First time I went out, I did not need a visa for many countries in Europe.I needed a visa for the US and I got one without any fuss. Next time I went, I did not know I needed a visa but they gave me one at the entry point. Next time I went, the officer in the passport control box told me Welcome to Europe. Last time the Indian Immigration officer asked me "who is paying for the ticket? and what is the title of your talk?" and he speaks only hindi which is not so easy to follow.
I agree to your editorial. I had worked as engineer in gulf countries for more than 25 years, I know how Indian passport is being treated or look upon at the immigration counter both in india and foreign countries and how a holder of this passport is handled and valued in employment facilities. Even indian embassies treat mainly the labor category Indians who bring in foreign exchange to india, with contempt, very similar to any indian government offices. Our salary for indian passport with same skill and knowledge fetches less salary compared to any western counties, Singapore, and other Asian countries. In my exposure, our skilled and unskilled talent, knowledge and attitude can compete with any nationality. However, we Indians not all, have a crab mentality to pull down or expose our own citizens.
@@charmaine8512 Please do not blame the Westerners. Left India in the seventies and Gulf countries treated me like a slave. My salary was halved by the Arab whereas my British boss paid me fairly. Again your reply didn't address the crab mentality refers to Indians Not Westerners.
I always wonder why the national media calls PM Modi the most popular leader when he doesn't mingle with common people, doesn't speak to the press and media, and doesn't give interviews as other leaders do? Is this hype artificially created by Media?

I agree with this. My wife is a cabin crew working for an international airline and travels world. But for me I feel sry many times that I am unable to join her. I missed opportunities to travel to many countries. And I don’t know when I will. Even after being in top 2 percent of the population of my country my tourist visa was rejected by US consulate

Unlike pondicheery and Goa, the British government didn't allow the people of India the privilege to obtain British passports. If did so Europe would not been existed.
Mr. Nair is the conscience which Indians must emulate. Left India in the seventies due to poverty my mother left in the fifties and life has not improved. Indian passports are looked on with suspicion and even legal visas are abused by overstayers who rank first in the UK before Nigerians. But social media is awash with F what the FM told ministers in Europe re Russia when millions of Indians never seek asylum in Russia but Christian West only. Thank you for excellent editorials.
Argument is for common man people and you speak in simple language which can be understood. As far as I am aware India's image has always been good since 2000 moreover most Indians who are aboard work hard and they build image of India and not Modi.
I have applied for a visa four years back.On the day of interview the embassy closed due to COVID.i was asked to apply again yet I am waiting for a gap to get the interview.I DOUBT I WILL ever get a visa to visit my daughter n fly.😢
