it for me. I looked at bose companions a while back, for my listening taste it didn't sound as great, bass wasn't as strong as I wanted

I do the same, volume knob on speakers stay as where it is... and i control using windows, helps if your keyboard can adjust volume for you ;)

Hey, good question, 1280db will be better since it can playback at slightly wide range of frequency compared to 1280t. With classical music, you want to be able to hear as much of the instruments as possible so you'd defiantly want to pick something that will give your more frequency range to play with.

you can use 3.5mm splitter, send one connection to your speakers, and the other to your subwoofer. Use a powered subwoofer with crossover cutoff to control low frequency, like polk psw10 - amzn.to/2Kg5Qy8

@@sazzad_hossain.s ok sorry for the noob, so the diagram would be PC output use splitter 1 male to 2 female and then for each of this female you plug 1 male to 2 male and each of this goes to speakers and sub like that? 1 set of 1 male to 2 female 2 set of 1 male to 2 male

Front panel of your computer? If so, Audio will only come out of one 3.5mm jack, either rear or front, not both at the same time, but you can switch you Audio out from computer settings

I've used these on TV for movies and games, the bass is really good! You wont get deep subwoofer quality bass like at 30hz or 40hz, but! these speakers are $100 and it provides enough bass for you to feel immersion with what your doing

I'd say they are alright, speakers will play wide range of frequency, as low as 55hz I believe

@@zerrydronner1970 I think it should be alright, normally bookshelf speakers play upto 20khz, if u want higher frequency response then you would need something else. Downside to these would be, you won't get very good response on low frequency, like below 50hz, which usually plays on subwoofers. For the same price look for 1280ts, it comes with subwoofer output
