You’re videos are awesome! I love when you compare new headphones to Sonys XM5’s and Soundcore’s Space Q45 as I’m looking for a new pair of headphones but need them to bend /fold for travel use… which is why I haven’t bought Sony’s XM5 - hope their next headphones fold because they would totally get my money… in the meantime looking for a better pair. I don’t mind soundcore’s but want something a little bit better for sound (and in a perfect world less chunky)
You guys have no idea how much I appreciate the way you do your tests, especially for windy & noisy conditions. Thanks Dudes Hoarding Respectable Merchandise Epitomized. ✌
@@DHRME A great video per usual guys. Question though, how loud would you say these get. The volume on both the Q45 and Sonoflow weren't impressive for me, enough to keep either. Thinking of going to previous models ie Life Q35
I just got these yesterday for a bit under 130 euro and thought I'd share my thoughts for others who are considering them. I absolutely love how they sound! Even though I'm far from a base-freak I don't feel they're overly basy at all. There is a lot of detail and clarity in the base and sub-base but I wouldn't say they're base heavy, I actually wouldn't mind a bit more to be honest. Clarity for me is comparable to the Bose NC700 but they're a bit more powerful and dynamic (I use them in the dynamic setting, this was the default setting out of the box). Mids and vocals are also very clear just like with the Bose. Highs are really the only thing the Bose does better imo, but not by a lot. It is possible my experience is somewhat colored by my old Fresh 'n Rebels by the way. They are pretty base heavy (and muddy) so maybe I've just gotten used to that sound and don't notice base as much as I used to after using those exclusively for over a year. To me the Edifier is way more comfortable then the Bose though, even though the clamping force seems similar. But I still would like a wider earcup. My cheap Fresh 'n Rebel Clam 2 ANC are still unbeaten for comfort with their super large earcups and slightly lighter weight. I do have some connectivity issues sadly. Every now and then the music cuts out for half a second or so and occasionally there is a bit of static for a second or two. It's not super bad but it is noticeable. Range also isn't great. The Bose start dropping connection after six meters or so, these after roughly 8 meters. My cheapo Fresh 'n Rebels (sorry I keep mentioning these but I have been using them for over a year so they're kinda my baseline) can go up to 20 meters or so with two walls in between them and the source before they finally crap out. The F&R also never cuts out nor does it have the static noise issue when within normal range, while the Bose was even (much) worse in this departement compared to the Edifier. For comparison; both the Bose & F&R come with bluetooth 5.0 vs 5.3 for the Edifier. I also couldn't get LDAC to work on my Windows (11) pc. If you want to use LDAC you have to select it in the App and turn off multipoint and when you do this it looses all previous connections. So then you have to reconnect it to PC (or other devices) after you turn on LDAC and when you do that it seems to reset the setting to the default codec again. The app is also very intrusive btw, so I decided to delete it since I couldn't use it for what I want anyway. Too bad as I do like to have options, but I mainly use my headphones with my pc so there wasn't much point keeping it. If anyone knows of a simple equalizer that works with bluetooth connections on pc please let me know, I haven't been able to find one that works with bluetooth audio yet. I need to test this more with different noises so take this with a grain of salt but so far the ANC hasn't really impressed me. It does fairly well with lower frequencies but fails completely in the higher ones. Again, my cheapo F&R do a better job here. However the passive noise isolation is so good that it kinda makes up for that. The controls are great for me (button-lover). I wish they had one or two extra buttons instead of stuffing so many functions under the power and ANC buttons, but it is not a dealbreaker and everything still works well. It just takes a little getting used to it. I've been thinking hard if I should keep these or not. I kinda feel I should return them just because of the connectivity issues and wonky app. But it is only a minor annoyance, and I love the sound so much and they were only 130 bucks, so I'll probably end up deciding to live with it...
I was looking foward to a cheap pair of headphones, my main focus being the ANC. You guys think i should go for the q45 or the edifier one? Or theres another not so expensive model out there with very good anc?
Can you guys please like this comment so that DHRME Can see this 🙏 Hello😊thanks for such a great videos! But I have 1 really important question for you can you please answer me Extensively on this one🙏: Actually I’m really interested in NOISE CANCELLING right now, And now after I watched/heard your ANC comparison between Anker Soundcore Space q45 and Edifier WH950NB, I WAS 100% sure that Edifier was Way better than Anker(because Anker has STRANGE LOUD BACKGROUND NOISE and I don’t know What is that noise?) I mean is this Noise something that I hear but you don’t 😂 or maybe you have explanation for that? But then I heard your comments that Anker was slightly better than Edifier in terms of Noise Canceling I was shocked 😳 on why you think so? Can you please explain me as a professionals why you think so?
As already stated, great review guys. Just have one question. Does it creak like a rusty gate to a haunted house on Halloween like the Spirit S3 does when walking?
I'm a happy WH950NB owner. It´s the best headphone that I ever Had, dispite the high price here in my country, Brazil. For music, movies or games, this edifier is very very competent! Congratulations for your vídeo.
The only way to change the ANC to Normal or to Ambient Sound is to not use the headphone's microphone, but your smartphone's or computer's (in the last case, by using a usb microphone and selecting in the app to use that microphone, also the audio switches to a high quality one).
Great Video! Can you help me make a decision? Edifier WH950NB is on sale for 90 USD, while SoundCore 45 is available for 114 USD! In your opinion, which one should I purchase?
Great video!! I like the Q45's 'piano' & 'Acoustic' presets. The volume limiter is a great feature on both earphones.Keeps some people(Incl. parents for their kids) from getting hearing aides. Also, have you got the 'Hear ID'in the new firmware update? Oh, I almost made it to the Netherlands. I've been to the Abbey in Westmalle, Belgium about three times.
I agree re Soundcore: Piano and Acoustic settings on Soundcore headphones gives a great sound. R and B a good v shape for rock with strong guitar work.
nice review, i feel like it's a bit lack of the comparision like your others video at the end, one question is it have the anoying clicky sound when push the button like the stax 3. i have the stax 3, satisfied so far except the the cliky sound
Hi I just had a quick question. I have seen that the q45's build quality is quite crappy. it seems that they tend to break from the hinges. Please lmk if id be making a good decision if I'm gonna purchace 950nb. Or should i go for q45s Thanks!!
My Technics EAH-A800 just got a faulty ANC. Although it got repaired they still sound off. Since these are way cheaper then Technics I am kind of interested. How they really perform against WHXM4, Soundcore Q45, and the Technics a800? XM5 isn't an option for me they were really uncomfortable for me wgen I put them on.
Guys review old Tribit bth 71 red version for me is killer sound yes no noise cancelling and not new only is killing my all headphones for sound and loudness and with EQ is make better sound than mine soundcore Q45 which shocked me
I lost my Bose QC 45s at the airport and I’m looking for a replacement. I don’t really want to break the bank and I used the Edifier neopuds pro for a while and liked them so these look appealing. I bought the Beats Studio Pro for 180 dollars but I can’t decide if I want to keep them. I have my eyes on these, the soundcores, the Sonys 910xb, or just holding onto these Beats. What y’all think?
Love me them bassy cans hahah I'm an audiophile basshead.. if that exists. Thanks for this great video! It might a bit old school by now, but hope you could review the Project Rock headphones, they are pricey tho, but great for guys like me who love to workout and sweat a lot.
Definitely does. I hear ya. I think people just assume all bass love = love for bland buzzy boomy mid bass that's so easy to do and not the deep, rich, smooth bass that so many sets fail hard at. Or maybe not quite fail, but just massively under-deliver on.
Do the Edifier still sound really good with iPhone ? I have the AirPods Pro 2nd gen but I’m thinking in changing them for this ones. I know is a different model but considering ANC and Quality sound I am expecting the edifiers to be better. Am I right with iPhone using? Thank you very much to whoever knows the answer
The product looks really good, but did Edifier change their app's privacy policy that asks for suspicious access that frankly has nothing to do with an audio product 🤔
Was wondering how much of a difference the hi res audio makes. I’m an iPhone user looking to buy some over ear headphones for a greater listening experience than I’m currently having. I understand these are a budget option. Currently using Beats Solo 3 as my ( musical headphones) are these still a good choice vs my beats or should I look for a more expensive option that would give me a better experience.
IIRC LDAC is Android only. Disclaimer: I am a regular headphone user-amateur audiophile too, no affiliations to any audio company.........If you want a really good pair of budget headphones just for listening & not travel. I would go with the OneOdio A 70 Fusions. The company has a website & Amazon sells them too = Highly rated. They have a great 3D sound field. Also, great instrument separation & detail. They also have a 3.5mm & 1/4 jacks & you can daisy chain them to share the music. I just lucked into them. Oh, for wired telephone calls on you iPhone. I would get a 4 pole 3mm to 3mm cable to use your mic on the phone (Same with Android). Bluetooth is fine for making calls without anything extra. I've also, been looking at their Studio C headphones. They sell it in Champagne & black colors. They have 110hrs battery life & 50mm drivers. But, I'm not sure the upgrade is worth it?.. Oh, the company does not have an app. They don't need one. Just my .02. Tim PS I bought the Soundcore Q45 mainly for travel.
Hi! You said that this headphone does not receive audio when connected to a computer via USB-C only. My Edifier W820NB receives audio this way I want to buy a headphone with better active noise cancellation than my W820NB. I was hoping that the WH950NB also had this functionality, so I could use it connected to my computer via cable By the way, great channel!
I see you're living in the Netherlands just like me. How did you get your hands on the edifier headphones? I can't seem to buy them anywhere here. Dankjewel!
I really need help. Sound and EQ are most important followed by ANC and dureability. Now I looked at the Sennheiser Momentum 4, Bose QC45 abd thought about the Sony MX4. Now I’ve seen this one of Edifier and I still can’t chose between these 😅.
I can't speak for the sennheisers since I've never owned a pair of the momentums (or tried them) but in terms of sound between xm4 and qc45 I like the xm4s a bit more. I'm unsure what it is, but music feels a bit more layered if that makes sense (?) Also probably cause my ears are huge and those hold them a bit better. In ANC I kinda like them both in a really similar way, but I like the xm4s mic a lot more. As for durability, I hate the xm4s. I just bought my pair (for Christmas) and about a month ago they broke. The right swivel is a really delicate part and it tends to break really easy just by handling it. Guarantee doesn't cover it since even if you buy them directly from sony, and most stores cant repair them since Sony doesn't give them the parts. I had to buy a Chinese replacement and change it myself. The qcs are a bit more durable in that sense. Only changed the earpads since they were desintegrating after two years and the headband after three. As for the edifiers, I've had some experience with their speakers, but never their headphones. I might buy a pair for my gf since they look pretty nice
Absolutely! It's a great all-around headphone. If you want the best sound in that price range, you might also consider the Sennheiser Momentum 4. It sounds more detailed and natural, more airy in the treble and deeper in the lower bass without too much emphasis on mid bass. Its ANC and call quality are a little worse than the Sony's, but still very good. The Sony have pretty much the best ANC and call quality in that price range, and a relaxed, rather dark sound that many enjoy.
@@VeitLehmann Thank you for the detailed answer. But Momentum 4 is priced much higher here. I also have a concern about XM4 that I heard many people complaining about it that it's not so good for those wearing glasses. Do you know anything about this?
@@navaneethks9426 Interesting, here in Germany, the Sennheiser is quite a bit cheaper. I found the XM5 to be a little more comfortable than the XM4 but I didn't try them for a long time. I also wear glasses and didn't realize a problem on any. But the XM5 have pretty shallow pads, so you should better try for yourself.
@@navaneethks9426 Hi, I wear glasses and the Sony wh1000xm4s are absolutely fine with glasses on and with a bit of fiddling with the eq will sound really good with all genres of music... hope this helps 😁👌
