When a Marathwada Farmer was told to stop growing Sugarcane due to water shortage and look to growing other Crops requiring less Water, he remarked that if the Government can spend US 9 biilion dollars on the Bullet train, they can as well spend on irrigation to bring water to his farm.. Most irrigation projects under Ajit Pawar I am sure were never completed. Devendra Fadnavis started the Jala Yukthi Shivir scheme in Marathwada and Vidharbha . This was a low cost Water harvesting scheme to help the Farmers. The Impact studies did show positive results. This scheme was promptly abandoned when MVA came to Power . Last two years have been disastrous with Maharashtra Politics and administration in my opinion in shambles . Are the Politicians listening ? Your hard hitting review was much needed.
In India people live in fantasy world. The roads outside are flooded, infrastructure is crumbling but people are being kept occupied by Ambani wedding, that western countries think of India, how India is a "super power". We are all kept engaged in this rubbish rather than reality.
Farmers holding less than 1 hectare land n taking loan of less than Rs.3 lakhs should not be forced to repay if it is genuinely due to weather issues. But not more than 3 times in a 10 year period.

It’s heartbreaking to hear the reality. But who cares😢. We are busy celebrating the most expensive wedding in the world. Farmers and daily wage workers are no more considered as citizens of our country.
I appreciate each and every video. They are filled with emotion and I really feel sorry for our farmers. I have a small piece of land and i cannot sell even coconut, nor its oil for a decent price.

Another Option is to give loans for farmers holding less than 1 hectare n loan amounts less than Rs.3 lakhs at RoI 1 % only, plus the banks processing charges etc to b recovered annually. Loan to be repaid on quarterly/half or annual basis within a period of 5 years, as per the type of crops grown and weather conditions.

This thought process of equality to "Farmers" will change, only, after the, elected government, throw the concept of "Ruling over" out of the window, and just do " Good Governance"
I remember reading about some foreign delegates coming to teach us drip irrigation technology long long ago. They had seen the Ganges flowing bank to bank and had remarked why we need drip irrigation when we have such a river? We have many rivers and all that is needed is to connect them and that is enough to irrigate the Thar desert. We shouldn't be having a desert at all. But who listened?
Now when you take loans .Remember its a loan against collateral.So you have to esure you have regular payments to reduce interest. Having bad weather is no excuse to not pay but renegotiate. Farmers take out loans without proper plans then they land in trouble. Its a viciuos cycle.
Punjab farmers were sitting around Delhi capital city (16 months) for their plight mainly to forfeit the loans they have taken from the banks. No one high lighted their plight. Punjab was alone apart from a minor help from Haryana, UP and Rajasthan. Where were Maharashtra's farmers? Now they want help from other farmers? You are jokes???????
