In this term (18th Loksabha) people are not fools to give the vote to BJP. Now people have created a balance between ruling party and the opposition. Same when was 2 years emergency implied in India, in next term ruling party totally wiped out by the citizens of India. If present government takes harsh decision may harm democracy, in next term this ruling government will also wipe out by the people like happened in 1977.
On June 25, the first session of LOK SABHA was initiated. MR. OM BIRLA is selected for speaker of the 18th LOK SABHA. The speaker of the LOK SABHA talked about the” EMERGENCY on June 25, 1975”. He opposed the emergency as it was against the law of liberty of the people and a corrupt ruling by dismissing the minister and a 21-month emergency, on the other hand, he forgot about his authoritarian rulings. MR. OM BIRLA WAS also the 17th LOK SABHA speaker. On the 49th anniversary of the implementation of the national emergency on June, 25 1975, the re-elected speaker of Lok Sabha, Om Birla, read out a resolution offering a thorough critique over the messy situation of Indian polity during the emergency period which continued for 21 months. He also termed it as an attack on the sanctity of the Indian Constitution and pledged that in the years to come, no government should be allowed to do this. The editor here opines that this is mere hypocritical for the speaker to say so, because it is absolutely evident that during the term of the 17th LOKSABHA, the ruling party did exactly the same things which it is now criticizing the Congress for. Civil liberty was completely lost during the emergency, media houses were under the government's control, free speech was alien, not much different from the situation now.

An emergency was imposed on June 25 ,1975 when Indira Gandhi was the prime minister of India and it is a mark of disgrace in the history of democratic India. The writer criticizes Om Birla ( current lok sabha speaker) as he read out "condemning the imposition of emergency" and termed it as an attack on the Constitution, while he himself as a speaker of 17th lok sabha suspended opposition MPs by using his powers.Not only that, he also used draconian laws to stifle dissent from civil society.
