I learned the hard way i should've listen to this review, i had my z623 at first for a couple of months now, then i went and bought a z906 last week. The z623 play more clearer to me and the bass hit harder than the z906. The z906 is heavier and can shake the windows more harder, but the clarity isn't clean as the z623 when playing music. The z906 is for gaming and watching movies only in my opinion, when I'm playing music it is distorted and rumbles a lot, and lack true bass quality. I recommend the z623 for music and the z906 for movies and gaming. The wireless remote and 5.1 surround sound is an advantage that the z906 provides when playing games and watching movies. If i could afford the edifier i would buy it instead of the z906 but the z623 is a great deal and it plays music more like car systems.
I have the z623s and the left speaker and the sub sound messed up within 3weeks. was going to return it and get the z906 but i think you changed my mine. Very good video right to the point very good comparing them too. Thank you! I am going to go for the Edifiers now!
I have changed my z5500 to s760D. It's so big difference: bass more powerful, middle and high is clean, You can hear every detail. S760D sound much much better than z5500. This upgrade is two steps forward :)
yeah that volume boost feature is stupid. I didn't even know about it for the first couple of years I owned the S730, I just thought the volume went up to 50 and that was it and one time I must have held the volume button down longer than normal and that's when I noticed the volume boost feature but like I said you have to hold the volume button down while it's on 50 for a couple of seconds to activate it. I'll bet there's lots of people that don't even know about it. They should have just made the volume louder up to 50 instead
How would you rate these for listening to dance/dubstep/techno type music ? I listen to rap also but my primary music techno. I'm debating between these and the Logitech Z623.
heard audio engine has much better sound quality in satelites ? so thinking of just buying them then attaching a sub later on ? or if you think edifier is still better idk ?
thank you so much for quick reply man i got one more question . the audio engine a5+ or edifier s730 and just wait till i got more money and buy a sub to attach to it ?
I own a Z623 and the amp is too much for the little crappy woofer, but even after long hours of full volume and even once powered by a car amplifier it hasn't blown up yet. It is a little warrior :D
Yes, it is a 7 inch subwoofer and that is the downside because it is a weird/Logitech only size and if you burn it you cant replace it without cutting the box to put a more standard size like an 8 inch or 10 inch. BTW sorry for my english.
so what's the better buy for mainly listening to music man ? edifier s730 or the Z623 ??? please get back to me quick looking to purchase system in next two days would be appreciated .
Mmm the sound produced by the logitech is because his speakers have the amp blow. I have a logitech z623 speakers and at max volume isn't sound like this. Only distorts at 100% of volume, and doesn't smell the coil. Finally, it's true the z623 subwoofer is better than the z906 sub?? The z906 have more watts and 8" driver and the z623 is a 6,5" driver.
hey wana ask u a question my man, what kind of sound cards u need to hook up all of these 3 monsters together? i have a 5.1 sound card inbuilt in my motherboard, need yo help man.
am replacing the speaker system again the sony 5.1 subwoofer volume can't be turned down so can the edifier s730d subwoofer be turned down and Controled to what ever bass volume I want. am concerned because I live in a family home. so the bass needs to be controlled and volume needs to be just right.
after watching a few of these videos and reading the comments, its hilarious how ignorant people are about frequency, design, thx, etc. drone zombie consumers. every video helps for those of us that arent mentally crippled crapples, thanks.
if i connect the z906 to my TV using the red and white RCA cable will it play sound has a 5.1 set up or do I need to use another input for that or will all inputs on the subwoofer allow the z906 to play in a 5.1 configuration.
iGreenTech ok I don't think my lg tvs has one. When I get the system am checking what inputs my TV has because I can't remember it's been like a year since I have seen the back of it it's on the wall.
The Edifier S550 has the same speakers and parts as S730 except its in 5.1. Also s730 has some upgrades (such as digital inputs and a better amp). The reason why the S730 has more wattage is because it has a better amp and less speakers so each speaker outputs more watts. The S730 is better quality than both logitech systems, but if you want 5.1, there's nothing wrong with s550.
damn bro that sub is huuuge and i thought z5500 sub is big :D how hard does it kick? its true i think that logitech is forcing the bass,i have z623 and i cant turn volume over 50% because they start distorting and the voice coil on the sub starts to burn, but theyre still loud and im happy with them. and i also noticed that z623 sub hits lows harder than z906... anyway good luck with edifier ;)
In this price category, the Monitors will have a slightly better precision and overall sound but a lot less bass and inputs. I´d go for the S730D, got one myself :)
It was logitech its goal to make the Z906 smaller to make it easy to set up and blend in with your gaming system or TV... etc Its not beceause its big and heavy that its Good or better. I have the Z623 ( payed 130 € ) and the z906 ( payed 250 €, you can buy it cheaper then 399 if you look around ). and my Z906 hits way harder then the z623. Never heard an edifier probably they are nice speakers, But once again BIG doesn't mean better
not to mention :) very less distortion on the bass department because its not just a sealed enclosure. Its has a passive radiator w/c helped to reduce the farting sound compared to a ported one.
@@mynamemylastname424 Z625 will hit harder, but choose the Z906 instead.. this video is old, which makes perfect for my conclusion, my Z623 broke down on me, but my Z906 is still working
I have got the edifier s730 and it sounds rocking. I have watched transformer (Dark side of the moon) and it sounds like real. heard the logitech, not so deep, only the bass is strong. Edifier doesn't have that much bass but sounds real. Just have been using for three months but in this short time I have become a fan of it. I have upgraded from creative, then logitech then edifier. Edifier makes them all feel dull.Thought of altec lancing mx 6021 but a look at the performance nd power s730 wins...
S730 bro, but if you want deep hitting bass, get a Z906 and upgrade the sub, cause you cannot upgrade the S730 due to it being a vented inclosure.. but better crisp sound from the silk dome tweeters that the S730 produces, with its integrated CPU.. get the S730, it's way better
The more watts the higher the drop take 20w subwoofer n 150w there will be a tremendous difference just like 150 n 165 not big difference but 165 will drop bass higher
the Edifier S730d is beter from logitech z906 or z5500??? I'm seying that because i got the z623, z906 and trancer hi-cube ant i'm looking for something stronger.
Good for you bro, but long hard thought. i might sell my Edifier S730.. Just recently bought a new car, and want extra money to get some new speakers and replace the wack cheap factory ones, i am purchasing some Polk Audio DB691 soon, but want some other accessories..
Yeah so they're over 3X the price of the Logitech's which means it's hardly a fair comparison. No wonder the Edifier's are better, they SHOULD be better.
mine doesnt sound like shit. i live in a apartment and my computer desktop monitor etc is inside my closet. i have my sub to the right side of my closet and shit dude it hits fucken hard. the reason u think it sound like shit is because of the location u have it at.
I'd like to know how big the subwoofer on the S730 actually is. They claim it's 10 inches but take off the metal cover and it's way smaller. I have the Z623 which they claim is a 7 inch woofer but once I took the metal cover off and measured it it's only 6 inches. It's the same with the Z-2300, they claim it's 8 inches but same thing, it's only 7 inches. I got the Klipsch Pro-Media too and they claim their woofer is 6 1/2 inches but when I took the metal cover off and measure it, it's actually 5 1/2 inches.
yeah, just cant wait for it to break in to sound better, it rattles my living room when i play bass test songs. fucken awesome, i might sell the logitechs and get another S730
test ..all speakers .. . and well see ,but the z 906 is a way better vs z623 ,i have bought together ,and the s730 is a joke vs z906 ...check on youtube, this is my opinion.
"I REALLY WANNA KNOW HOW IT COMPETES WITH THE Z5500!!!" Do you really have to ask? Anything Logitech sounds like cheap distorted plastic that it is. Edifier is decent among "PC speakers"
the subs on both the Logitech and the Edifier are wood but the fact the Logitech satellites are plastic doesn't really matter since they don't produce much bass, the subs are the things that need to be heavy and solid
Logitech z906 have paper cone satelites, 11 watts each and the subwoofer is actually 67 watts. Edifier has much more power then both of those logitech systems because they dont lie as much as those cheap-ass plastic overpriced logitech.
