Sean, I’m a pastor and actually started getting into photography because of you. I want to say thanks for being so authentic and transparent - always encouraging and willing to teach others. Love your work and I hope one day I’ll get to meet you. Just wanted to drop a line and say I appreciate you!

Thanks Sean, I have lived under a rock for so long. At 32 I never had a cell phone and I just got one. Even if a cellphone offers plenty of possibilities, I think you just justified my purchase. Really useful!

Thanks as always Sean. I tend to pound through processing in LR on my computer but the ap process you described is really not much different in concept than what I do already so you inspired me to give this a try. Old habits die hard for us old guys. Looks perfect for times when I'm just sitting around in virtual/zoom meetings or during lunchtime at work. Certainly more fun than listening to the drone in some meetings. The backup suggestion was a good one since i have prime.

This is great. Starting about two years ago, I found that I was editing on mobile more and more frequently (with a workflow very similar to yours). It's so much more liberating, but I've always had a little apprehension that I was not doing "real" edits this way, even though I found myself getting on the computer less and less. You've given me the confidence to just go with it from here on out!

Awesome video Sean. Can't believe tutorials like this are free. I love the focus on accessibility with street photography - I take much better photos when I just go out with my camera and one lens, because when I have a big bag full of filters and lenses I can't slow down and enjoy the process as much.

Great video. Love this "skill over gear" vibe. I've had so many photographers and other people say stuff like "Yeah if only I had such a great camera like you do". But when you offer them to swap gear they become pretty hessitant all of a sudden. GReat camera's don't make great images. Great photographers do. As you clearly show again and again.

Great video. For info, Amazon Prime Photo only recognises specific types of RAW files which means that if, like me, you have Panasonic RW2 files which are not on the list, they can be uploaded but won’t be counted as part of your unlimited photo storage plan on Prime. The workaround is to convert to DNG before uploading and then it will be classified as a RAW file that is supported in the free unlimited photo storage plan. The list of currently supported RAW files that can be stored for free is Nikon (NEF files), Canon (CR2 Files), ARW (Sony), CRW (Canon RAW CIFF image), ORF (Olympus) files, DNG files. Hope this helps somebody.

The border is a great idea to keep your original composition. I’ve always struggled with that because I felt like I had to compromise my composition to get the correct aspect ratio for Instagram. You demonstrate that simple is not simplistic. Your approach avoids the paralysis of analysis. I’m very prone to that kind of imaging malady, ending up chasing my own tail with multiple alternatives presented by an overload of imaging apps, what’s the latest. The simplicity of a few well chosen tools is a lesson that I must habitually relearn. Your approach is the embodiment of “the play’s the thing.” Output matters. Once more you have shown us all the virtues of well chosen tools used in sequence. Thank you @sean.

I've been in the habit of shooting stuff for Instagram solely on my phone, JPEGs, in 1:1 format. It's an interesting challenge for me to shoot in that aspect, and only as a sort of walkin'-around sketch/diary practice. I started doing this because it was such a hassle to get my "real" photos onto the platform (moving them from camera or phone to laptop, adding borders in PS or whatever, etc.). But thanks to this mini-series, I'm now eyeing my old RX100 and some new apps for my phone. Thanks for another generously presented and helpful video.

I've watched a few of your videos today and feel so inspired to get out and shoot again. I've been in a rut with a big bit of kit which was becoming more of a faff to use, so I didn't and my phone (14Pro) is just too perfect; I like a camera! At the end of 2023 I found an old 2005 GR Digital II and really enjoyed using it and have decided to go for a GRIII for the faster RAW (8 seconds to save on my GR DII!) and the touch focus. I look forward to watching more of your videos. I loved your interview in London, it was great to see familiar locations and why was the Barbican so deserted?

When I used GR3 before, I also liked to transfer it to my mobile phone for retouching. And use two apps, LR and retouch. Later, during my working hours, I was not allowed to take GR to shoot in the street. I gave it to my uncle. I only left a Nikon Z6 to shoot on weekend

Great video, showing the flexibility that mobile editing now has to offer. In my world Metadata and speed are both incredibly important. When shooting to mobile I use Filterstorm. It allows me to edit my images, add Metadata and share to clients, all from within the same app. I generally know what I'm going to be shooting, so I create Metadata templates before hand, then I simply upload the images from the camera, apply the metadata and send the images.

Thanks. The Polar tip is great for anyone sticking to the Instagram square - I’m downloading that now. For cameras that don’t have WiFi (or only allow JPEG transfer over WiFi or Bluetooth), I’ve had some success with FlashAir SD cards. My almost geriatric GR has one of these. Thanks also for inadvertently pointing out some of my own bad habits (You may call me Mr. Clarity, eternally 25).

Very good little app. When I started all this online photography lark at the beginning of the century, 2003, I could only dream of this kind of technology. Mobile Internet is great. I usually take my PC when travelling and I'm wondering if it's really necessary... Thanks again!
