Man man man, this is amazing to hear 2- great bands going at it with style and class. Hats off to both bands. I can’t take nothing from either one. New Orleans have a lot to be proud of when it comes to hs bands. I’m an 80’s monster from Aug., eflat mellophone. Back in the 80’s, Aug, 35, Mack, Kennedy were big bands pushing nothing under 100 and we used to go at it. To all hbcu’s yall need to get in that city and take advantage of the talent. To out going seniors ,keep it going and use your talent you’ve be blessed with and get an education. Stay discipline, stay safe and continue your journey. Underclassmen, keep polishing your craft and keep giving the people what they want; that heat. To the band directors and their staff, job well done. Keep it going
Nah lol. That battle was legendary 😂. Plus I don’t think EK has peaked yet this parade season. Neither has St Aug, but both sound pretty good nevertheless. The Aug is is almost back and better. EK is making history and marking their stamp with the Carvers Augs, O Perry Walkers and Whitehavens, for having a decade or more of pure consistency.
Karr sounds more collegiate. All they need really to complete they sound is atleast 5 more solid tubas. Aug nice too. Aug sounds more true to the original NOLA HS traditional sound. I lik em both. Good battle. Fans win.
Dammit man..big band sound goes to EDNA KARR..just over all clean and crisp..St. Aug loud overall..listening to breaks and tempo you can hear them slightly off in sections..
Did you see Mr. Herrero walking to the left of the screen trying to keep his band on tempo and pointing at his drum major to tell them to watch him to stay in tempo?
@@mikeretremell You totally missed it. The point is/was tempo was an issue for them too since the commentator said they heard tempo issues allegedly coming from St. Aug.
that was before the song was PLAYED though. Drum major was Jst counting the song off too fast. Once the director corrected it, they played the whole song same tempo.
Aug and Rodgers arrangements put on a clinic 💯. Karr tubas lost it for them. They don’t sound like a section compared to Aug’s tubas. They’ll get it together though..
Edna karr got the win. Yall be contradicting yourselves saying aug won based on arrangement, cleanliness and book. Judging by the Book is the only thing subjective here but arrangement, cleanliness, and fullness goes to karr. You’re biased if you think otherwise
I know a lot of y’all wanna give St. Aug the W because yall not used seeing another band outplay them but the W in my opinion goes to Edna Karr and it wasn’t even close
EK mellos are yammin 😮💨😮💨🔥🔥🔥 EK wit the W aug got some skating going on they numbers don’t match the sound and I heard multiple miss notes and wrong notes
