Those tricks regarding white balance were very helpful! I've always struggled getting a perfect white balance, but the idea of looking at the values for each color channel and just adjusting it with small increments to try and match the 3 values makes a lot of sense.
@keithsandercock1412
@keithsandercock1412 2 года назад
For an even quicker edit with a similar result, open your Tone Curve, leave the line straight but drag the black end of the line slightly to the right, and the white end slightly to the left. This increases the overall contrast, and the effect is easily controlled to suit your personal preference.

Fantastic video, thank you very much! I wasn’t aware of the rule of thumb for white balance, the have all rgb values in the same order or magnitude. This will serve at least as a great starting point, thank you!

This videos is one of the most helpful (that will result in being quicker definitely) guide to edit the photos for me. I can shoot both Raw and Jpeg, Jpeg i can share quickly with this edit technique but if I like the composition and want to spend extra time there then I can use Raw. This will be awesome for me. Thank you!

Wow shows how workable JPEGs are for editing too. That's the most I ever need in editing (except now when I'm messing up my WB with indoor flash all the time) and JPEGs seem totally fine for most photography situations. Thanks for the tips!

This is awesome. Over time I've sort of forgotten about adjusting white balance and I end up using other adjustments to try and bend the photo to what I want. It's so important to get that white balance right so you're starting from a solid base.

I like to boost the mid tone luminance on the split tone module. It takes away some of the fuji muddy haze and makes the colours pop better.

I always try just a little on the clarity and dehaze sliders as well to add punch, they don’t always work well but worth a try. Good tip about using the pickers, not something I have tried, just doing everything by eye but I will give this a go next time.

12:49 - "Before - way too blue" is true in this case but watch out with shady :) situations as, depending on the daylight and clouds, the shade has to be too blue as long as directly lit is in the frame (but that is also a choice). In this shot it seems completely overcast and "way too blue" is a perfect assessment.

Thank you for the great tip on adjusting white balance. I never seen it explained this way. It makes sense to have that correct before giving it some punch using Contrast, Black sliders or Curves. It was also good to see JPG's being edited. Any chance you could add the film simulations you used for these photos in the description.

Is it possible to tweak camera settings to give the same results S.O.O.C? If you're doing pretty much the same thing to each photo, it would be nice to start with an image closer to the final result. Obviously, some images would need special attention. Thx

Have you tried a ColorChecker Passport (CCP - by the descendants of old MacBeth and Pantone, "X-rite") as reference before a set of shots in the same light (or after)? My process is, "neutral perfect" first and "artistic deviations" second. I imagine, with a couple shots of that CCP, you may be able to create ICC profiles for different ways Fujifilm generates JPEGs and you might be able to apply the identified deviations from neutral e.g. to shots with your Nikon (if that is what you are looking for).

Question - why JPEG? Is that because of a sensor with "T" cells and ill support of raw processing, or because "snapshots and faster"?
