Lyrics:
She ain't got no money
Her clothes are kinda funny
Her hair is kinda wild and free
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
She talks kinda lazy
And people say she she's crazy
And her life's a mystery
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
It's a feeling that's fine
And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
And it's working so well
That I can't get away
I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
It's a feeling that's fine
And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
And it's working so well
That I can't get away
I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
Fadeout:
It keeps growing every place she's been
And nobody knows like me
If you've met her, you'll never forget her
And nobody knows like me
La la la- believe it when you've seen it
Nobody knows like me

Imagine having a song that was popular in the 70s then a bunch of teenagers start listening to it again and bring everyone back to it that you had to post the music video for it 🥺✋ Edit: just before anyone gets mad, music is free for everyone to listen to without being braided. There are many old but gold songs that most ppl doesn't look up or listen to coz they're "old" and that prevents ppl discovering such good songs that are just 100% talent with no auto tunes and such, unlike these days. I, myself, am a teen of this generation but mostly listens to 60s-90s rock songs. Hell, I barely even listen to K-pop and other pop songs from popular artists that ppl at my age listens to.

This song evokes such happy memories! When I was 9 I used to listen to this wonderful song on my transistor radio while riding my Schwinn in Pecatonica, Illinois! Now I'm old, and sadly, I'm the last member of my family; the first to go was my older brother Kurt, who was KIA in Vietnam in 1969. RIP Mom, Pop, Sis, and both of my brothers, I love and miss you all so much it hurts. See you all when I get there.

I know what you mean ,but I’m a little bit older than you.I lost my partner of 20 years in 1990 my brother 6 weeks after. Then they slowly all started to go my little sister last year got cancer and I told her that I forbid you to die and leave me I was the older one and should go first. The little brat would never listen to me she passed away 5 months after. She had all my 45s and was cleaning up one day and pushed the box under a table and there was a register vent there all the records warped . But I have this to listen to and get to remember everyone and the great time and life we all had together. And in all that time to hear and see the music and world change around us.We have been quite lucky.I’m going to give them all an ear full for leaving me behind while their probably all dancing and having a good time with out me. Miss them all but we did have a great life and the music was part of it.

Oh no, not the 45s, they would be worth a lot of money today! But don't worry too much about them; after all, you really can't use them in Heaven. One other thing that I have discovered during the past 6-plus decades I've been alive: Other than our loved ones, nothing in this fleeting life really matters. Take care, my fellow Boomer!

I've probably posted all this before on this site, (can't find it now, with 3186 comments, July 2023), but.... Here's how this song was created in 1969, and came out in 1970, more or less! The composers, Tony Macaulay and Barry Mason somehow got the song to Columbia Records studio in Hollywood in 1969. It had already been recorded in England by a group called "Jefferson" but it was either never released until much later, or it was not an immediate big hit. Terry Melcher (Doris Day's son, producer of many big names in the 60's, like Paul Revere and the Raiders) was told "Make something of this!" I was a part time studio musician (guitar player) at the time, and Terry told us, "Make something of this!" We tried. We laid down the basic instrumental tract, which you still hear today! No voices. Terry didn't like it! He SOLD THE TRACK to a studio in England! They tossed in studio singers, (Tony Burrows, etc) and added some violins to the track, and... Tony sang and a fictitious group was created called "Edison Lighthouse" and they put the record out! The band you see on the videos (Top of the Pops, etc) were created AFTER the song was a hit! They did NOT record the song, other than Tony Burrows DID sing the lead! That's me, easily heard at the very beginning of the record, on lead guitar. I never met Tony Burrows. I understand he refuses to fly on an airliner and has never been to the USA. But... Tony had a LOT of GREAT HITS in the early 1970s! Ever heard "Gimme Dat Ding" by the Pipkins? That's Tony Burrows! How about "United We Stand Divided We Fall" by The Brotherhood of Man? That's also studio singer, Tony Burrows! How about "My Baby Loves Lovin'" by White Plains? Again, Tony Burrows and studio singers! How about "Beach Baby" by First Class? Again... Tony Burrows! Okay, enough to bore you to tears, I'm sure. I'm 77 now and can still play the guitar lead on Love Grows on my Fender Jazzmaster guitar that I used on that record!

The person in the video isn't the singer whose voice you can hear. He's miming to the vocals of a famous session singer called Tony Burrows. He once appeared on same edition of Top of the Pops singing in three different bands, this, White Plains and the original Brotherhood of Man. He also sang the Pipkins song, "gimmie dat ting" and later the vocals for Beach Baby by First Class.

This is Andy Locke others are Wally Scott, David Kerr-Clemson and Eddie Richards. He is the singer you hear. Tony Burrows did the original but would not go on tour. The original band members were then replaced with these guys. If you listen to the Tony Burrows version you can hear the difference. In my opinion Andy Locke’s version is better. There were many members of Edison Lighthouse at different times.
