The Montreal Alouettes came out on top in a win over the Edmonton Elks, with Cole Speaker and Walter Fletcher getting outstanding performances. Montreal's defense also came out strong in the final minutes, helping the team improve to 10-1 on the season.
I was hoping the Elkies would pull this game off. It would have put pressure on the Stamps. I have never seen such a close race in the west. Also, the east this year has been the dominant side.
It is amazing how the Vegas point spread is so accurate, they had the Alouettes a 6.5 point favorite and if Edmonton scored at the end ,you could have made a lot of money
Montreal has been lucky with how bad kickers have been against them this season. As an Als fan I'm not going to complain. The Als would blow out every team if they actually started well and didn't wait until the 2nd half to kick in. The only game they started well was vs Ottawa.
Alouettes will start playing hard anymore because they clinched a playoff spot, now is a a good time to get against them, when the playoffs start ,they will win it all
Calls for long pass wide into end zone under heavy coverage very poorly thought out. There were other more sensible/logical options. Not blaming Thompson at all, or the receivers. Play calls so questionable with the offensive coaches. Coaches must do what is needed to make their qb and team successful. Just not happening here. Run game phenomenal. 1st half brilliant. Montreal and Fajardo were fantastic in the second!
Third down on the one yard line and they kick a field goal? The running game of the Elks was excellent, tonight. The chances of scoring a TD were very high. Given the Dline has to line up one yard from the line of scrimmage. The Elks passing game was below mediocre. And the Elks secondary looked confused and forgot how to tackle in the second half
Damn was rooting for the Elks as a Redblacks fan.. Hate the Als with a passion but mad respect to them for continually and consistently finding ways to win games 🫡
